The author/artist wrote one of the finest pieces of graphic literature representing the social discrimination faced by minorities via race or sexuality in the form of a soft high school romance manga metaphoring the segregations by adding vampirism. a beautifully crafted story, where each character was given depth, background, value and originality. and all of that going to trash bc some drunk director and producer decided to make a joke out of it
Agreed, and I desperately need more of such healing feel-good slice of life dramas with no unnecessary dramas
clinic owner tried to stirr drama between the other doc and the FL, but the other doc was like, nah im not gonna tryto ruin a beautiful relationship, fk your fantasy ship. finessst drama ever <3
Orchid's character: kind, innocent, cute, charming, loving, Her character grows while she's with Dongfang Qingqang…
yes, she matures a lot. the drama is great in general if i ignore the FL's behavior. but the beginning felt like looking at a 10 y/o interacting with a 50y/o in a romantic format
I had no idea what was even going on the last 30 minutes of the film. garbage ending.
thats probably the most realistic ending they could have come up with. that relationship was not salvageable unless they pulled that stunt. but at least they stayed together. i liked this movie a heck lot tbh.
One thing is NOT right about the series. Heidi had to use her cells to save soo-in. This would cause soo-in to gain some of heidi's powers as the cells would intermix, as it happened in Izumi's case when he fought his mother. but soo-in was still weak as heck. That has to be a plot FLAW!!
For anyone wondering how the other parts of the franchise are : Og manga > OG anime >>> Netflix korean live action adaptation >>>>>>>>>>> japanese live action
Seol kyung hee was korea's Reiko Tamura. I almost cried. Reiko parasyte died protecting her child, and kyung hee parasyte died protecting her host's brother. feelings kicked right in! i was hoping they brought a Reiko tamura character and they did in the most gut wrenching manner. <3. beautiful remake
Omg Masaki Suda as Izumi?! Are we gonna see Migi for season 2??
hes the only reason i am watching. I generally don't watch adaptative live actions into another country. aka korean/chinese live action remakes of japanese anime, i feel it takes the authenticity out of it. but if they are including izumi, they are maintaining the authenticity of the original work. also suda masaki is love, turu love
My understanding is this [almost matches my Real life]. Female lead's mom passed away. Male lead's father passed…
no no. I get it. and there is nothing wrong with falling for "step siblings" whom you didn't even grow up with or were not even in knowledge of what happened. there is literally no relationship between the two, especially if adults when the parents married. My logical head finds no flaw in that, its that my societal upbringing is what is causing the issue for me. siblings, step siblings, etc any two people, who are related in any familial form , being in romantic love, is a taboo to my eyes. yes i know this is a me problem. and had this series been just this way then i would not have had any problem with it. BUT, thats not even my issue with this drama: original was nothing like this. there was no valid reason from the FL's parents to dislike the dude, just their own biased nature. but that scenario completely flipped here, because finally, here the parents had a good enough valid reason to say no. i think they had to bring a strong basehold for the parents to deny bc older lady- younger man marriages are much more common in china than korea. like they needed something of more material for the parents to act in that way.
also thank you for sharing your story. definitely helped me expand my own narrow perspective
