He is so used to Gao Tu's presence that it feels weird when he is not around. He became harsh & rude than usual when he saw Gao Tu again since he "knows" that Gao Tu is with his omega partner and that makes him jealous. It is not like he is insulting him just because, but he is unleashing his jealous anger onto Gao Tu.

This is just my POV, so it could be wrong. I think if Wen Lang didn't know he has an omega partner, he would not have been rude like that.

I agree with you 100% that he is the one in control. He is the one who has the power on whether he wants to be saved or not.

For me and my experience with people like this (whom I can see potential in), I prefer to stand by their side and tried to understand them for them to get help. Of course, I am not going to risk anything major to help them, but I prefer for them to have someone empathic for their situation to help push them a bit for them to be pushed on their own because if they have this same broken lifestyle with no support for the past 2 decades, they will do it again for another 2. It usually works for me, so I tend to be really patient with characters. I don't tend to have an opinion of a character until the final episode once I know everything.

I think the main reason on why he kept the father in his life, as I said before, is because he would rather be threatened by his father rather than his sister be threatened. I don't know how his father got information about him, but maybe through gossip or snooping around Gao Tu's personal stuff while he was still living with him.

Plus, Gao Tu has such a broken POV about his father that he probably thinks as long as he is not physically here in front of him or his sister, it is fine if his father leeches his money, even though it is not fine at all.

Also, I forgot to mention this in my previous comment. With Gao Tu's extremely low self-esteem, he probably thinks that he deserved to be abused. I think it says that in the book too.

You are right that it doesn't excuse him to continue working with Shen, but it is understandable on why he does, especially since he can't find a better high-paying job to pay for his siter's bills.

Talking about the bills, the reason why Wen Lang took credit is because he was trying to cover up for Hua Yong. He didn't ask Hua Yong to pay for Gao Tu's bills. If he says that he didn't pay for Gao Tu, then what other S-Class alpha would willingly paid for Gao Tu? It would potentially ruined Hua Yong's cover.

The reason why Wen Lang didn't paid for Gao Tu's bills himself before is because he didn't want to spoil Gao Tu. He has a history of friends only being around him because of his money & status, so he don't want Gao Tu to be like them if he gives too much. However, he does paid Gao Tu 3x more than everyone else, but Gao Tu doesn't know that.

As for Wen Lang's rude behavior, someone told me that it was because he was raised in a manipulative & abusive household, so he formed a defense mechanism of being rude & harsh back to protect himself. He pushes people away before they have a chance to get close, thinking they will betray him or attack him at any moment. He is so used to having his defense mechanism on a lot that it has become a normal behavior for him that he probably doesn't realize it is hurting people since he is a bit blinded by fear & other negative emotions.

By the way, I am not making excuses for Shen Wen Lang at all. He is a very harsh, rude jerk. I am just trying to understand why he do the things he does.

About your questions of "When will Shen get tired of abusing him? When Gao has a fatal reaction to the pain meds and injections. Will that be the deciding factor?", yep! I have seen that happen in real life to some people like Wen Lang where a huge traumatic thing needs to happen or a very serious confrontation to happen for them to realize the error of their ways. It doesn't happen all of the time, but most of the time. Episode 5 just got released and you are able to spot Wen Lang waking up a bit.

He could have paid anonymously, but given how dense he is, I don't think he thought of that. Plus, the ladies at the front desk would have gossiped just like they did when Sheng paid it. If Wen Lang have someone else hand over the money, that could work, but I don't think he wants to get other people involved. I think he thinks Gao Tu's high salary should be enough for now since he doesn't know that Gao Tu is giving a chunk of it to his father.

Gao wouldn't make more money if he works for Sheng since Sheng already has a personal secretary by his side and Sheng's company doesn't make that much money compared to Wen Lang's company. Even if Sheng's top personal secretary quit and there is an opening, it still wouldn't be enough since Wen Lang gives Gao Tu an income that is 3x higher than what is offered for that job.

I am very curious on Gao Tu's personal growth & Shen's redemption arc that will happen later.

A lot of people think the one-night stand scene with Shen Wen Lang will happen in episode 9 due to the emoji teaser revealed a few weeks ago. In the books, he resigns right after that, so maybe episode 10.

If I have to guess, episode 6 will be of Gao Tu recovering at the hospital, episode 7 might showed the second fight pheromone fight scene, episode 8 might be of Gao Tu discovering that he has a pheromone disorder (like his sister), and episode 9 will be the bed scene. I never read the book, so I am guessing.

I think it is safe for you to voice it out in the Pit Babe forum, specifically season 2. There have been tons of negative comments with some of them criticizing Charlie or Pooh's acting and a lot of people agreed with.

Kenta & Way were not in a romantic relationship. Tony forced Way & Kenta to have sex for Kenta to be an omega since Tony views him as a useless alpha. He wanted to use Kenta to breed kids.

I don't think Sonic tops North. Just because he is an alpha doesn't mean he is a top. Alphas don't need to be tops & omegas don't need to be bottom. If they explored the omegaverse more, it would be cool to see an alpha bottom & an omega top. If they don't want to do NC scenes, it will still be cool to see a feminine alpha & a masculine omega.

I haven't read the novel, but I just want to point out what I do know about the characters, according to the books.

Pete & Way are enigmas.
Charlie, Babe, Alan, Kim, Dean, & Winner are alphas.
Sonic is either an alpha or a beta, but people assumed he is an alpha due to there being no other beta characters.
Kenta used to be an alpha, but got turned into an omega by Way.
North & Jeff are omegas.

When they made the show, the author made a deal with the producers that the show wouldn't be in the omegaverse, even through there is an episode of Way trying to get Babe pregnant, so I don't really know. Basically, everyone who have powers are either an alpha or an enigma. I have no idea what is the difference between an alpha or an enigma in the show since they seem to be of the same strength. Jeff is an omega in the book, but he seems to be an alpha since Tony says in the show that he only adopts alphas/enigmas. The writing has logic flaws.

In the book, the secondary gender does not matter if a person has a power or not since Jeff is an omega with a power and Alan, Kim, Dean, & Winner are alphas that don't have powers.

Is it true that Shen Wen Lang is an avid smoker, but he stops smoking because Gao Tu has asthma? I saw a comment that says this on TikTok, but I don't know if this is true.

In the first episode, Gao Tu says to Hua Yong that Shen Wen Lang has hated omegas since middle school, so that was before they met in high school. The reason comes from trauma. We will know why later on.

Shen Wen Lang pays Gao Tu 3x more than what his job position offers. It hasn't been said in the show yet, but I think they will later on.

Plus, Shen Wen Lang was the one who gave Gao Tu a full-ride scholarship & a job promotion, so Gao Tu is very grateful to Wen Lang. I am so looking forward to Wen Lang's redemption arc.

It is not like he is in denial. He does not know at all that he has feelings for Gao Tu. He can't tell the difference between friendship & romantic relationship. Gao Tu tells him that he is in a relationship with an omega to hide his heats and Wen Lang has no reason to doubt him since he completely trust Gao Tu.

Season 2 is based off of volume 3. The reason why volume 3 is different from the other two volumes is because the first two mainly consists of build-up & introduction like most of season 2. Volume 3 is where all the action takes place. Season 2 has a lot of differences from volume 3, but it still has similarities, so it can't be adapted for a third season.

The first season is adapted from the first book and the second season is adapted from the second book, even though the book is split into 3 parts. If we were to have a third season, we would probably need to have a third book and the third season might get released in 2027.
