I liked the first episode. I loved the second episode. I think it depends on the person because I do not think the show is boring. The mood IS different from the usual kdrama and perhaps that is what's giving off a sense of "boredom". It's a show where you may not get a roller coaster of emotions; but in the end, it'll be worth more due to them taking the time building the world and its characters. The humor is awesome.
It's one of those movies that sets my heart on fire. Sad that it can't be appreciated by all because I very much want to share it with everyone. I don't buy movies but I bought a Blu-ray player just for this movie. I think it's also deserving of a large screen and a awesome sound system.
There is a incredible review on it by a blogger named Thundie and another one on the site Twitch written by X.
I actually like that it's different. It definitely won't appeal to everyone though. There's an odd humor to it and some of it comes from knowing KBS and their variety shows. It's just hard to tell where the show is headed from the pilot alone. I still think it has potential to be great. I agree with the hit or miss comment below.
I won't lie though. IU's acting nearly put me to sleep.
Thanks for the article. I enjoyed reading it. It really is too bad that people are too harsh on it.
I actually think this drama is really cute. Then again, I was never against the change in cast because sequels rarely work out and a show like this needed a fresh start. I went into the show open-minded and I'm finding it as enjoyable as a food drama should be.
I love the female lead. She makes the show for me. Only downer is that I can't say I like Taek Soo's story. The rest of the cast is great though.
May is going to be such a good month. I've been wanting to watch Ex-Girlfriend Club because of Byun Yo Han, so hopefully it will not disappiont. Orange Marmalade for Yeo Jin Goo. The Producer has such a great cast (Cha Tae Hyun!), I have to at least check it out.
Thank you for spending the time to write all this up. Now I've added Jejudo Gatsby (maaaaybe) and Masked Prosecutor.
I think it's a different actress with the same name who was in Eyes of Dawn. That actress definitely was not 14 at that time, kissing a 32 year old Park Sang Won. lol
Daebak! If I could give this drama more than a 10, I would. I know that there are some out there who didn't love…
Exactly, I'm the same way. Maybe it also has to do with getting older but dramas seem to have lost its effect on me. And then Healer came around. It's nice to finally be reminded about why I started watching kdramas. On top of that, you have great and meaningful characters, a beautiful message, good acting, a lack of frustrating tropes, and a intrigue that holds up all the way to the end. For its genre, it's my favorite.
It may be an ordinary fairy tale story, but it definitely succeeds at what it is by blending the right amount of myth and human emotion to create a drama that still feels fresh regardless of time. Many of the moments I still remember today, like the stuffed drumstick and the camera. I think that is what makes this drama a nostalgic favorite. Plus, Shin Min Ah is gold in every role she plays.
You'd like it if you're looking for something lighthearted, innocent, cute and sweet. Great soundtrack too!
haha Nice that you mentioned them both. I actually loved Cruel City because it reminded me of Man from Nowhere. So after that was done, I really had nothing to watch.
Another suggestion TV-related is watch a variety show.
Doesn't anyone have the feeling that the ending was too open?? They rushed through the plot and i'm seriously…
Glad you enjoyed it :D yea...It's the only thing about the drama that makes me sad. I think the drama needed at least 30 more minutes to explain things fully. It just wasn't possible because of time and budget though. :(
I always just send people to this website for explanations. lol No better person to hear them from than the writer herself. She does talk about what she wish she could've done. She explains some of the characters more fully. http://morumoruisland.blogspot.com/search/label/SJN
Teaser for Director's Cut commentary feature. There's only a few copies of the pre-order DVD left...for those still contemplating. It was at 142 yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib5c1FSuqlE
I was watching the first episode of Angry Mom and I found myself thinking... if only this world had someone like Healer. hmm...Guess I'm still not over it, even though I really enjoyed my last two dramas Bad Guys and Punch. Now I'm going through Song Ji-na's Eyes of Dawn.

This was posted on Tae-mi's twitter (the actress who played Dae Yong). It's a 6 minute "Healer 2 spinoff" video.
It's a short little something made by the K-Tigers, mostly to showcase Taei-mi's skills. But still nice to hear the Healer title song again.

I wouldn't mind another 20 episodes though. :D
