So WHAT if Chu Qiao gets her powers back, woop dee doop, they didn't finish ANY of the plot lines they started. What the hell is going to happen with Yuan Che waiting with the army for the war? What the hell is going to happen with Chu Qiao? How the hell is Yuwen Yue surviving that shit?? And WHY did they have to kill off Yue Qi??? I thought he survives in the book??

I was bracing myself for a disappointing ending but this is beyond bullshit. What the hell! They didn't even finish the story! Did they think we'd be like, woo~~ how artistic because she ends up in the water and gets her powers back while in the beginning she is in the water and loses her power? WTF show. Tell me that elementary film making trick is not what you thought was cool enough to end this otherwise could-have-been-good drama.

I'm so disappointed. Beyond words. Terrible. And there isn't even confirmation that they'll make a Season 2, let alone with the same cast.

What the f-ing hell. Director needs to be put in that frozen lake with the stupid writer. I'm upset. Completely. Can you tell?

SueLee, so how is Yuwen Yue described in the book? Is he really supposed to be handsome? More handsome than Yan Xun, or about the same? How does the book describe him in general? Also, what about Chu Qiao? I'm just curious... :) Thank you!

Yes, I feel like that's the relationship they have in the drama too! They captured that well in the drama! YwY is always poking fun at Xing'er and she is always throwing it back at him. It's so cute~ because they don't do that with anyone else. I mean, YwY is a man of few words it seems, and usually pretty serious although very arrogant. And Xing'er seems pretty stoic and serious too except when she's with YwY. and YwY seems to know what to say to get a rise out of her. lol~ I love this couple. I wish I could see them reprise their roles in a Season 2...

I know these two points came up earlier somewhere in the discussion but I can't find them now (due to the discussion volume - yeah PA fans!), so I'm putting my thoughts here:

1) In the beginning of Ep 57, I think YWY pretends to have been poisoned. He may had a little poison in him but I think he was pretending to see if she would actually stab and kill him. That's why she's shocked to see him up, and then he makes the comment that well, anyway, you didn't stab me and although he stabbed her lightly he didn't kill her and let her go the last time, so they are even and don't owe each other anything. Hence, can cut off the relationship cleanly and go their separate ways. That's how I saw that scene.

2) At the temple, someone commented that they were sad bc they thought CQ was going to get married to YX and that he had proposed to CQ. But I think that scene was just YWY and CQ basically "exchanging" information that they know. Almost like, this is what I know, can you do one better? Very typical YWY and CQ interaction. But then he adds that he has information that said YX is gathering up stuff for a wedding and should he call her The Queen of Yanbei next time, to which she replies well, you'll have your own wife and kids by then. I think it's the two of them wistfully acknowledging that they can't be together but wanting to be together. I know it's subtle but I think she's indicated enough to YWY for him to know that she cares for him, just that she can't be with him. And YWY has made it clear to her that he loves her, but he also acknowledges that she can't be with him. And they both know that the other knows that she is Wind and Cloud's leader which makes it doubly hard for them to be together (which frankly seems odd bc as long as YWY changes his goals for the use of the Eyes of God, can't they just merge the two sort of like how he "merged" Afterlife Camp?).

Anyway, all this simply to hold on to the final dying gasp of hope for a happy ending for our pair, and trying to find some semblance of hints that show Chu Qiao really loves Yuwen Yue, as much as we love him.

Well hell, if ZLY is doing another sequel then there is no reason why she can't do the sequel to this drama! I wish there was something we can do to somehow get both ZLY and LGX and the crew on board for a Season 2. And for a next year release!!

Save us SueLee.... You're our only hope...

I'm hoping against all hope that they do the Season 2 with the original cast of Yuwen Yue and Chu Qiao. Frankly, I feel like Lin Gengxin barely shoots anything compared to Zhao Liying so he should have the time to do a Season 2! I mean, look at the man's filmography! I've already exhausted the whole list, plus his variety shows during the span of this drama! He needs to make more dramas and movies! Zhao Liying, ok, she's a busy cat. So hopefully, she'll agree to sign on and Lin Gengxin will too. I think if ZLY agrees, I've heard that LGX will also agree. Don't think they need Shawn Dou really bc the second half of the novel can be about the fight for the Wei throne and etc. Although, it would be nice to have Shawn Dou back, I've been getting kind of tired of Yan Xun and his broody mean self.

Yes, she said, "I'm going/want to go find Yuwen Yue." But either way, it's like, she's a little too late. I think that's why she says something like I should've never left you. The realization comes a bit late I think.

Yeah, unless someone goes and looks up the episode previews and the episodes, then it's just a general comment, not a spoiler comment. I mean, if people go and look it up themselves then that's on them I think.

I don't know about deserve but I can understand where you are coming from. I wonder how much of it is the editing from the novel to the drama that's been cut out, and how much of it is a lack of subtlety in acting from Zhao Liying - and I caveat this with the fact that I'm a big fan of ZLY and she was the reason why I started watching this in the first place. But I agree with Sue Lee, Yuwen Yue was so endearing to me that I just feel he deserved more than what Xing'er gave him.

I feel the same way. Poor Yuwen Yue. Why did they do that to him in the drama? I mean, yes we still don't know how it's going to end exactly but I definitely think they could have done away with a good 20 episodes of BS and put in more stuff between Yuwen Yue and Xing'er, and Chu Qiao's background.

Yes, that's all I want now. That's it. For neither to die and for both to be together finally.

I can't wait for the discussion here tomorrow, and the day after when all the subs for the finale are out. Heh heh heh~ I think it's going to blow up. Will it be "WTF?!?!" or "Ok, fine." or "OMG, I can't believe they did that!" or All three!?!?

The series wasted some necessary episode time with useless things like Chun'er, the penpal thing, etc. It adds detail to the series so I appreciate it but where time is short and there isn't enough to wrap up the major plot points, these all should have been dropped.

OMG! I thought I was the only one laughing at that!! Yue Qi has become SO cheeky it's hilarious! He knows YWY and CQ both have feelings for each other so it's just like him bringing it out in the open for them. Yeay Yue Qi!

I almost fell out laughing when he was like: "who are you asking? I'm doing great! I'm a good eater, sleeper and my martial arts is getting better, life is great! Is that what you really wanted to know?" HAHAHA~ And he knew YWY was basically telling him to get lost and give them some alone time, and he was like what? I'll get eaten by wolves. Hahah!! Yue Qi is awesome!
