I think what I liked most about this drama is the female lead's character. Like yes, she still needed a lot of fleshing out, etc. but at least she was smart, cunning, and never let others walk all over her nor made any mistakes that made me want to rip my hair out from how stupid she's being xD All in all, I'm glad she was capable yet not boringly perfect with an interesting personality.
Are there two groups subbing this or something? Bc idk, the subs at YoYo English Channel don't seem /that/ bad to me....like they're not the best but I can follow for the most part.
Loved this drama completely! Sure, it had its flaws and several plot holes and some stuff I'd wish they'd expanded on (Lu Yunqi's backstory, some more on Jiuling's father as well as mother, etc.), but overall it was v entertaining!
I LOVED the ML, for me Jin Han was v handsome (all tho the hair in that last scene, poor him xD) and Zhu Zan was truly the best w/ Jiuling. As for the FL, I liked Jiuling but a little too perfect for my tastes tbh, I actually liked when she a little more emotional and not always on top of things (like when she saw that girl and got dazed, i'm guessing she saw herself in her....). Of course, Ning Yunzhao was wonderful, just a littttttle boring me tbh - he's scenes w/ FL were so....boring, I had to fight w/ myself not to skip the last farewell scene lmao! But still, his actor Wang You Shuo is my fave so I still love him! Anyway, Fang Chengyu was cute lil brother and Lu Yunqi.....was something. I truly hated him, so the actor did well, but still ugh hated him completely --- truly shows why I hate possessive and obsessive male characters.
Overall, it was a very fun drama to watch and I hope we have more like it in the future!
Forgot to mention, even the villains are great in this. Especially the 2nd prince....I think he ended up being…
Yes, he really was the best! I also REALLY liked that his good relationship with his consort, it really gave depth to the character. Usually they make the villains treat their wives or concubines horribly so it was refreshing they didn't this time!
There is a love triangle in the sense there's a 2ML that is super in love with the FL. However, the FL is never truly aware of his feelings until the very end, and there's almost no (romantic) misunderstandings about the ML or FL's feelings towards each other. Just the typical jealousy scenes that (mostly) get resolved rather quickly.
Sure, but it happened twice lmao. The first time is sort of forgivable (I say sort of because Xu Jin literally…
Yes, she has known her master and her maid for many years, a lot more than Xu Jin. But after going through a life and death situation with him, AND being accused herself of a crime she didn't commit with the flimsy evidence, to turn around and do the same to the person who literally defied the Emperor to save her is stupid and irrational as hell.
I'm not saying she couldn't doubt him, but to try and kill him without even trying to confront him first is too much.
Idk why you’ll are expecting for her to put trust on anyone but let me just say her character is designed to…
Uh....Fu Rong is a spoiled and naive young lady, she has been very trusting right from the start - did you not see her trusting Prince An until almost the very end? She only said that phrase after her master REPEATEDLY didn't answer her questions about her work in Ruyi Pavilion and her travels, and she only started asking those questions because Xu Jin told her her master might be involved with the corruption cases...
And if you're talking about her dreams...it's obvious she didn't tell anyone because who would believe her lmao? Esepcially since she has the reputation of being a troublemaker and lying to get out of trouble. Her family might even reprimand her for daring to involve herself with royalty, especially since her family isn't powerful at all.
Okay for everyone who’s like giving bs to Fu Rong for making assumption if you think about this takes place…
And y'know there's nothing wrong if you're just here for the cliché romance, I get that. But people are also allowed to criticize what they don't like, especially if they were expecting something much better than the rushed plot we got.

Sure, but it happened twice lmao. The first time is sort of forgivable (I say sort of because Xu Jin literally risked his life and reputation and position to save her, while Prince An did...what exactly?), but the second time???
Imo, they should've had her NOT doubt him the second time to show how much she's grown and how much stronger their relationship is now.
They've been married for a while at that point, and Xu Jin has shown many many times how devoted he is to her and how much he cares. Doubting him a second time and thinking he's the kind of person to kill her father is.... Extremely stupid and makes her seem so ungrateful and irrational.
That's why people are so upset she didn't trust him the second time around.
