I enjoyed QOT thoroughly last year as you did. I watched it with subs and then rewatched each episode with dubs while doing chores while waiting for the next one to drop. And remakes are never as good as the original.

But I can't rewatch it again unless someone uploads a supercut of just Ji Won's scenes — or just every moment of screen time without him in it. I would watch that!

If there is a master puppet master in this IRL makjang drama, my guess for who it would be is the CEO of Gold Medalist studio. The CEO currently goes by the name Lee Sa Rang, after having changed it once or twice for unknown reasons. LSR is KSH's older half-brother on their mother's side. At one point KSH referred to him as his cousin. What if LSR is setting KSH up as a fall guy while he schemes for his own self-preservation?

LSR produced the soft porn movie Real (2017) and also stepped in as its director (uncredited) after the original one left. The film starred KSH and co-starred Sulli, whose story is as tragic as that of Sae Ron's. Her nude scenes resulted in her being trashed by the entertainment media and cyber-bullied. And she suffered anxiety, panic attacks and depression. In 2019 Sulli made the drastic choice to take her own life. Neither KSH or LSR ever said or did a single thing in support of Sulli. Instead, they abandoned her to the hungry media hounds to tear her apart.

My favorite chuckle was when GM's lawyers argued, 'Our client who never dated Sae Ron nor ever visited her apartment is subject to embarrassment & fear of sexualization from people viewing the nudie pic of him wearing her mother's blouse while washing dishes in her apartment!'

Regarding KSR's possible marriage & abortion, so far there have been released:
- a few photos accompanied by the word "Marry" were uploaded to Instagram by KSR
- A total of three audio voice recordings spanning two videos were uploaded to YouTube by Lee Jin Ho
- A total of two livestreams via YouTube were presented by Garosero

KSR's Instagram post appeared only briefly and featured photos of herself along with her presumed then-boyfriend/alleged-husband. The post included a single word: "Marry". KSR subesequently told the media that the marriage rumors were untrue.

The first of the three voice recordings was captured by KSR's manager's phone and the conversation is between between himself & presumably KSR as they discuss the photos, her marriage & pregnancy. Her family disputes the rumors and do not think the voice belongs to their daughter. The manager released a statement: "I never provided the transcript or gave consent to Lee Jin Ho for its release. He uploaded the video without my consent." [Note: he says the word video instead of voice recordings because LJH's video includes the audio accompanied by subtitles, in Hangul. The male voice has been scrambled to mask his identity.] There has also been pushback on the authenticity of the first voice recording by both C-Netizens & Chosen Sports. This analysis shows evidence that the audio has been manipulated, with gaps (shown as black spaces) in between audio clips. On Garasero's first of the two livestreams, he conveyed the family's reaction to the first voice recording. They had never heard of Sae Ron having married, and rejected the allegation that their daughter had had an abortion. He also presents the mother's response in the form of a pre-recorded video featuring her handwritten letter accompanied by narration. It is explained that the mother wanted to record herself reading the letter, but was too exhausted to do so. An AI voice was used in her place.

The second and third voice recordings are allegedly between KSR's manager and a close female friend/co-worker of KSR. This conversation was recorded on the day of KSR's death (also KSH's birthday) and includes discussions about KSR's marriage, spousal abuse, her pregnancy, and abortion.

He further claimed that "after interviewing late Kim Sae Ron’s friends, 90% of them stated that Lee Jin Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, and his agency were linked to the reasons behind Kim Sae Ron’s death. They argued that Lee Jin Ho's claims about Kim Sae Ron's pregnancy, marriage, & abortion within the span of a month were entirely unrealistic."
