It's definitely worth watching! I really like the concept and the cast is doing great as well. The chemistry between the leads is there but since there's only 6 episodes out so far, the romance hasn't gotten very far yet. But if you watched The Romance of Tiger and Rose, the premise is very similar. However, I personally think that the more recent episodes start to remind me more of Extraordinary You.

But I would say that you should definitely wait since it's still pretty early on. It's good but not worth watching now and agonizing over when the next episode comes out. One episode a week is way too little to watch live-- I would know because it sucks having to wait a whole week for one new episode rn xD.

i thought this was the biggest plot hole ever tbh lol but then someone mentioned something that I didn't catch earlier. Apparently when she cut her forehead to hide her mark in one of the earlier episodes, she had cut off the mark (not sure if it was temporary or permanent).

Yun Shan (his sister) mentioned that he has been weak his whole life and he was only able to regain some strength and power from the saintess's stone so now I'm a little worried that he may be using You Lian to gain access to it or something. Plus, I still find it suspicious that he knew about her identity so quickly.

Ikr! I really like his character but not to the extent of having SML syndrome. Mild spoiler below (from ep 13 and 14) with more thoughts.

we got spoiled with 12 episodes last week and even though it's monday already, wednesday still feels so far away xD

while i agree that xu kai and bai lu have great chemistry, it doesn't mean that they hve to be together in every single drama or movie that they partake in. on the same note, it does not mean that fans should boycott/hate on or refuse to watch any of their individual shows just because they're paired with other actors/actresses. i'm sure that xu kai and bai lu also want to challenge themselves to acting across a different actor as well.

i feel like ep 6 revealed a lot and i really liked the overall message it gave off. if you didn’t see the above post, you can search dramallama’s blog for episode recaps while you’re wait if you want to be spoiled first.

things i’m looking forward to:
- when and how li xuan finds out his true identity and regains his memory
- this sounds sadistic but i’m kinda looking forward to the angsty part of the drama lol
- i’m curious about prince mu’s ulterior motives
- long wei er/second prince: why does no one know that she’s female and what’s her deal?

TLDR: i’m so glad i decided to try this out and i’m loving it so much so far!! i can’t wait for the rest of the show. hope it continues as is :)

things i love having watched all 12 episodes out so far:
- xu kai and wu jia yi’s reunion (both acted in arsenal military academy) and their chemistry
- i like that the drama is different from the novel. haven’t read the novel but from what someone said earlier on this page, the plot and characters have changed a decent amount and i’m actually loving the drama version.
- prince mu’s prettyyyy eyes <3
- male lead falls for female lead first: one of my favorite tropes!!

things i can’t get over:
- xu kai’s hairstyle: i felt like they could have given him something that looked better (esp from the back) but ofc xu kai still rocks it
- idk if it’s just me but you lian’s name reminds me of durian (liu lian in chinese) and i can’t help but laugh every time they call her name lol
- that’s it’s not wednesday yet :’((

things i’m looking forward to:

i feel like the synopsis reflects more of the plot in the novel than the actual drama tbh. but i’m loving li xuan here too!

agree! i was kinda expecting him to ask how they could get out of there as well but he asked a question that didn’t really give him any answers as he still doesn’t know that he’s half kun wu too

i think it’s just the way her character was written but i agree that she’s pretty cringeworthy as her character irl seems weak too

oh i see. can i ask what’s her motive (is she truly evil) and also why doesn’t anyone know that she’s actually a girl lol (besides the fact that this is a historical drama and apparently genders blur together lol)? i jsut realized that i never even knew her name and it’s been 10 episodes lol

can i ask who's long wei er (i'm only up to ep 10)? bc i read somewhere that long wei er is yun shan??

oh she actually cut off her mark? i thought she only cut her forehead to hide the mark. and yep you're right-- the mirror shows the rest.
