Is an Asian thing. Is a very personal part of the body. Is meant to be cute. Japanese do it to. Usually the man to the woman so here we get the seme doing it to the uke.

I laugh every time because my husband says this to me all the time.

You lucky guys. My partner says the same thing to me. And I too want to slap him every time. So yes, there are gay guys out there who say this.

This is exactly what I am thinking. This show is too Filipino and I'm not surprised people are having a hard time…
A non Filipino here who likes it :) Maybe we don't all have a "hard time digesting [it]" :)

How was episode one? Pass or fail? Or not enough? Getting Shokugeki no Soma vibes.
Sorry not familiar with that series but this show has the vibe of.... IDK Its like I am watching a cross between a Thai BL, a Mexican Telenovela, a Disney movie and a Korean drama. Take all those and rolled them into one, add some Pinoy spices and comedy bits and you got this. LOL

I liked the first episode.

can an admin verify that the rating is correct? It sounds too low for a show of this quality. Either someone is messing up with the rating system or something is going on with the algorithm.

I encourage those who are noticing this and don't agree to rate the show... I did and the score didn't budge up.... (I gave it an 8 for now)

Ok we can change it then. Easy to fix: Pan could have been the one to be on the books. She had plenty of time to say her goodbyes then Kim comes back because it wasnt his time to die.

Title The Shipper
I feel like I'm the only one who found the ending fitting. Maybe it's because I had always felt that this show…
Its a bit more complicated than that. The ending is just not sad, it is a sad ending for the GAY couple while the straight couple gets a happy ending. Pam, a character that I personally cared little for, gets the ending that in my view should have been reserved for Way who I thought was a character with a beautiful heart.

Heck even Phimphim got a good ending compared to Kim and Way, and Way was the only character who we never really got to see his negative or bad side.

I think that my problem with the ending is that we could have the same "lesson" if Pan had sacrificed herself and brought Kim back. She would have been the ultimate Shipper, honoring the name of the show, and we could have closure for Khet and his brother while having a happily ever after for KimWay.

The whole "I love you but I want you to go your own way" sounded so disingenuous to me. IDK just my opinion I guess. To each his own but is definitively more than it just being a sad ending.

My Day feels like a step back in time -- to a time when stereotypes were still funny, and one-dimensional characters…
In the 90s and 80s we didnt habe BLs so I am not sure what your point is.

If you think My Day is the only BL with one dimensional characters then you must not have seen Sakristan or Lovesick (Jeed) ... as far as bad acting and one dimensional characters go I dont think 2gether is too far. Sarawat was pretty one dimensional and so was Tines brother. I thought that Bright sometimes oversold Sarawat as cold and odd.

New in Dark Blue Kiss was pretty bad too. So, My Day is not that different from a lot of popular and highly rated Thai BLs.

Just finished watching it... I am so confused. This show didn't measure up to my expectations of what a Thai BL is: Fluffy, entertaining, happy, positive, queer content. Instead, we got a messy show that didn't know if it was a comedy, a straight drama, a full on lakorn or a BL.

I am torn with what to rate it at... The acting was superb (minus the girl who played Pan, I didn't liker her, there I said it.), and the production was good. The Angel of Death was great and First and Ohm were phenomenal.

One thing that stroke me about this show is, why pick Ohm Pawat, the Prince of BL, the legendary Book, the man who made us cry oh so many times in HCTM, to play a straight character in a BL? Well, without spoiling much, it boils down to the fact that you needed an actor with a unique set of skills to play Khet, an Ohm had those skills. Ohm was BRILLIANT as Khet.

Fluke was great. He is a good actor. Jennie was funny and refreshing.

The whole show was like a hot mess. Sometimes I didn't want to watch but I had to... It left me sad and happy at the same time.

As I said, I just can't decide if I want to praise it or give it a low score. I think I will settle for an 8, not good, not bad. :) Not my cup of tea...

MINI SPOILER----- DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCH YET

Now we know not all Thai BL dramas end with happily ever after.

I think you might be right but also consider how he died around Easter and they made a point of showing us Easter…
But if they had a season 2 planned it would be called Shipper: The Series. :)

I am with you!

I was so confused that the emotional scenes lost the punch. I mean, if its a silly show you expect a deus ex machina, not the type of ending we got. I felt like I was watching HCTM all over again but without the strong emotional connection I had with the characters in HCTM.

I have heard (and from what I can tell this is true), that a BL show with the word "Series" in it means that the…
Lakorn means drama so technically BLs are lakorne just likebhormones is considered a teenage lakorn.

This is why I think the OP is incorrect about the way she treats lakorns and series (or BLs) as separate from Lakorns.
