O Mal Sun had none of these mannerisms in the 1st ep.

The other actors are doing a touching drama, Jung Ji So is doing over the top comedy. Why does she have a dialect, duck walk and cringey track clothes when O Mal Sun had none of these. Where is she even supposed to find these clothes in 2024. I hope today's episode focuses on O Mal Sun, otherwise I'm really tempted to drop.

The producers explained why their approach is different from the usual crime shows, if you scroll down you will find it posted.

They don't aim for realism in this drama.

indeed. Am glad the case is over and hope they don't return in that direction.

Ep 2 was considerably better. Kim Min Sung and Kim Eui Sung were father and daughter in Mr. Sunshine. Pretty great to see them running the inn together.

Propable drop, if ep 2 is not any different. Two actors, ML and FL, have exactly the same mannerisms: tightened lips, clenched jaw. Watching them makes my face hurt.

I think they just improvised almost all of the scenes. Based on just a very loose draft of a script. It didn't come out well. I like being honest about it, this is cringey to the max. Maybe I smiled a couple of times but the rest of the humour didn't land. I have to finish although at the middle of ep 11 it seems an almost impossible task. I waited for a turn to better but it never came. I stuck with this bc I loved S1. 5/10 and may even drop if ep 12 is as bad or worse.

I agree on all points. I don't think my sense of humour has changed though. I think they just improvised almost all of the scenes. Just a very loose draft of a script. It didn't come out well. I like being honest about it, this is cringey to the max. Maybe I smiled a couple of times but the rest of the humour didn't land. This is big news indeed. Just as I was contemplating cancelling my Netflix subscription bc too few new k-dramas lately.

Thanks for posting. These explanations are priceless. They did this drama with such clear goals and it's a glowing success, as should be. "Drawing the heart" as the second phase. Indeed. This is also how I understand the special qualities of Under The Skin.

lo_ve just can't be bothered with user comments. Without conscience but karma will do its job.

Leave this kind of content out of MDL. We don't want the actors to be hunted like animals for the sake of gossip. Only lowly human beings enjoy celebrity gossip.

Given the gravity of the topic, I felt things were solved too easily at the end. We saw the situation from the sister's viewpoint, which kept this lighter than I expected. Kim Yang character was also a very nice addition, he brought brightness and humour to this. A good watch, recommended. 7/10.

yes

I think he will be a main villain and the last episodes will focus on a single case (the red dress girl)

My rating went from 7.0 for the first episodes to end in 9.0. Not understanding anything at first but still keeping watching will bring a truly big reward at the end.

I also thought the episode about sex industry was realistic especially the scene with the S/M male client. This drama has utterly poetic cinematography (e.g., the garbage magic garden, the streamer girls' doll room) and the cases are fascinating.

I thought the episode where AI encouraged suicidal behavior was pretty realistic. This article tells just how realistic it was: "AI Chatbots Are Encouraging Teens to Engage in Self-Harm", https://futurism.com/ai-chatbots-teens-self-harm

This is not a bromance or BL, Yi San uses scribe Nam as a discussion and debate partner to weigh the wisdom of his actions. Of course anyone can add their own interpretations, but in this particular drama that gives so much food for thought about the ethics of history writing, that lens means missing the key content.
