The L and R consonants both become N sounds when at the end of clusters (like syllables in Thai), and I 100% agree that it is much better to put an N in English, if that is the sound made. I don't get the Thai romanization. It is a cross between true transliteration and a vague transcription. Ford, Fourth and Forth are spelled differently but pronounced almost the same. In fact, I think Fourth and Forth are spelled the same in Thai and pronounced exactly the same (I could be wrong, so don't quote me. It may just be similar).

But alas, I am thankful for the subbing and the attempts at transliteration so I am grateful for what we have. I am by no means a language snub. I just like languages :)

I will be the bearer of bad news and tell you that Mork and Mhok and Mok are all the same word, หมอก can be transliterated as Mork or Mok. There is no R in this word. Listen closely how Thai pronounce it. The R is added in English to make the O different so it sounds closer to the Thai อ. I believe the H you are seeing in the subbing comes from the fact that there is a Thai ห in front of the M, which is really a tone modifier, but the ห sounds like an H in English, so maybe that's why.

Mork or Mok means fog, mist or the color gray. So, you have Fog and Day. Day can't see, Fog can. I have a feeling that Day can actually see things that Mok can't.

I think what happened here is that GMMTV decided to go with Mok as the official transliteration and so Jimmy changed it in his tweet. I like that decision because, as I said, there is no R. The O is just a bit shortened like the O in Lore.

As probably one of the biggest fanboys of this series ever, I am super excited.

I will most likely keep working on my goal of summarizing all of the original series episodes (I am up to season 2 episode 8).

Fair critiques. I have a friend who thinks there is something going on with New and GMMTV because everytime New makes something for GMMTV, it turns out boring and bland. However, the projects he has done on his own or for other channels, like My 12% or 7 Project, have been good (I personally loved the Peak/Boom and the Santa/Earth 7 Project). I think My 12% was good, but I know some ppl didn't like it because they didn't like Cooheart (Earth).

GMMTV just needs to aim for quality over quantity.

I don't think all of his work is poor, but that's a matter of taste. What I don't think should be in question is that he is one of the pioneers. Together with Andy Rachyd, and Cheewin Thanamin, they are sort of like the founding fathers of Thai BL. All three worked in Love Sick, which was the first proper Thai BL series. New directed Love By Chance, which was dropped by MCOT and picked up by LineTV and GMMTV. This cause a huge controversy and was a risky bet by all those involved. Love By Chance was a commercial success and the most watched series in Line TV until overtaken by 2Gether. All 3 of them also worked in Make It Right, which was the second Thai BL series proper and one of the first to be internationally successful. It also was the launch pad for Ohm Pawat's career. With the notable exception of Sotus, New Siwaj was involved in pretty much all the series that made the genere what it is today.

You may not like his directing style, but Thai people clearly did. I think he has more of a Thai style and appeals less to the international fanbase. His series do feel a bit more stock in the past.

Last little bit of BL trivia. The trio of New, Cheewin and P'Andy, also have been involved in helping launch the career of many of the most popular BL actors in Thailand: Earth, Phuwin, Neo, Ohm Pawat, Peak, Boom, White, Captain, Toptap, Gunsmile, Khaotung, Saint, Mean, Plan, Zeek, Drake, Frank, Gameplay, and Sing... I am sure I left a few.

I will say that lately, New and his company (Studio Wabisabi) have done the WORST series whenever he partners with GMMTV, so your prediction about this one going to be a stinker, may be true.

New (the director you are talking about) has done some good series (UWMA, My 12%, etc.) and some bad ones. He has also been involved in some historic ones too (Love Sick, Love By Chance and Make It Right). Personally, I don't think My Gear was that bad.

Besides, I had say to you Gypsy, "respect your elders" lol :) Without New, there would be no Thai BL. Look him up.

As someone who has dated enough guys to know a few Nicks and Bostons (or maybe I was a Boston or a Nick), I don't agree. Boston and Nick are made for each other. Nick is the guy who can make Boston stop being a man whore, because Nick is the guy who can make Boston see he is a person and not a f-toy. Boston is a man with serious self-esteem issues and right in that conversation Nick hits two key aspects for him: Boston's self-worth in terms of his talents as an artist, and Boston's fear that no one loves him.

For me that scene rates very high among all BL love confessions. It was beautiful. I almost shed a tear myself. :)

I guess I didn't. Animated usually is used in English to mean lively or spirited, but you are referring to the use of cartoon (animated series) sounds. I would have said cartoonish instead. The opposite of spirited is dull. I thought you were saying the series was dull. :)

Moonlight chicken didn't use any sound effects and to be honest a lot of the older BLs didn't. I don't think Not Me did, did it?

So that doesn't make it stand out to me. It is the emphasis on sex that I find interesting and different.
