Anything similar and as good / intense as this drama in terms of acting and screenplay? I don't mind the…
@Elizabeth ... me too, it remains on top....Sawan Biang is unmatched in terms of Smart Writing, Well-developed Characters and exceptional acting ... Among the best of all Asia, in this aspect --> Regardless of the controversial subject matter.!
DramaCools.to has Sanaeha Sunya Kaen .... SSK tried to imitate SB in intensity, but fell far short in other ways, especially in Depth and Complexity :( ... mainly b/c the leads were not likable characters ... But if you like slap/kiss, it is intense and the second couple is very likable... worth watching!
This should be very good! EDIT: I removed direct link, b/c often videos get removed... It is on YouTube , search…
No ... maybe someday ...
At the time I was very excited about Num after having just watched him in Dung Duang Haruetai (1996) ..... my excitement fizzled later, but I still love his role in DDH as the "Scary storm" but romantic King of Kasik...
If you have not watched it, I highly recommend it for the wonderful lead couple, their witty banter, and script... Mood maybe similar to Tae Pang Korn; it's quiet yet interesting.
I actually watched part 2 of the series first because I was looking for Mik's lakorns and was left disappointed.…
Me too, I was surprised by this show (after pt 2), so unexpectedly good! ..... Part 2 had a repetitive crazy plot, yet the main couple's acting, characters, incredible Chemistry and Addicting Love made it well worth watching for me ....
Both male leads (pts 1&2), although different in character, were so passionately and deeply in love .... and both parts had the theme of the very selfish parent at the root of all the problems (father here, mother in Pt 2.)
4 couples, each a different love story w/ different dynamics, lots of hot men and women... This a joy to watch.…
I only saw clips from the movie on DM....
YT has Ep 1 and 2 subbed.... Plus, 35 subbed clips of the couples, listed by episode....This YT playlist has them all, mostly in order:
Eng Sub Bang Rajan / บางระจัน - 2015
On the AFN (AsianFuse Network) forum, everyone was happy to see real Thai-looking actors w/ dark-skin..... I read main actors wore makeup to look darker.
The forum had many scenes explained or subbed, very helpful.
eng sub here :

First 6 episodes are deleted :(( .... I have stopped posting direct links b/c I noticed videos get deleted soon afterwards .... instead I just say Youtube and tell them what to search for.
I thought these links are hidden from non-members, I guess not!
SJDK Fansub facebook page had this completely subbed and in a playlist .... recently they have had some issues, some vids removed/blocked etc... and now the playlist is incomplete.
U can still find them if you search FB directly for each individual episode:
i.e. : eng sub fai ruk game rohn ep 1
Same lead actress from "The Pursuit of Happiness".... Oh no! I don't think I'll watch... I…
LoL... I don't even remember this comment or the actress ... But I did not like The Pursuit of Happiness and dropped it ... slow and draggy, nothing interesting.
It really is not fair to compare a layered and deep piece of classic literature to a lakorn ... Just that the general premise and some plot points compare.
It is not an adaptation, maybe just inspired by P&P ...
That said... I agree w. everything you said .... First and foremost is that these characters are both childish ... and I agree, there is no character growth.
Yet, it is a character driven drama, not plot driven ... very similar to P&P ....
P&P is one of my all time faves also, and I love it as a Novel of Manners even more than as a Romance ... I love the character studies and acute insightful observations .... In that sense NNS does not compare ...
Nonetheless, NNS is similar in that it involves many supporting characters that are also well developed, and it shows a slice of life for a certain class of that period.
For a lakorn, it is very well written, w/ well-developed characters (even supporting ones), a consistent story, good pace, good humor, good writing and good acting (despite Janie's frozen expressions.)
All lakorns end the same way, after the climax a new obstacle emerges, involving stubbornness of one side to prolong the eventual union of the couple.
trying to understand the family tree, complicated relationships.
I just uploaded a Relationship Chart in Eng to the Photo Section... see if it helps ... I am also going to update the synopsis and see if I can make it clearer.
This show is the Makjangist of all Makjang ... but it's fun.
This is a Good lakorn ..... Good acting ... Good chemistry ... Interesting story-line ... lots of angst ... believable…
Smexy Chakrit
My fave of his:
* Bow See Chompoo (2004) --- wonderful chemistry!.. Love the leads, fun antics ... drags a bit at end... but so worth it to watch him go nuts w/ jealousy b/c she's a player dating several men at once !!!
* Mam Gaem Daeng (2012) --- real good and fun at beginning, slows down at end.
Others like:
* Mafia Tee Ruk (2007) --- pretty good, but I didn't believe in the couple (actress? writing?)
* Mon Jun Tra (2013) --- also real good, I liked it, I just couldn't stand the actress (others love her)
* Ku Kaen San Ruk (2011) --- Rom-com, I have it on hold.
Just so-so, but he's amazing here:
* Sapai Glai Peun Tiang (2009) --- Chakrit and Anne T. are just wonderful to watch , fun characters ... story is weak though...
* Kon Rak Game Payabaht (2006) --- another wonderful actress ... her revenge plot is stupid .... But he plays another perfect Male lead --- He is so manly!
* Buang Banjathorn (2002) --- good plot, love the idea, but did not captivate me
I have yet to watch:
* Jam Luey Gamathep (2009) --- supposed to be funny, good actress ... recently subbed after being lost ... Probably very good.
* Talad Arom (2011) --- I am sure he is good .. I like Vill.
* Sai See Plerng (2014) --- dying to watch it, no subs :((
Also:
* Leh Rai Ubai Ruk (2005) --- I recently saw it raw, but I watched the remake first (Plerng naree) so I understood the plot and characters ... Really liked it, good chemistry, and much better than the remake .
He's very versatile... acts in many genres: Action, Romance, Comedy, Melodrama, Horror, etc.... But always very manly, confident, intelligent, mature and smexy!
Sorry, I can't help fangirling over him!
P.S. Chakrit and Bee N. are together again in Saeng Soon (2007) ... no known subs.
This is a Good lakorn ..... Good acting ... Good chemistry ... Interesting story-line ... lots of angst ... believable…
Bee Namthip plays N'rai in most recent dramas ... I love her w/ Pong (if u don't know him yet, u should!) .... She played one of most sassy feisty kick-a** females, as Ornicha in: * Buang Ruk Gamathep .... along w/ Pong ... (a real good fun show)
Ahh, my man Chakrit!....I fell in love w/ him at first sight of his acting ..... He is the definition of SMEXY!!! At first I avoided him b/c I didn't like his photo... I was so wrong!... I became super obsessed w/ him for a couple of years .... I will watch anything w/ him .... But most of his lakorns are just so-so, b/c he did so many, over 50 and he's not 40 y.o. yet!...He also makes movies. My two fave lakorn actors (Ken and Chakrit) and they both are not picky about their lakorns :(( ... Chakrit just does so many, and Ken so few :((
Very good story ... good consistent writing ..... not much filler (a lakorns plus) ... No Unnecessary Craziness…
Less corrupted is a good description... I say they are flat, less complex ... u r so right about the screaming psychos, to keep the balance and tension, if one is all good, then there has to be one all bad.... they also add action and crime to move the plot, instead of character development.
Even if a lakorn, some do a good job at showing motivation and believable love, especially older ones.
A remake of the one with Andrew G.? Wonder when it will show
I loved Pope's relationship w/ his father in the 2001 version.. Andrew & Montri are wonderful actors... It's development was as good as the romance.
The only improvement it needed was for the heroine to be tougher and not such a noble idiot at first.
I have rarely liked anything coming from Ch 3 in the last 3 yrs ... Weak writing, white-washed flat characters, action and psycho evil ones replace development and depth.
