Can someone please tell me about the breakup scene? I don’t mind the spoilers. I really don’t want to watch…
They don't really break up. They take a break because Ace needs to take care of some things but they act like they are not seeing each other forever. It was an OK scene, a bit overacted if you ask me but oh well.
I have a very specific pet peeve in the show -- Ken acts like he only learned to wear eyeglasses a week ago. He…
LOL I caught that too but teenagers are careless so IDK. I knew many guys who were like that and I also think it is possible this is his first time wearing glasses (there is a first time for everything, you know). So no, I don't think it breaks my suspension of disbelief. What did break it is that they spoke so much about having to pay the electric bill and they made it sound like they are sort of poor but now they have TWO houses? Really? Is the other house a short term rental or they just have so much money they can afford two houses? Do they sometimes also forget to pay the electric bill on the other one? Also, who's car is Ken driving? Did his friend just gave him the keys to his car just like that?
That really affected my disbelief a little more... LOL
Is A Kiss to Remember a spinoff of My Extraordinary?
Are you sure? I am getting the info from a separate source (also a pinoy person) who says they are indeed related and that it is a spinoff. I also heard another person comment the same exact thing sometime ago when the episode 4 aired. Both the actor who plays the brother and his "friend"/love interest here are in A kiss to Remember, though no one else from the same cast seems to be in it.
I have a mixed feeling about it, it is a good drama but not Consistent, I didn't understand how they are suddenly…
I dont know. I thought it was all very realistic. They are young enough that it could happen like that. I remember being more touchy than verbal with my first crush.
First of all, excellent episode! Thus far Ep 5 of My Extraordinary is one of the very few episodes of a queer or bl show I have watched that feels REAL. The awkwardness of that first love, the hiding things from your parents, etc. I have done similar things to what Ken did and my moms reaction (if she had found out) would be similar to Kens mom.
I hope this doesn't end up in tragedy. Kudos to the folks at Asterik for putting together such an amazing cast and putting so much heart into this show.
Now a note to the Sandee haters: She is a young teenager who is heartbroken and crushed. Cant we be less misogynistic and also get upset at Ken for ignoring and sidelining her? He was VERY cruel with her.
We also need to remember that Sandee doesn't have a mom. Perhaps she needed to tell Kens mom bc it is like her mom. I think its clear that there relationship is beyond friendship.
I liked the first episode. It was much better than Gameboys first episode. However, it lacked the fast pace that we got used to from Gameboys in the latest episodes. I was expecting this to really hit the ground running. It was not the explosive first episode I expected coming from Gameboys insanely amazing finale. But I think we should judge this show by itself.
The character of Fonzi was the only one who got a good genuine laugh out of me. He and Pearl have a lot of comedic chemistry (is that a thing? LOL). I also liked the girl who will play the "rival". She has a strong presence on screen. IDK why, she just seemed to be one of those people who has star power, like Pearl.
I won't rate this until I watch at least 3 episodes but overall this is a solid 8/10 for me. I hope it gets better, just like Gameboys did. First episodes are always tricky.
My only complain (yes, I have one) is that I wish the plot was built a bit different from Gameboys. It feels like they took a lot of ideas from Gameboys and used them in this show. Maybe it is just for the setup, and now things will be very different. Who knows?
All I know is I love Pearl and I wish this show well! Kudos to IdeaFirst for pushing the envelope and giving us the first international GL show ever.
sooo... right when they're about to enter uni you decide to drop it? LOL ok.. GJ getting to this point thoEdit:…
Thanks. Good info.
You and I have very different tastes in BL. While I too don't love High School BLs, I like a good coming of age story and I feel like this has been a cute coming of age story thus far. One of my favorite BLs is Love sick (I also like MIR), precisely because it is a great coming of age story.
This sounds a lot like what happened with the screenplay adaptation of Love sick: the character of Per was pretty insignificant in the novel but he became an important character with its own side story in the show. Golf also had a very prominent role in the series but not in the book. As far as I can recall, the character of Jeed was created for the series and did not exist in the book.

I understand your point but thus far I have been enjoying the flashback. At first I didn't like it because it was a flashback and we know later they are not BFs but we know they still talk.
Perhaps there is not much story to tell after the flashback and the meat of the story is in the the past.
BLs are all like this. They move in after a week together
Which BLs are you watching?
In Lovesick and Reminders, they never lived together.
In MIR, BookFrame move in together after almost a year of dating.
In ToL, HCTM and TT, they lived together as roomates before getting together.
I can probably keep going.
Off the top of my head, I can only think of Sarawat and Tine moving together very quickly BUT they had been dating for several weeks if I am not mistaken.
You say that's unrealistic to have sex this fast in a relationship when you just realize that you are actually…
I agree. Most gay ppl (including me)I know had sex first, before they started going steady. So I agree, if anything this show is more realistic than a Thai show.
LOL :P

I haven't watched LBC.
