In Battle of Changsha his portaryal of Xiao Man made an annoying brat into someone endearing and unforgettable.
Also, in Love o2o , he was the best thing in it, turned a flat character into someone that stole the show!
At one point, I started counting the amount of attempted kidnappings, sexual assaults, and attempted murders PER…
Pin Anong is --> Pin Annoying ... although the story and everything was better in PA ... I dropped it because I couldn't stand Pin's annoying stupidity and noble idiocy...despite Weir's most lovable Yai :(....
I continued w/ Talai Fai because I liked the main characters and actors ..... but the story/plot is a huge mess :P
A beautiful elegant little film about young innocent love, nothing special or original about the simple story ....Nonetheless, it is made remarkable by its director and its two stars. Zhang Yimou's little touches and the performances of Dou and Zhou elevate the story to something memorable and touching.
I love everything about this film .... the actors, the characters, the plot, the ending, and most especially, I love the many themes:
The power of education and literature to free the mind;
I especially love the theme of the "double edged-sword" or rather "double-edged knife" as in the folksong ...... also the symbolism of birds that soar!
This movie is full of meaning and symbolism.... simply beautiful!
Silliest adaptation of BBJX to date ..... They ruined the best part of BBJX: they turned clever RuoXi into a bumbling childish idiot .... The Chinese seem to love the sassy but dumb heroine cliche :((
Even if taken on its own, the movie does not make much sense..... The only charm is Shawn Dou and his 14th prince <3

I feel sorry for Asian celebrities, they are treated as commodities, not humans.... they're not even allowed private lives ...

G, was this film released? .... Asianwiki said Apr 2016, but comments said no .... I looked elsewhere and it is all about a French film of same title coming out last spring.

Poor Park Si Hoo, he's been having such terrible luck last few years.
Not bad .... but overall weak .... This could have been so much more. :(
The romance is nice, I especially like the male character's development...
I like the main couple and their friends .... she started out naive, a bit too weak but she's not dumb , so she improved. .... He tries hard to remain aloof and calculating, but he is kind and it shows.
The weakness lies in the revenge plot .... The whole story is not convincing, the reasons are not compelling enough for revenge or the mother's breakdown .... The entire development of this background plot is weak..... and all too predictable.
It takes away from the male lead's reasons for staying away from her ... It weakens the love/hate and revenge aspect of the romance ... as a result, it weakens the romance.
Not enough intensity, not enough drama.

Yand Yang is beautiful, but can't show his acting talent, character is not demanding!
As I said, NJF is the only one that showed acting talent, because he still made his character, Old Man Yu, shine ... He gave the character complexity not present in the writing.
@Viktorija ... well said!! .... there are other dramas that don't use annoying tropes ..... difference lies in execution .... to me, the biggest difference is the flat characters...
Conflict is often used in dramas to introduce tension and thus growth/development .... All missing from this.... Everything is treated in a very shallow matter.
Tired old cliche plot .... Have seen it so many times already .... nothing fresh ... In fact, ridiculous and absurd logic .... Much better done and more interesting in More Than Blue.
Zhou Dongyu is wonderful, as usual .... Lee Jun Ki is good, but ridiculous character.
