I was really confused. It was very unnecessary too... Like, who cares? LOLI think Gameboys is doing much better…
Not really. At the moment this episode aired, there were only two BLs from the Philippines. No pun intended, but this is a direct jab from Yap at Gameboys. I don't think Yap should care about this, which is why I said "who cares?".
I then made a prediction based on the fact that views-wise, Gameboys is doing much better. I should have been more clear on that. I didn't mean to say Gameboys is better but that it has more views, which I think is a better predictor of success. My prediction is that in the end, when all is said and done, Gameboys will have a higher number of views than Sakristan. Yap should be more humble and not boast about the fact that they trended (or not) on twitter. I don't think trending is a good metric for commercial success.
The who care comment still goes... I am watching both because I don't care if one is more successful than the other ;) and because I support them equally. I love Henry and Clifford and I want them to succeed!
I like the Wolf and Christian scene as well. They really looked like good friends who certainly love each other…
It wasn't a perfect scene. But it was the only scene where I felt that the actors did a good job and the script wasn't all cringe worthy. There was some awkward pauses but ehh, I am used to that now LOL :)
Loved him in Episode 4 of Sakristan. He looked so hot walking around on his sweat pants LOL Besides that, he seems like a very capable actor. He really sells the "good christian boy" look he is trying to portray. Kudos to him! I hope he gets the opportunity to be in a BL with better production values than Sakristan!
Episode 5 was a mess. I made some mental notes of all the weak points... 1) Editing and directing: Cool idea to go back and forth between past and present but it look weird to see the back of the actors when we already know who is missing (Christian). 2) A very weak coming out scene. Not the fault of the actors but more the script. The mom appeared clingy and needy. We have a hard time empathizing with her character, while Xtian was understandably apologetic but still something was missing. 3) A very annoying Xtian texting Zach and calling him way too many times. I understand he is freaking out but at least have him wait a minute or two before calling? It was painful to watch. Also, who sits on a toilet with pants on and a nice shirt on while the toilet seat is up? That was distracting 4) Directing was off too in the scene where Zach confronts Wolf's friend. Zach is screaming and seems too emotional for the scene. Yap needed to tell Pusing to dial it down a bit. 5) The scene with the kiss... First, it was so out of character as has been said here, but also what a bad kiss scene! We all know Clifford can kiss because he kiss Henry on the first episode so IDK what happened here... It was terrible. I think that's the WORST kissing scene I have seen in a BL, including MIR. 6) The running scene... what the heck? He is running for MILES? It seemed over the top. One or two running scenes would have conveyed the feeling we needed to see here... 7) The last scene was an attempt at humor that just felt so flat for me...
Anyway, if you run down my critique, you find one scene missing: The only good scene in this episode which was the scene between Wolf and Christian. That was a very good scene and the two actors actually had some chemistry. I wish they had them kiss instead of Zach and Wolf because they had 0 chemistry.
I hope the next episode is better and not worst. I may drop the show if it gets worst...
Could we stop accusing folks of things that have not been proven in court? If and when he is found guilty by a…
Well, let's see... Now you bring sexual abuse and assault. The rumor I heard was that he was involved in some incident in which he had sex or a relationship with a minor, someone 7 years younger than him?
But there is so much missing. How old was this person? How old was him? (either/or will work). In the Philippines the age of consent is 12, so to be in violation of the law, would be pretty bad. On the other hand, from a moral stand point, I can understand if he was 20 and the kid was 13 and people are upset, but again, nothing has surfaced either way. TBH for me, if he was 24 and the other guy was 17, I don't have a problem with that. Heck, Newyear, a Thai BL actor, started dating his BF when he was 17 and that was at least 5 or 6 years ago and they are still together. I think his BF was 20 back then... Here where I live the age of consent is 16 and most people wouldn't get too upset about such a relationship.
Having been a BL fan for so long, I am a skeptic when it comes to rumors. Did you see what happened to Bright and Gun? That's BL fans for you. Toxicity is part of the fandom and I just don't believe things unless I see evidence because people talk talk talk and tweet tweet tweet lots lots lots but that's easy to do.
Could we stop accusing folks of things that have not been proven in court? If and when he is found guilty by a…
Yes. I haven't seen anything thus far about him being arrested other than hearing people talk about it. The articles that talk about the show don't mention it and the guy is freely walking around.
And yes, at least in the US you can be arrested but not incarcerated while you await trial. Some people stay in jail pending the trial but this is not an implication of guilt. In fact, many lawyers will ask the defendant to dress up and not come to court with the jail jumpsuit because it makes them look guilty.
And in the Western world at least, you are innocent until proven guilty.
So for Yap, no guilty verdict = innocence = false accusations.
(Unless you believe the system in the Philippines is so corrupted that it will let a man accused of these kind of crime to walk free?)
I started watching it till now I would recommend it (I am at episode 24 in season 2) it is a lot more mature than…
Thanks! I am on episode 3. It is a slow process to get this produced.
I try to do a synopsis so I can get to comment on the scenes... Is a lot of work but again, what I am doing is unique as there are no full episodic synopsis or reviews of Lovesick.
So you will probably surpass me but I hope the info i provide for your first episodes is good...
That first episode is a mess so I strongly suggest you read my blog post on it after watching it (or even before watching it. There is not much to spoil LOL).
i'm pretty sure they meant like political correctness idk about sotus cause i watched it ages ago but i just rewatched…
I think that comment is a clarification as to what is yaoi. It is not a statement against kathoey. However, they do treat the Katoheysin this show as the butt of jokes so you are right in that part.

Hello. I think you should watch this show! It is a great show!
If you want more info on the show, I am currently rewatching it and writing synopsis and analysis of each episode in my BL Blog. If you are not familiar with the lovesick universe, I will provide a lot of info about the actors, characters, etc.
I’m pretty sure that the reason why this show has more views than gameboys is because it’s on a YouTube channel…
Interesting.
If what you are saying is true then I wonder if gameboys has MORE international fans than Sakristan. As of the last time I check, Sakristan had not turned on the CC editing feature so it only had English subs.
Gameboys turned on the CC editing feature and now has the show subbed to over 18 languages I believe....
So maybe most of the viewers of Sakristan are in fact Filipinos.
I was loving this until they threw in the girl in the middle trope. What a fucking tiresome piece of shit plot…
I am sorry but I don't agree.
First, if this is handled well, it could be great. Imagine that he broke up with his girlfriend but ended up having to be in lockdown with her because she has no where to go and neither does him? It is a great idea.
Second, we don't know yet WHO she is. It could be that she is a friend, her sister, his brother's girlfriend, his roomates girlfriend. Maybe when she called out "babe" she was calling out someone else.
Third, I think the reason this kind of plot device is still use is because a lot of Asian countries are just starting to have gay people become more open. In the mean time many gay man will experiment with woman first, and perhaps consider themselves bisexual. In other words, closeted gays are still common in Asian countries and one of the issues closeted gays have to deal is having an ex-girlfriend. So I think it is OK to have this as a common trope. Besides, imagine how Cai's blood will boil if he knows that Gavreel is living with his EX girlfriend? It is clear to me that Cai is less experimented than Gavreel, so this will make Cai very jealous. IDK I think it could work well if they do it in a way that is not cliche. We don't want to see them breaking up because of a girl and we don't want to see Gavreel saying he can't be out in public with Cai because he needs a girlfriend as his beard.
I then made a prediction based on the fact that views-wise, Gameboys is doing much better. I should have been more clear on that. I think Gameboys is doing much better and I predict the final numbers will favor Gameboys.

I consider my review more of a comment about the show and how it is going at the moment.
The review section is for reviewing the entire show. Unless there is an episode review section I have missed...

So all in all, I think its fine.
