Iqiyi updated the description in TDHR's page. There were rumors again that this drama was going to air soon before the summer vacation. Maybe they're trying to give some hints and see peoples reaction. I hope they're actually planning to air it this time, instead of giving false hope like last november...
Ahhh! So happy to hear that. finally! 🥳 .Let's all pray that tencent change its mind and give us the prisoner…
I think because a lot of people are still anticipating the drama they probably want to stay lowkey to avoid more troubles. But i feel like we'll get some news in the next 2 months. I read that they want to change TPOB's chinese name(it seems true). That means that when it passes the review it'll got a license under the new name and they'll have to change every promotional material with the new name. Something similar happened with the glory recently. It got a new license with the new name few hours before they aired it and they had to change everything. I feel like something similar will happen to TGH too.

I know that the number of episodes increase or decrease after passing the review. I'm just a little worried it happened last year when things weren't certain(even know things are risky). And from what i know dramas from daylight ent. usually don't have extreme changes in eps. But i guess we'll only find out after it airs.. For TPOB i actually still wonder if companies can keep the information about passing review/getting license and release it the time they decide to. Because for example, CIC obtained the distribution license yesterday, when the movie one and only had a re-release and people were discussing if Song Zuer would be in it or not. It was definitely not coincidental. I believe we'll get news for TPOB in upcoming months but i don't think tencent would release it before her other 2 dramas. It seems like they're waiting to see people's reaction. For TGH i read that apparently they don't need a new license but not sure if it's true. Disney taiwan posted that it's coming soon so i feel like they'll air it before May ends.

My concern is, created in china actually passed the review last year. The episodes were reduced from 40 eps to 35. I hope the scenes that were cut out weren't mostly Zuer's scenes... Also there were rumors that TPOB would cut a lot of her scenes from the drama... I don't know if it's true and i'm scared to see the episodes when the drama finally passes the review, but if they're really gonna do something like that, i feel like it would ruin the drama. Reducing the main character's screentime will never be a good option for the drama.
Good news! Song Zuer's other drama 'Created in china' obtained a distribution license today. There were rumors a few weeks ago that it would air on Q3 this year. Also today there was the re-release of the movie 'One and only' in cinemas and none of her scenes were cut from the movie. So i think she is considered clear right now. I think we can have hopes for the prisoner of beauty airing sooner.
I’ve been noticing more and more that MDL, especially the c-drama community, has been gaining a lot of male…
No, i think you're the one who don't get it. The 'feminist debate' started after the fl's mother died and increased with each episode. Guess what, you're not the only person who is educated and mature enough to use your brain. I don't think any of the dramas recently are rooted in misandry and i don't need to put men down to feel better. Which by the way is so ironic when it's men that have been doing this for decades in media. Well, the term 'damsel in distress' doesn't exist out of nowhere. And even today most men have more presence and character in female centric dramas than most women in male centric ones. I don't know who you're kidding. I wouldn't go into politics but since you mentioned, let's also mention how most of the states who voted for trump were from the least educated states. It's also weird how you connected the increased support for the extreme right parties only with feminism like it's their only issue. I guess Andrew tate exists... And by the way i usually spend time in chinese social media and i can guarantee you that most chinese women love this drama and ZHY's character despite their flaws.

I never mentioned that it was you who said it. But you responded to the comment above, saying that it's the people like them who create a gender divide. The comment was clearly meant for those who were talking about 'feminist shit'. Even tho i think those aspects in the drama are sometimes on a superficial level, for a sensitive topic like this, i disagree on the take that they make this drama worse. This drama has always been about women. And Ming dynasty is one of the most misogynistic dynasties in china, rooted in confucian values. Women in that period suffered A LOT because of it. And i'm sure chinese women would prefer a drama like this than a more 'realistic' one for that period. I mean, we don't have a lot of ming dynasty inspired dramas for a reason. Also, the fact that you said you agree with those people says a lot about you. Let's not talk about equal rights in a world where women still suffer from inequality.
the age is not a reason because that age in ancient times is more grown up than 25 or more if this time 🤗,
Oh wait, i didn't mention it but she already loves him. But she has mixed feelings about him and love is just not the priority for her right now. As i said the relationship within the family will definitely improve anyway. She doesn't hate them. And she actually cares about Azhi, otherwise she wouldn't be so scared when she heard about the house burning, or wouldn't give her a hairpin to protect herself. But it's just that she's broken right now and wants to deal with her father

The ml is sick(we don't know the details yet). That's why he was trying to find a strong woman, so when he's gone she can take care of and protect his family. In exchange, he will make her the most noble lady in the countly within a year and will help her get revenge(after her mother's death). He didn't tell her about his illness but that was their main deal. She agreed. She will protect his family in exchange but showing love is not part of the deal. Even tho we can see that the relationships within the family will improve later anyway, what she wants now is revenge. He fell in love with her but probably wouldn't admit it easily, since he's sick. And she doesn't know about his feelings, as he has many secrets and made the marriage proposal as a deal(in a way she would 'prefer'). Right now, i think we'll see an improvement on their relationship after she finds out about his illness.

My grandmother had her first child when she was 12 and my mother when she was 17. They had a hard life and did a lot of things by themselves because they had no other choice. Only years later they realized that if given a chance, they would make things differently. So i'm saying this again, being mature for your age because of circumstances DOESN'T mean you're actually a fully developed person. Someone who is 17 year old is NOT a fully developed grown person. And managing households is something they were taught since they were children, of course they're gonna use these abilities. This doesn't mean anything.
Hard disagree. It's not misogyny as long as it's not uniquely about women. Parents have an obligation to be parents.…
Ok but why she has to return the hug when she herself doesn't feel well mentally? She lost her mother less than a week ago. And you said it yourself, she was kind to her before. That one moment she didn't feel well and was more distant. So what? You guys are talking about it like she abused her or something.. Seeing comments for that particular scene.. honestly it's hard to say it's not misogyny...
her mother, step father and brother just died. anyone would be emotionally disconnected at this point. I think…
Only a few people know about her mother's death, and he wasn't one of them. And again it's not just about him. Honestly i don't even understand your point. I read your comments and it seems like you just wanna hate on the fl. If you hate the main character so much maybe it's better to drop the drama and watch something else.
the age is not a reason because that age in ancient times is more grown up than 25 or more if this time 🤗,
This drama takes place in ming dynasty. Women were considered eligible for marriage when they would turn 15. The reason they were married this young is not because they were mature enough but because of high mortality rate. It was out of necessity. China also always faced imbalance in their population ratio. But all these have nothing to do with people being actually developed or not. They weren not. It doesn't matter if they were considered mature in the past, because we know they weren't. For Hanyan, her age aside, her whole life has been a torture. No, she's not supposed to show love right after losing so many people and getting through traumatic experiences. She wasn't even cold to Lingzhi, she was just distant and was still trying to smile through pain.

Still, a 12 year old wouldn't give birth in most cases, even in ancient times. Also, no, being mature because of hardships doesn't make her 'older'. Otherwise we wouldn't have the age system we have now. Ancient people didn't, but we know that a 17 year old is not developed enough

Well he was her half brother after all. The what ifs can haunt people's mind. And don't forget our fl is a character who didn't resent her mother at all after everything she did to her in the first episodes. And she previously stated that she never hated her half siblings. Also it's not even just about her brother. Everything probably just felt too much to her.

She was definitely distracted on her wedding day and even cried on the ceremony. Someone should be blind to not notice that she wasn't in the mood to comfort someone. The deng family story is a few days later and it's clear the whole situation reminded her of her mother
