I don't take exception to her rationale for such a behaviour, which seems fair enough. I take exception to the writers using the same trope over and over again -- making the woman the villain -- just to create tension and drama. I think it's sexist, to say the least.

In my experience, few people care more about consent and power dynamics than people in BDSM communities. For they, more than most, know how important consent is, and how liable power play is to being abused.
There is a film called Duke of Burgundy, which features a BDSM dynamic between two women, which explores this brilliantly.
