I was shocked by the nudity but I’m not surprised as it’s goes with the era being portrayed. It’s actually…
The childish-naive-only-romance-watcher theory. Always applied in this site to underline the superior taste and opinion of the commenter.

people should understand that we are all different too
The crowd here has turned into a mob that makes fun and laughs at people who don't like to watch explicit sex scenes. Bullies, imo. Can't expect respect on this site.

This content and situation would easily have made a good 20-40 episode sageuk. We would have learned all about why the clans fight with each other, what is at stake. We would know how the situations and strifes evolved, from the very start. We would have started from the childhood of the main characters. We would get to know all the characters, including supporting ones, through and through. We would have deeply cared about happens to them. We would have understood every party's motives and goals, and had the chance to reflect ourselves on where people make mistakes. We would have been shown how the new king or prime minister is just as ruthless as the previous one after all this fighting (as in Empress Ki). I also noticed that people who think this is "one of the best historical dramas" or "refreshingly different historical drama" have not actually watched the classic sageuks at all. With classic sageuks I mean (of course) Six Flying Dragons, Tree With Deep Roots, Scarlet Heart Ryeo....I don't think I can ever forget the personalities of the main characters in these dramas. Now we get 2 minute characters. And a lot of meaningless killing and violence which we're supposed to enjoy? (with the 2 minute characters). It's wondrous how some watchers have the skill to expand, have by their own imagination expanded, this 8 hour drama into a full fledged story.. I'm not talented that way. I remember looking at the close-up shot of the White Wolves leader's face and thinking "holy hell this definitely was not made for me." Definitely a different historical drama, but not in a good way, imo. But I know already that it'll sweep all the awards bc there are very few of us purists who really appreciate the distinct qualities of k-dramas and those giving awards do not.

One thing that amazes me is people's skills to get so much story out of what little we were actually shown (with the 2 minute characters). It's wondrous how they have in their own imagination expanded this 8 hour drama into a full fledged narrative. I'm not talented that way. I remember looking at the close-up shot of the White Wolves leader's face and thinking "holy hell this definitely was not made for me." Definitely a different historical drama, but not actually a k-drama, imo. I wonder why people who like Game of Thrones and are able to watch it even are on this site, but that's of course none of my business.

SK is a nation of children bc it demands that celebrities are role models. In most countries celebrities are expected to be the bad behaving kids.

The idiot childish fluffy romantic drama watcher theory. Making assumptions about why people like or dislike particular dramas will satisfy your sense of superiority which is what most commenters using the theory are after. Pls try to stick to commenting about the drama, not bashing other watchers.

I only watched the first episode and saw a disturbing scene that reminded me of the Game of Thrones atmosphere.…
I hated The Glory quite intensely, and I saw that it was a turning point too. I'm finding great older k-dramas too, I loved "Never Twice" and "My Unfamiliar Family". Will check out Two Weeks.
