Avenue X is not a reliable reviewer. Due to these types of reviews I have not bothered to subscribe. I have tried to watch several reviews but no, not a go-to for c-dramas.

CP, YQ and LM all need a trip to the village for some therapy.

The scenes in the village are so therapeutic, watching our CP happy and healing at a wellness retreat…Trailer for Ep 19 tho, ramping it up again. Can’t wait.

Any of us who has watched an historical c-drama or two guessed who was the culprit behind the Qingzhou fire within the first two episodes .Appreciate the show doesn’t beat around the bush, quite a brave move on show’s part as many thought ‘plot was over and now what..’ I admit I had some reservations about where story would go from there but seems to be plotting out just fine so far.

This is why show makes a clear distinction between who is the real psycho and who is not very early on. We just wanted to watch LXY be deliciously wicked for a bit longer.

CP always knew Lao San was the favoured son and resents it. You are right that he doesn’t know how to appreciate/understand kindness from his father and empress - all because of his insecurities. He lacks emotional maturity. For him it justifies his own actions.

Will go watch this scene again.

Oh yes see what you mean. CP full on evil…YQ more disappointed in life but also being a bit of a disappointment. He isn’t a strong person, I mentioned somewhere else that I think he is corruptible.

I’d be interested to find out how and why she becomes entangled with CP as she is not particularly power hungry, is she starved of love, not particularly but is obsessed with MJH, maybe she is using CP?…

Hmm…not bad surmising. BWJ has such a mild unsuspecting face but admittedly is doing a fairly decent job putting on the evil look it’s almost creepy.

Hard to think what kind of epiphany CP could experience to bring that about, interesting thought.

Damn that is pretty sick. Missed that bit - will have to revisit some scenes and episodes.

Lou Mei is symbolic of his obsession to win against ‘Lao San’ (Jinghe). CP doesn’t have the capacity to love.

Yep when I saw trailers for Ep 16+17 I was also starting to think exactly that.

Watch trailer for Ep 17. CP is truly a monster…Other than the trauma of not getting to know his birth mother he was treated well by his father and Empress (MJH’s mother) so there’s not even the excuse of childhood maltreatment or abuse to explain his behaviour…he has an inferiority complex and is greedy for power, no redeemable qualities whatsoever.

It deserves to be watched by many. Some powerful moments in KMLM not to be missed.

LOTR action/cgi budget was thousands of times the budget they would have here - the post production company was set up just for LOTR. The drama has done a great job in executing this action sequence. Fun to watch.

Whatever….we enjoyed it. I’m always amazed what C-ent can achieve with their limited budget. I have worked in the film industry back in the days of The Matrix and LOTR and moved within circles of production and crew who worked on these films and know how expensive/involved action sequences are. So no need to treat viewers here like we are naive. They did a good job in KMLM.
