In manhua and donghua , writer chose “ 王权霸业( Wangquan Ba Ye) name to describe main lead. Ba Ye means “maintaining the hegemony” or “ feudal overlord” but in drama they chose 弘業(Hong Ye) and 弘(Hong) means great or liberal.
I don’t understand why they changed his name while everyone had the same names in donghua. Are these two words are similar or sth ? Plus , I can’t believe myself that I realized it too late.

I have just finished this one and kudos to Cheng Yi and his acting. The story was too heavy and long for me to follow and sometimes I had to stop and have break.
The things I like : - Martial part - The ost (one of the songs was amazing) - Acting ( Mostly Cheng Yi and other actresses and actors) - Some scenes really broke my heart ( especially about the fam part) - I am glad that this one doesn’t have romance. I couldn’t imagine that Qui Shui’s romancing with someone while too many things were happening around him. ( bad things esp.)
Things I didn’t like -Other stories except our main hero’s came too late. These things were too fast. -Sorry I didn’t feel like the brotherhood part.The team lacked scenes. -There were many many characters that I didn’t follow. - Instead of this Tang girl , I would loved to see Xue Yu more. She deserved better. - My fav character besides Qui Shui was Yuan Kai man. - I expected more palace drama. - Everyting except Cheng Yi acting and ost was like “could have been better” mood. -I didn’t like this Lui Si Feng guy from the beginning to the end. I don’t understand why people like him. -“ Brother the evil one” cliche bored me. I thought it was old fashioned. - The ending was kinda expected since it is a Cheng Yi drama but I just hoped that it went either way. ( poor me )

I am watching the drama again and I feel terrible for Hong Ye. From his young age , he struggled with yi qi alliance , demon -human problems and being a father figure to his sister and other stuff without his father. He almost lost his life. Though , he just wanted to be loved and be happy just one day but his fate didn’t let him a little break even for it and took everything he cared with one shot. Poor man was dealing with the same things even his last times. He couldn’t be dad or he couldn’t have good times with his son. He deserved to have a better life but he sacrificed himself for human and demon race. While criticizing him , please consider these things first.
