Or show how the Bo're Life impacted her with her brotherly relationship with XL. That could be another reason for her caring about XL that would make sense imo, since everyone was emotionally impacted by the dream.

The problem is they've spent too much time on showing TTJ's development that they've neglected fleshing out LSS as well. This is why everyone is getting angry or confused as to why she cares so much about XL other than the fact that he's an obviously good person.

Yep totally. In the novel, (if you don't mind novel spoilers) the puppet spell happened when she was still enemies w/ TTJ, so it made sense for her to hate him. But here....they made him too good and it just doesn't make sense. Not for me lol. He crossed the line for me when he raped her more than once. I get he's evil and whatever but sexual violence is not something I can stomach for romance.

In the novel, it was much better how XL dying went down because they were still enemies. At that point, she really hated TTJ and it made her grow up.

It's really hard to understand why she's doing it this way in the drama without trying to talk with him first. She literally says to XL that TTJ won't kill him -.-

In the novel, they weren't together and still enemies when he used the puppet spell on her to kill XL. The drama changed a lot of plots, some for good (thankfully took out all the rape and tortue), some for worst as we've seen with LSS's illogical actions.

Yep I know, I've read until the Tower Scene which was very satisfying because he truly deserved all that pain. I honestly didn't like him in the novel.

This is also true. TTJ is not a normal person either, he's just as black and white as LSS can be and even more vindictive which makes sense with how he's grown up but that doesn't make him a healthy person to be in a relationship with. I also mentioned this in a comment, but the way he keeps an eye on her at all times is also really creepy. Again makes sense, but also shows he still doesn't truly trust YXW/LSS either.

Of course, he's also reacting in such a ruthless way b/c with YBC's poison, he's probably going to think that she's trying to kill him for XL and that her love was all an act. So it makes sense that he's so ruthless, especially with how he's grown up. Which doesn't justify his actions of course of the Puppet Spell but it makes more sense than LSS immediately resorting to drugging him to help XL escape rather than first trying to talk to him.

Totally agree that they needed to flesh out LSS's character more. Like show her attachment to her family and her sect through memories and whatnot, especially with XL - he's her senior brother's past life (actually I'm not sure if this is the case in the drama, can't remember) but even just looking like her senior brother and being such a good person is enough to make her care about him in a special manner imo.

But like you said, since we didn't get to know her family / sect / senior brother, we can't see her internal struggle at all nor understand why she cares about XL a lot nor why she's so prejudiced against TTJ. (Imo her immortal upbringing and not just watching them die at the Devil God TTJ's hands makes her even more hateful towards TTJ throughout the drama, but the way they showed it is......very weak imo).

I definitely wish they'd shown us just why she's trying so hard to save XL. It just came out of nowhere imo. From my perspective, she cares about XL not only because he's obviously a good person, but also because he's the past life of her senior brother. So I can understand caring about him and not wanting to watch him die, but the way she's going about it is so, so wrong and so stupid, as if she didn't know how TTJ has been betrayed / lied to his whole life -____-

In the novel, it doesn't happen this way. They weren't on good terms at all when TTJ put the spell on her to kill XL.

Totally agree about her prejudice towards TTJ. She keeps assuming the worst out of him - it made sense at first, with her trauma of watching her family die at his hands in the future and also her immortal upbringing (which leads to black and white thinking imo), but at this point in time it's just not justified at all. Like why does she not try talking with TTJ about XL first???

The mission is to destroy / extract the evil bone from TTJ so that he can't be reborn / resurrected as the Devil God. The extraction would kill him in the process, as far as I understand, which is why LSS is so conflicted now that she's in love with him.

I'm sooooo glad they changed TTJ in the drama........like raping her was too much for me, idk how people can still want them together after that.

LSS is no better than YXW? I mean YXW was really cruel and arrogant to everyone...I think LSS is being really illogical right now but I don't think that makes her as bad as YXW...maybe I understood wrong, so feel free to correct me lol.

(Also XL is very special to her....he's the past life of her senior brother, so I can understand why she wouldn't let him die, even if it's obviously wrong how she's going about it)

IMO it could've still developed that way if she tried talking to TTJ about releasing XL --> He becomes super jealous and angry at her, refuses and says something 'evil' about idk keeping XL there until his death or whatever --> She also gets angry and decides she can't stand by and let her senior brother's past life die like that --> Sleep potion in porridge w/ poison from YBC --> everything that will happen later on.

This would've been a lot more logical imo. Still very annoying but at least she didn't immediately resort to going behind his back and/or assuming the worst of him like she did before. And it would also show that TTJ isn't perfect and still needs to work on his emotions and thought processes, b/c his perspective is very black and white (which makes sense with how he's grown up obviously).

Well I agree...but XL isn't just anyone for her, he looks exactly like her senior brother that died saving her in the first timeline. I think they even mentioned that XL is her senior brother's past life (at least he is in the novel, I don't remember if he is in the drama). So yeah...I can understand why she's willing to go so far for him, even if her methods aren't logical at all and are putting her mission at stake.

I also think we're forgetting that XL is the past life of her senior brother, who died protecting her from the Devil God. Even just looking and acting like him, without the whole past life thing, would make LSS try to save him at all costs imo. Even then, the fact that she didn't try to talk with TTJ first, especially knowing how guarded he is, makes her seem really illogical in my eyes. At least they should've shown some reason / thought process as to why she's not even trying to persuade him first....

Like I wouldn't mind if she still did the sneaky tactics if she tried talking with TTJ first and he refused all jealous and angry and stuff, but oh well. Maybe in the next episode they'll expand on her thought process more but I won't keep up my hopes.

Honestly tho....I do get annoyed at LSS, even tho I get she's going so far for XL b/c he is her senior's past life or something like that. But couldn't she just talk to TTJ first??? I would understand her resorting to sneaky tactics if TTJ had gotten jealous and angry at her for trying to get him to release XL and shutting down the possibility or saying something "evil" or whatever. But immediately resorting to sneaky tactics, knowing how guarded and sensitive to betrayal he is, is extremely stupid and shows she really doesn't trust TTJ at all.

At the same time, I find TTJ always having an eye on her also a demonstration that he doesn't really trust her either. Like...she sneaks away for a while and he knows the next second, which is kind of creepy tbh. I get why, it makes sense with how much everyone has betrayed or left him behind and stuff but still.... that's something he needs to work on if they're truly going to be together later on. It's like walking on eggshells with him tbh, one thing out of line and it's over (sort of, maybe not as extreme but kind of feels that way).

Lastly my feelings about YBC are mixed. She's just pure selfishness here...idk I just feel that she wants to be like YXW, to have her family adore and let her do whatever she wants and to have a high status. In the novel, I think it made much more sense how she turned out to be - she took the love threads when she was a kid after supposedly seeing that that in her future YXW would take everything away from her or something like that. That would mess anyone up tbh, especially a child, and would explain why she stole the love thread, goes so far to compete with YXW and stuff later on. But in the drama.....she just comes off as ungrateful and unloyal and whatnot, even if the Ye family is full of sh*t imo. Really wish they'd made her character more compelling, I didn't like her that much in the novel and here even less, but I don't hate her either. I just see her as a flat boring character, the typical second FL -.-

My feelings about the dream arc are mixed, even when I read it in the novel. Actually I think I like it more in the drama because in the novel, Ming Ye was a big asshole lmao and I was glad he didn't get with Sang Jiu 😌

Anyway, just like when I read the novel, I definitely miss our original characters and kind of felt this arc was dragging b/c it's not my cup of tea. At the same time I really liked the sweet scenes btwn MY and SJ (altho that rape scene was horrible and wish it didn't happen, but at least it wasn't the original characters' actions). I also get why it's important and stuff, and enjoy that they expanded on the war with the original Devil God.

Nonetheless, I think they could've come up with a better way to write the story btwn MY and SJ, because Tian Huan's schemes are so obvious and low level that it makes MY and SJ look so dumb for falling for them...Like in the novel she was much more low profile, altho not much smarter but more sneaky at least. Here it's like......they can talk with each other! Especially considering they already liked each other unlike in the novel.

Anyway, really glad it's over soon because I need TTJ and LSS back already!

I haven't watched it yet...in what ways did they change the FL's personality? (i've read the original comic)
