i know the feeling. i knew it was gonna be a HE in special ep, but i still cried my eyes out when watching ep 36 earlier this week. it was sooo powerful and heart-wrenching.
i'm wondering if there's a way to search for the special episode in english? it's possible they "hid" it the same…
i hope so too! i'm actually worried whether they'll include it for YT/Viki/Amazon/etc. releases -- because if ep 36 is aired as is, it'll really dampen the watching experience for international viewers, especially those not in the fandom and don't know the special episode exists.

seriously, i have learned my lesson from Legend of Fei, lol. i was honestly looking forward to this drama for an entire year, and got sucked up in the hype, and then the end result...
plus, 2Ha is really really really difficult to adapt well, imo. there are so many things they'd have to change for censorship purposes -- that's not even talking about investors dipping their hands in and potentially damaging it. i will keep my expectations low and perhaps be surprised if it's good. but i still pray that it'll be good!
it depends on what identity. ZZS found out about WKX's identity as his shidi in ep 19-20. they officially "revealed" WKX's identity as Ghost Valley Master in front of ZZS in ep 27. however, ZZS had known about WKX being Ghost Valley Master before then -- most likely also during the cave scene in 19-20 based on what ZZS said in ep 27. but in ep 22-23, ZZS had conversations with WKX and Ah Xiang that hinted at him already knowing WKX's identity.

but also, why would you even bring in Immortality when it's not even aired yet? because of the hype? it's literally the BL drama with the highest budget / promo (maybe aside from TGCF). i'd say the buzz around it pre-airing is "too much" since we literally don't even know if it's gonna be good. it only has the buzz because 2Ha is a huge fandom and Tencent threw a lot of money at this production, including getting 2 bigger named actors for the leads.
to compare Immortality to WOH, which is a very low budget drama everybody thought wouldn't do well, and Youku didn't even really promote it much until they saw WOH suddenly got popular... i mean, considering how much more Immortality got to work with, it SHOULD be better than WOH.
(again, i'm saying this as someone who has read and loved 2Ha. i've read and re-read it multiple times, and am absolutely in love with CWN. i was following their shooting scheduling carefully since it was announced last year, too. but it's kinda unfair to bring Immortality into this discussion because it could potentially be "better" when we don't even know anything about it except that it has stars-studded cast and big production and marketing...)

personally, i think WOH is better than CQL in many ways. i am saying this as someone who loved CQL and WYB/XZ, and even flew to China for their Nanjing concerts. CQL will always have the top spot in my heart because it was my first love. many people would've said that the crazy buzz around CQL in 2019 was undeserved -- and i'm sure you and i will both disagree with them, because CQL really did deserve all that.
but it's all personal opinion, and that's fine. CQL itself had sooooooo many pitfalls if i were to be honest, but i overlooked them because the good things far outshine the bad. same for WOH now.
of course there are better dramas out there. there are dramas with better production, better plot lines, better acting, better everything. but "good" dramas aren't always popular dramas. it's the heart of the drama -- the chemistry and the emotions and the experience that it gives to the viewers. and this is personal preference. the fact that so many love this drama doesn't mean that they aren't aware there are objectively "better" drama out there. thing is, those "better" dramas didn't make me fall for them. WOH did. and that's what important.

yess! that's what makes me love him so so much. he's not loud and flirty, and he doesn't trust blindly. but once he chose WKX, he's utterly devoted and will stand with him against the world and do everything for him. he's really so so so good.

ep 31 was fixed maybe 2 days ago, and i think ep 32 was fixed earlier today! the english version was the old one as of yesterday, but i haven't checked again yet.

if you look at this post, it shows that the martial arts Deng Kuan's son was practicing in the special episode was actually WKX's martial arts passed down by his father. if WKX is also passing down his martial arts, i'm sure ZZS is doing the same to all the Four Seasons Manor disciples who come to the mountain to visit/study.

Yeah I think this is Deng Kuan a decade or two down the road. The child is possibly Deng Kuan's son with the Cao girl. In ep 37, the disciples didn't call the Cao girl by the title they should've used if she were Cheng Ling's wife and Cheng Ling is their shifu. But it's all conjecture.
