I agree with a lot of what you are saying here. I should add that I too hated The Shipper at first, and still sort of do for its brutal ending BUT in every other aspect, it was one of the best BLs from GMMTV in 2020. Ok. It was the best BL from GMMTV in 2020. Acting was superb, the story was original and it had one of the best GMMTV actors (Ohm) paired with two highly capable actors, including two comedic genius (First and Jennie).
I sort of agree with your grading of FUTS and 2gether. I think I understood Sarawat as a tsundere so I get Bright's acting choices but the script was terrible and the only thing that saved it for me was Win's great acting ability and comedic timing. The scenes with Win and Gun were pretty funny.
The more I think about it, the more I think that 2Gether was a little bit better overall than FUTS, minus the pairings, which in FUTS were much better than in 2gether. Win and Bright have no chemistry.

There is a lot of "new fans" who came on board after Love Sick. Many of them came in with TharnType or 2gether. They don't appreciate the older BLs, and they tend to favor the more comedic BLs (e.g. 2gether) or the more explicit BLs (TharnType).

As a gay men, I enjoy seeing romance and kissing but I also like to see characyer development and interesting stories. My favorite BLs all have that in common. I dont want enuch characters but I dont need to see them make out in every episode.

I think you don't know what bromance is and I think it is a shame all you care about is "kissing". The best BLs don't usually have a lot of kissing. It is about that internal journey the characters make and how they realize they are attracted to each other. That's what makes it fun.

It's a coming of age story. Romance isn't the focus.
I don't consider this coming of age. It is more like a slow burn romance with a self-discovery component. I get why you say coming of age but that's not the focus here and to me, coming of age, is like a teen or young adult story. This is a more adult story IMO.

I wrote a blog analysis and critique about this series. I pretty much vented out some of my frustration. This show is far from perfect in my humble opinion. Did I enjoy watching it? yes but it does not make it to my top 5... I will say, as I point out in the blog, that in this saturated market of 2021, this series still stands out as one of the better ones (thus far). This is no Gameboys or He's Coming to me but it is a decent series.

This is the same director as TharnType and it shows. He likes drama. Aoey cried way too many times, alone, and I too didn't know what to make of it. The actor did his best. I dont blame him. I blame the director and his obsession with trying to make evil characters likeable. He did the same with Llong from TT. Thank God for Kaownah's amazing acting ability because otherwise it would have sucked too.
