I enjoyed the original but am finding this version different enough that I don't find myself comparing the two. This version is very stripped back and more poetic and philosophical. One aspect of Asian dramas, that as a Western woman, I really find off putting is the head pats. I wish they would be retired.
You know what. Isn't this drama all that? I mean, I have to give it up once again to those, hair/makeup and costume…
Agree. The styling and set designs are perfection. And I love the two leads. My only annoyance is that I think they have the child actor screaming too much. Whenever he's used for some sort of comedic injection, it's just jarring and I feel like he's on the wrong film set.
Done with EP 3. Let's talk about it.Overall it's a decent watch. I like the outfits and cinematography so far…
From the trailers, I expected this drama to be very dark so the comedy surprised me. I'm ok with most of the comedic scenes but I don't think that the child actor is very good at them. His acting is too exaggerated and ruins the flow of the scene. Otherwise, I've enjoyed the first three episodes. The ML is gorgeous and I like the acting style of the female lead.
I think it was to portray that Han Su had accepted ZhiNan's friendship so deeply after it almost ended and that…
Agreed. I never saw any chemistry between those two. On the other hand, there were many moments between Gao Peng and Zhi Nan were you could see the affection they had for each other.
I think Han Su's storyline kinda went no where in the end. My frustration with a lot of C and K dramas is they always have the characters going abroad as some sort of metaphor for growth. It just seems like lazy, unoriginal storytelling.
As someone who liked Zhi Han's character, I feel I have to defend her. She did not 'cuckold' Han Su. Han Su lied…
What I watched could hardly be described as dripping with sarcasm - maybe catty. Anyway Han Su wanted to dump Yi Peng cause she didn't respect him anymore. And this is not a cuckold situation - only a married man whose wife is having an affair can be a cuckold.
Isn't rather unbelievable, that such a sensible and charismatic lawyer like Han Su would seek relationship advice…
As someone who liked Zhi Han's character, I feel I have to defend her. She did not 'cuckold' Han Su. Han Su lied to and then left her boyfriend to go to Hong Kong. Han Su's nature was established in one of the earlier episodes as being someone who wouldn't let any personal attachment or feelings distract her from her goal.
Personally the biggest disappointment with Han Su's journey was the complete non-resolution with her father. Really? He had been this motivating force in her life and then she chokes because his wife looks nice?
Han su's chemistry with all the men here is mesmerizing.
Interesting. I thought Han su's chemistry was best with Yi Peng because her character was the most emotionally invested in him. There was no romantic chemistry with Gao Peng. She always kept him at a distance but just close enough because she wanted to retain him as a client.
For me, the romantic chemistry was much stronger between Zhi Nan and Gao Peng (and the two other MLs as well). Her character had true feelings for each of them and expressed them. The scene in the club and after the fight was so sweet and genuine. You could clearly see how comfortable and relaxed ZN and GP were together.
Just finished episode 13 which made me really think less of Gao Peng, Han Su and all his HK friends. How they all collaborated against Zhi Nan was really terrible.
Can someone explain to me - in episode 10 - Gao Peng gets some DMs to his Weibo account that show photos of Zhi Nan and the other boyfriend. Who sent them?
I love Tian Xi Wei's character and acting in this drama. The scenes where she was emotional and in despair were so believable. All the actors did great jobs but I think hers was standout.

The writers should have fleshed out the relationships of the two couples more.
