Hello Princess Agents friends~ if you're ready to move on (as best you can), anyone want to join me in watching The King's Woman? The traliers look great.
Just based on the trailers and characters dynamics, this drama reminds me of Empress Ki: strong female character, previous lover, love child, emperor with obsession-level love for the main character, and her eventual love for the emperor. I guess I'll have to watch it to find out but so far, it seems a lot like Empress Ki to me.
On a separate note, Dilraba and Zhang Vin seem to sizzle on screen just from the trailers. I've never watched their dramas (I only know her from Chinese Running Man and her pairing with Lu Han but it seems they have been in a number of dramas together) but apparently they have good chemistry?
I'm going to watch this as the episodes air, rather than binge watching it, but if this drama ends as badly…
I'm with you on this. The trailer looks good, never seen the couple in a drama together (although it appears they are and will be in a ton together - which reminds me, why can't they do that with Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying??? anyway, I digress), and I need a new drama to replace the broken heart that was Princess Agents. So, I'm down! Let's do this!
I know the Chinese love to do it, but I really hate cliffhanger endings. Its almost as bad as the lets just kill…
And THIS is why I still enjoy Korean Dramas, despite the somewhat formulaic approach. At least you know the endings will be satisfying - many happy, some not so much, but either way they know how to wrap up all the story points well.
Chinese dramas could be so awesome, if only they knew how to pace and edit the drama well so they can have a good ending.
Holy shit, I just looked at ZLY upcoming films and she literally has a full schedule! 3 movies and 2 tv shows…
Actually, I just researched ZLY's projects and she only has 1 movie in 2018 (the Monkey King 3- and it's a support role and I read previously that she finished shooting this); and 1 drama in 2017 and 1 drama in 2018. She finished shooting the 2017 drama and I think she may still be shooting or wrapping up the daughter of concubine Minglan (hence her rumors with Feng Shao Feng). I don't see anything else. Again, of course I don't know her schedule and she may have a bunch of commercial, tv shows, etc. lined up on her plate but if it's just projects then I don't think she is filming anything in the near future that could prevent her from filming CQ2. Of course, all conjectures here, nothing else. That and hope.
I'm here for Yuwen Yue. I'm sure this drama is not great, but I miss Yuwen Yue already so I'll see how much of this drama I can tolerate just for him. :)
For those who may be going thru Yuwen Yue withdraw (I seriously am already), I really suggest his variety show Let Me Go Baby - it is DEFINITELY not Yue Gongzi but LGX being himself which is actually pretty funny to watch. Maybe it'll help lighten the heartache we're all feeling. I think I'm going to start watching one of his older dramas, "Drama Go Go". He plays the second lead because it's his earlier work, but I'd watch him in anything right now.
By the way, have you all noticed that compared to ZLY's filmography, LGX barely has any work?? I mean, sure he's more of a movie guy so he has more movies than dramas but still, it's a stark contrast. They both debuted around the same time, maybe a year or two apart. Geez, ZLY is really hard working I guess. He needs to pick up the slack!! ;)

Well then I think they should wait for her. I mean, we're already in August and we're talking about early next year so it's not so bad (obviously, I'm not her and can't speak to her health), but I'm sure if they really want her they can give her whatever she wants to have her come back. If the original cast comes back, I have no doubt they'll have another huge hit on their hands.
YWY fans - Just found this cute post about Lin Geng Xin: He is said to be very very shy. Fellow actors, Mark Chao…
LGX might be very shy, but he definitely doesn't lack scandals with girls. I've read so many scandals and photos linking him to girls. There's even a photo of him with the woman who played Princess Liang's sidekick in the first half of the movie. Think her name is Sun Yi. They have a photo of him and her having dinner at his place. And now he's linked to a model. LOL~ our Dear Master Yuwen Yue may be shy with his costars but he's no innocent little boy that's for sure!
it better have a 2nd season. I finished it a minute ago and was so annoyed by the ending I rushed here to read…
Exactly. I waited ALL 58 episodes so Chu Qiao to bust out some awesome ice gongfu on her enemies but the show ends so anticlimatically with her just getting it back. WTH? That's what I waited all this time for? It was so disappointing to me.
To sum up, this drama was amazing and i am not really disappointed about the ending either. Because i've…
I guess it's not just the love story but I felt that CQ getting her powers back was incomplete. They spent the entire story centered on that theme, and they just revealed all her past in a 5 minute conversation with Mr. Wu in Ep. 57, and then the story ends with just her getting her powers back in the water. So what? What's going to happen? What does this mean? How does this affect her? So far, she hasn't become this great general and leader yet, so when will she? It was incredibly anticlimatic and just poorly done. I think that's what fans are upset about also.
I miss the drama even I dislike the open ending but in the novel CQ and YWY will be together so I am looking forward…
I don't know, all the news I read seemed to indicate that ZLY coming back was going to be practically impossible, and if ZLY isn't back nor is LGX. But I do hope that they do whatever concessions they need to do and give the actors everything they want so we can have the original cast back.
Also, one tiny hope is I did confirm what someone posted here earlier yesterday with some native Chinese speakers and they did say that what LGX posted on Weibo indicates a possibility for coming back: he did ask, "is it see you later or farewell forever," meaning there is a possibility of his returning as Yuwen Yue. So let us all send good thoughts to our drama gods for this to happen~~ (I know, first world problems but still... I feel so invested in Chu Qiao and Yuwen Yue). I feel like knocking on the producers doors when I'm next in China and asking why they mucked up the ending so much and to take responsibility! ;)

Yeah but she shot one tv show already and one movie. So she MAY have some time. Or at least make time!! I've been reading translated Chinese news sites about the drama and all the Chinese fans are pretty angry, just like the international fans, and are saying they won't watch unless it's the original cast. I'm just hoping against hope that they will listen to the public.
Alright yall...here's the summary of YWY's proposal to Xinger you've been asking about...get ready…
@Linh. Yeah, their bromance is so cute. On a variety show once, LGX had to call a best friend, not tell them he's on a show, and just to text that it's an emergency to call back as soon as possible, and to just make up an emergency excuse. LGX was like, I don't have any friends, and I can't say someone is a friend on a show bc what if later they don't say I'm a friend on a show they're on? Anyway, he ends up calling Mark Chao and it's the funniest thing ever.
LGX tells Mark Chao that he lost one shoe. That he can't go anywhere bc he lost one shoe. And Mark Chao, who said he was on his way to see his wife's aunt with his wife, was genuinely concerned. And then, trying to get off the phone, LGX said, I don't know, I guess I just called because I missed you. Good bye. And apparently, later on Mark Chao called and left a voicemail in the most polite way and very concerned, telling LGX not to go anywhere and to stay where he is because he was going to send a messenger over with a shoe to where he was. It was the funniest and sweetest thing ever. :) Thought you'd enjoy that one.

I'm so mad they killed Yue Qi. WTF show. I was so relying on a previous comment by someone saying that Yue Qi survives in the book. I love Yue Qi. How could they do that to him? Fucking Cheng Yuan.
There must be season 2 because she not yet get revenge for her mother.
Well, she did. Mr. Wu told her in Ep 57 that it was the Third Branch of the Yuwen family (Yuwen Xi - grandpa, Yuwen Hao - the father, and Yuwen Huai - the son) who plotted to kill Luo He, and ironically she ended up killing off that entire Third Branch even though she didn't know those are the people who hired Afterlife Camp to kill her mom.
Wtf...endung sucks. The novel is happy ending. Is there season 2 or just rumour. I felt like I just wasted 67…
Yeah... I guess my disappointment showed? lol~ Sorry about the ranting and raving. I just loved the first 20 episodes of this drama so much, and loved the acting chemistry between LGX and ZLY that it's disappointing to see it come to this that's all.
https://youtu.be/WT_8SxR7edM Look how the work together, she really was in to the character. ZLY is crying bc…
I know people are commenting on ZLY's acting, but I also think LGX did a great job. His expression, and his reserved tears. We've never really seen him cry, even when he thought Xing'er died, he drank but he kept it in. But here, watching him cry with that expression on his face telling her to go. It's heartbreaking. Poor Yuwen Yue.

By the way, how are our PA peeps doing without our daily/weekly Princess Agents discussions?? Back to normal life?
