I saw her daughter as the image of the changing younger generation who is forgetting and "moving on". It's very sad that the older generation will soon be forgotten. How heartbreaking it must be to be torn apart from family/love ones. Such a beautiful movie. In such a short time, it spoke so much.
I try to use sites like Viki and Dramafever, but I have the luxury of being able to do so because I'm in US. For those who do not and are unable to access such sites, the best suggestion I can offer is to use a Chrome extension to bypass the restrictions. There are a few extensions that will mask your IP, making it seem as if you are in a different country. I'm not sure if that is a viable option for everyone, but I used ZenMate when I couldn't access a certain video, and it worked fine for me. It's too bad these legal options aren't open to more countries.
Yes! I completely agree. It does require talent to take a regular story and make it feel fresh. I think that becomes more apparent when you're someone who has become familiar with formulas to the point where they don't work anymore. Which I am. Yet Healer manged to touch my heart. And it was because of those themes you mentioned. Certainly the actors as well, did a great job with their roles, making them lovable. It also was paced wonderfully. But mostly the ideas of loyalty, dreams, friendship... Protecting those who matter to you. So many questions that made this drama more than just another romance.
Translated interviews with the writer. I know it's not much, but it's something at least. You may find the answers you are looking for and then some. But yea, I wish there was more time for the extra bits.
It's too bad that the drama changes about midway through...or so I've read from multiple sources The sets and costumes are beautiful. It boasts an amazing cast of talented actors. There would be some scenes where I'd be in awe of Han Seok Kyu. I'm just worried about spending more time watching if I'm just going to get stuck later on. Does it get that bad later? Or is it just a matter of opinion.
overrated !
perhaps because Ji Chang Wook is pretty hot ^^
The difference is there has been quite a bit of trolling on the Healer page with comments knocking on the fans themselves. If you think the drama sucks for whatever reason, fine. Opinions are great when they remain as opinions. But quit with the assumptions that our reasons for liking this drama are cheap and limited to the "popularity" of the actor.
It may be one of those dramas that needed to be watch in its time. I'm assuming it inspired a lot of other dramas bc it was huge back then. I think it can still be enjoyed as long as you understand when it was made and that some of the scenes will be a bit silly.
By the episode you mentioned, it should be clear that it is not a love triangle but that he is mostly concerned for his niece's safety. Healer was known to go either way depending on money. Remember that his first mission was actually for Moon Shik before being hired by Moon Ho? If you knew that about someone, wouldn't you warn them to stay away? Moon Ho doesn't even know Healer's intentions at that point. I've actually been traumatized so much by other kdramas that I saw it that way the first time. But do not worry, it is not that.
I agree with Vin. Moon Ho's obsession with her is mainly on his belief that she's been dead all these years. It's also because of his own guilt. His guilt for having said nothing in the past. He has clear intent on setting things right and as her protective uncle, he is "obsessed" with keeping her safe until he can figure out what to do.
This drama has ended nearly a month ago and I am still coming back to this page...and I've watched more dramas…
Problem with me is that I've struggled with getting through dramas for a couple years now. And it's not that the other ones aren't good. Little things easily piss me off to the point that I end up detached. I'm just like that and can't help it unfortunately. That's why I liked Healer even more because it's the first drama in a LONG time where I didn't have to reason with myself to get myself to like it. Not that I'm saying Healer was perfect. ...Well...it was perfect FOR me. lol So I'm both happy and sad. Happy that I could have a drama like this after looking for so long. Sad that maybe, I will never find another. I'm always hopeful though. I've started on Punch and I like it for its writing and directing. Healer kinda had all of me though.
Anyways to answer, I have no solution. lol Although, I have held off on re-watching. i think that with everything I love, I worry that watching it too much will make it loses its magic. I'll try to wait til I get my Blu-ray. 2 more months!

Same here. I even keep editing it on my list so that it'll stay at the top of List Updates that's on the MDL front page. These days, I come here to check what new people have found Healer. Then I smile when I see that they are loving it too. :D
There is a bunch of conspiracy theories behind the reasons for that end result. That's probably is what the movie is about.

What kdrama with a high rating doesn't have a hot guy? Ji Sung is pretty hot. ^^
