Does anyone else feel that the comedic aspect of the drama is a bit over the top? It just didn't suit the dark…
Yes, very much. I get a revenge drama might have lighter moments and some comedic relief, but the comedy here is at times slapstick and feels off for the overall tone of the drama.
The way Marquis was momentarily sensing what was going on, the cuts to his men being killed, look on face, like he realised it was over for him, and not just about the son he never cared about...I might be wrong seeing the scene this way. My only disappointment it almost gave him some kind of humility. But then again I found myself strangely warmed up to the Marquis only a few episodes earlier. Drama kinda messes around with our moral compass at times.
to me every time i feel there is a plot hole , it starts making sense in next 2-3 eps...like a puzzle i think…
I know what you mean. For example, the Marquis's letter written in blood from prison. I thought to myself, how the hell did ZH's friends just intercept it and replace the letter...All part of ZH's predictions and plan. Ok it's a bit of plot armour, but kind of makes sense too and not entirely implausible, the way ZH is reading the situation and his enemy's moves.
My princess I trust her. So does Zang Hai ig. Maybe that's why didn't kill her yet. I believe she's not fish3…
If princess is truly the third enemy it wouldn't be revealed this early. Child prodigy or not, she was way too young at the time to have that kind of power. Surely she was being manipulated or used. This is the CP big falling out and part of the romance subplot before they start to understand each other and also a segue into the Dongxia subplot. Agreed ZH carrying away princess ๐ Ep 24 was intense and so satisfying seeing the Marquis's family suffer. No quick deaths, slow torture and painful deaths for them all (except ZZX).
Even though he sort of gives his reason, Iโm not sure why the master brought him back to his old home where…
I found the house scene traumatizing for Zang Hai. The scene where he meets the Marquis in the secret room was so creepy and probably more than convinced ZH how sick Marquis is. His micro expressions shows this.
Excuse me, do you think Xiao Zhan wasn't active? It's clear that you're not a follower!
I fortunately managed to catch LOCH in cinemas in China whilst on vacation there...It was not accessible to all international audiences who wanted to watch the movie, so I feel lucky to have seen it. Hence, I know what you mean when you say it has been a XZ "drought." I still feel like it has been a XZ drought even though I saw quite a lot of his posters and ads around China. I'm sat for LZH and counting the days.
I agree it is best to see LOCH in a theatre if possible. Happened to be travelling in China and finally managed…
Wouldโve loved it to go the LOTR way and have a trilogy with proper fleshed out characters and story line. However, LOCH seems like it aims to deliver a theme/message and to commemorate and pay homage to the novels (and 80โs series), thus a standalone film. Still entertaining though.
Saw it tonight with a friend in NYC; Iโll write a review in the coming days but a solid 8/10. Loved the martial…
I agree it is best to see LOCH in a theatre if possible. Happened to be travelling in China and finally managed to watch it whilst in Nanjing at a Cinity cinema about a week ago. LOCH is no easy feat to capture into a 2-ish hour movie and they did a a pretty good job. Understandably a lot of story and characters had to be left out and much of the backstories are shown in fragments. But it still feels epic.
