I hate to say this but I felt a bit let down this episode. I wanted more time on the wedding, I was curious how…
At times it’s so rush. Sometimes you just want to get more emotional pay offs or a more satisfying reaction when an incident resolves. But enjoying the drama otherwise.

Because of the FL I find it hard to connect with the romance and given this I wish there wasn’t any romance.…
Yeah, being opposites can be a good thing when they can compliment or balance each other eg extroverted vs introverted. It remains to be seen whether or not they will want the same thing in life.

That's her nature, just as the male leads character is imperfect, he just needs some one like her in his life.…
Have liked most of his FL, Li Qin has worked most with him and their natural chemistry with each other shows.

But ML isn’t a picnic either. Just because the actor is handsome, it’s easy to overlook his flaws. If in real…
I agree with you that we can sometimes narrowly misjudge female characters in this way. I do understand what the drama is trying to do with Ai Chen's character and her worldview. If there is one criticism I have of the drama is perhaps the initial portrayal of Ai Chen. Perhaps the director went a bit OTT initially with her rough and loud personality, maybe it's just for comedic/slapstick purposes, but from the comments it has put some people off. But I think the director seems to know what he's doing and if you stick around long enough, Ai Chen's character can grow on you. (I don't particularly like Ai Chen and LZL as a romantic couple as some others have expressed, but it's not a deal breaker as there's so much more to enjoy about this drama)
Both Ai Chen and LZL have traumas, but Ai Chen is much more in touch with people and the real world than LZL. LZL has become myopic and his job has become his whole world. He sees his life as about saving a patient and then the next patient, and then the next, to the extent that he forgets patients are also real people, which we see is changing as he starts to emotionally connect to the town and its people.

ML certainly has flaws of his own…he is blunt and insensitive at the best of times, which is just a tip of the iceberg when it comes to his flaws. For the first time XZ is playing a character, where upon first meeting the character and for most of the early episodes, I probably would not like to meet as a person. The character’s flaws are certainly not overlooked because he is played by yes indeed handsome XZ.
The FL has street smarts and she is intelligent not necessarily intellectual…The actress did a great job delivering the nuances when we get to see her in a more calm quiet moment in Ep 13. I just find it a bit jarring to see a mature age woman be so loud, chaotic and bratty. Fortunately we are getting to see other sides of her character.

The drama kind of does explain and in ep 13, ML says how would he forget a person like her and that he’s never met anyone like her…but the explanation doesn’t necessarily, for me anyway, make it any more believable or digestible.

I just don't fancy the female lead for ML,she is too crude and overbearing.
Because of the FL I find it hard to connect with the romance and given this I wish there wasn’t any romance. Her crudeness is explained and it is due to her rough background, but still I find her personality so grating and do not really enjoy her scenes, let alone the scenes with the ML. I’m not even sure why he is attracted to her personality. I get the story is a journey of self discovery for the ML and she is part of that journey, but still…..
Also, I feel like there’s a bit of miscasting for the FL role. I can’t quite figure out what her age is supposed to be. The actress is a mature age woman, but she seems to be playing a character who is supposed to be quite young, perhaps similar age to the main female doctor, not sure. 🤔 Her backstory is sad but I would have thought she might have mellowed and toned down her obnoxiousness by now, even if she is overall a warm and kind person, and is supposed to be representative of women from that region and city.

tbh i found the silent film segments lowkey annoying, but keen to hear other people's thoughts
Found them to be fine…it worked within the film.

Yes, and clothes too!
Definitely. Although the nature scenes and natural environment adds to the charm.

Title The Double
Does anyone else feel that the comedic aspect of the drama is a bit over the top? It just didn't suit the dark…
Yes, very much. I get a revenge drama might have lighter moments and some comedic relief, but the comedy here is at times slapstick and feels off for the overall tone of the drama.

Title Legend of Zang Hai Spoiler
Dead already 💀😅
The way Marquis was momentarily sensing what was going on, the cuts to his men being killed, look on face, like he realised it was over for him, and not just about the son he never cared about...I might be wrong seeing the scene this way. My only disappointment it almost gave him some kind of humility. But then again I found myself strangely warmed up to the Marquis only a few episodes earlier. Drama kinda messes around with our moral compass at times.

Title Legend of Zang Hai Spoiler
to me every time i feel there is a plot hole , it starts making sense in next 2-3 eps...like a puzzle i think…
I know what you mean. For example, the Marquis's letter written in blood from prison. I thought to myself, how the hell did ZH's friends just intercept it and replace the letter...All part of ZH's predictions and plan. Ok it's a bit of plot armour, but kind of makes sense too and not entirely implausible, the way ZH is reading the situation and his enemy's moves.

But Marquis lost everything, even his surviving son betrayed him. His head was put on a spike (sure it was done off screen)..it was brutal.

Title Legend of Zang Hai Spoiler
My princess I trust her. So does Zang Hai ig. Maybe that's why didn't kill her yet. I believe she's not fish3…
If princess is truly the third enemy it wouldn't be revealed this early. Child prodigy or not, she was way too young at the time to have that kind of power. Surely she was being manipulated or used. This is the CP big falling out and part of the romance subplot before they start to understand each other and also a segue into the Dongxia subplot. Agreed ZH carrying away princess 😘 Ep 24 was intense and so satisfying seeing the Marquis's family suffer. No quick deaths, slow torture and painful deaths for them all (except ZZX).

Title Legend of Zang Hai Spoiler
Even though he sort of gives his reason, I’m not sure why the master brought him back to his old home where…
I found the house scene traumatizing for Zang Hai. The scene where he meets the Marquis in the secret room was so creepy and probably more than convinced ZH how sick Marquis is. His micro expressions shows this.
