Unfortunately the villain is the CP so killing him before the trial would have been an offence to the crown- even…
The poison wine thing happens a lot in palace/political c-dramas. Since they did that here let it be Mei Lin to deliver the wine so that she is the last person CP sees. That at least would bring some satisfaction.
Personally, I like everything very much, I watch it with great interest
If I was going to rage quit KMLM because of some of the flaws that have been pointed out and noted I’d quit 90% of c-drama shows I have watched. Most are littered with flaws but it’s just a question of what particular gripes become the deal breaker and that is personal. KMLM seems to have attracted much expectations due trailer, synopsis, novel, whatever, and with that attracts a lot of flak. Sure it has some glaring flaws but there are still many good things about it. Like you I’m sticking with it.
Major rant incoming Did this entire team of writers and editors and director(s) (crawl out from some fan-fiction…
That send off of the Weibei ‘ghost’ army was touching. It reminded me of the LOTR ‘ghost army’ scene, except these are MJH’s own men which makes it heartbreaking. It feels like injustice that CP got to spend the final moments of his life with the woman he loves. He did not deserve this bit of pathos. LM at this point strikes me as someone who has mental illness. She reminds me of those women who become fixated/obsessed with serial murderers on death row and send them love letters, gifts. 😞
He knows he didn't win her over.(He says: she can choose, but he knows what her choice is).
Because YQ is somewhat unassuming - and I can see why they casted an actor like BWJ - and still unhealthily obsessed I cannot tell if he is going to go full on evil mode or have a more conflicted/emotional delivery when he has to go up against MJH (and Meil Lin).
It has reached 400 million views as of yesterday. It always ranks second after Rise of Ning. Some have commented…
It is generally a cold market in China at the moment, but I’d like to think a success of a series goes beyond the numbers. The strength of KMLM is in the two leads. They are stellar and a joy to watch.
I thought it was really out of place given that this isn’t a fantasy drama of any way shape or form. Like this…
Oh I see, I didn’t realise they all watched the horse. I thought the actual horse was for the viewer’s benefit to help us see what the soldiers are visualising as his spirit ie they think he is dead. DOH! in that case it really is random 🤷♀️
