(Watched up til ep6) If the plot of this drama is: he's going after her for revenge, but "oh, there's actually someone else behind it." Then I think a 10-episode drama would have been a better choice. They could have taken 6 episodes to built our two leads' relationship (aka the revenge) then spend the last 4-episode chasing after the real bad guys. I think this pacing would have make the drama more exciting.
The cinematography is good from what I see (not a big cinematography person), but that one scene in ep5 or 6 when Seonyul came back home from the hospital, he had a beer in his hand and just dropped it; that whole scene was filmed in 1 long shot. I'm still curious why the director did that. I can't help but want to zoom in for Seonyul's facial expression (to see what he's thinking). I think a few close up shots showing the sequences and his face would allow viewers to see more of the character's complicated feeling. For a good actor, it will showcase their acting ability. The only assumption I can come up with was maybe CEW wasn't able to expressed those growing complicated feelings scene by scene thus the director decided to go with a long shot.
They "make up" after 1 episode but I'm still not happy. He took the truck of doom for her, for her to go back to him. This is one of the worst way to make up for an unnecessary break up. He didn't even do anything wrong. If he's a jerk and the writer want to redeem him, I can accept that. If she can't take his ex-fiancee constantly tormenting their relationship, I can understand her leaving. But she ran off even before anything happen. He is no longer engaged to that lady. She's not willing to fight for her love nor listen to him. He's willing to go the extra miles for her. She wouldn't....
--edit-- I think that turned me off on the romance.
--edit 2-- While still in a relationship, she's seducing her ex to put an end to all the events coming. 🥴 How the h*ck do I process this? The more reason to not enjoy this romance. Yea, this romance is starting to feel akward... They should have taken the romance out if they're going to go this route. Or if they don't have enough plot for 16 episodes, they could have make 11 or 12 episodes.
--edit 3-- Thank goodness we have a smart and useful male MC. I hope I dont jinx that.
My friend, me too! I was worried when Su Min and Min Hwan finally got married and I saw 5 episodes remaining.…
I'm just going to finish it for the sake of finishing it since I've came this far. Took a whole day just to finish ep13 and a bit of ep 12. I saw someone said they wrap up the ending well. I'll take that as a positive note.
Ep1-11 were great. I cannot stop watching. Then ep12 came and ruined the flow. I do not understand the female lead. Didn't she just break out of a relationship she doesn't want? Why is it so wrong for male lead to break out of an engagement he no longer want? I can't comprehend that. Writer ruined it so bad. I can barely get through the episode. It continues to throw in more drama. Sigh. I want to give up.
A comment below said ep 13 is full makjang. *preparing for the worst* Hope this break up doesn't drag for more episode.
A synopsis that doesn't focus on the so-called MC. Now I remember what drama it reminded me of. It's Mouse. The beginning synopsis seems to point to Lee Heejoon as the main lead, which made me questioned why is Lee Seunggi the main lead. It turned out Lee Seunggi is the real lead. I'll see how this one turn out.
I wonder if they will keep the BL or they're going to change it to queer/bromance. I remember Tor did an interview…
The screenwriter said, the two main characters are definitely in love, but the main focus will be on the murder mystery. Novel readers also said it is obvious it's BL but that’s not the main focus of the story. I guess that aligned with what he hinted. It is a bl where love isn't the main focus but is what will complicate the story. The screenwriter and director had worked together on Kahon Maha Ratuek, a murder mystery where the leads are a married couple but there was barely any romance.
Saw the trailer. Min and Jes seemed like the perfect pair and perfect love, but Film is the ml. I hate my perfect love story ruined for stupid reason. The only reason that will make sense is body switching. Ding ding ding, seems like I am right.
I wonder if they will keep the BL or they're going to change it to queer/bromance. I remember Tor did an interview and the news reporter asked if he is hinting his next project to be BL. He replied, two main doesn't necessarily means love. Had no idea he was filming this at the time. They kept this quite secretive. IDK if I should take that as a hint for no BL or he was trying not to spoil it.
they both can be equally main... it happened before
But being first on the list... I expect something from him. "you want to be the top? I'll take you to the top" is that enough for a main character...IDK. Excited but at the same time skeptical. ----Edit--- Maybe they are sick of making the MC the guy who want to reach the top so they make kingmaker the MC. The writer will need good characterization for this to work.
This is one of those drama that make me say, "how are they going to make us, the audience, believe that the other guy (ljw) is the main character?" because everything seems to revolve around kang inha.
This is the first game to not have any nuwa descendant. The person who loves the nuwa mythology did not participate in this one is what I heard. I think 6 or 7, one of them, doesn't have the nuwa descendant too.
Done. It was sweet, fluffy, and cute at the beginning but the complete story is so-so. Ep1-3 and possibly 4 were good. Around 4 or 5, it lost the heat, but still good. (possibly because I watched this while it was airing. 1 episodes per week may have killed the momentum as I did watch ep1-3 in one go.) The leads got together at 8. 9 is dating era. But there's still 5 more episodes to go. This is when the drama start to drag. The tone of the story also took a shift and 2nd ml finally got more screen time. 14 is way too long. They could have done this with 10-12 episodes.
They are adaptation of the same game series. The previous ones took the English title "Chinese Paladin". No adaptation have taken the English title "Sword and Fairy" (the short name for the game, whose full title is "The Legend of Sword and Fairy"). Series 6 adaptation took the name. The production of series 4 being quite hectic, changed its name last minute to the short name. Hence you get "Sword and Fairy" which is actually Sword and Fairy 6 and "Sword and Fairy 4" which is this one.
Idk if you’re mad because the friendship you want isn’t going the way you want or you have a ship that won’t…
Sorry, I started skipping two episodes ago. That episode is one of them. 🙈 Though, I might have seen that scene, just didn't pay attention. The internet can be a toxic place. Sometimes you can't express your thoughts without people jumping on you when they can ignore you.
from a gamer review: "The ones made in the early 2000s with Hu Ge are 1 and 3, there's also a 5- but these are…
Sorry, just stepping in to say, Hu Ge was not the hottest guy at the time. He was actually a newbie who was shot to stardom with CP1. That's how well received the drama was. CP3 follows the same character but different incarnation and received even more love than 1 did.
I know game fans did not like the adaptation of 1 and 3 because the script changed so much, but 1 and 3 are hits despite all that.
4 and 6 adaptations are better received with game fans since it follow the game more closely. As for how well it does in dramaland (outside of fan circle), we'll have to wait and see. Are they flop? Not really. Are they hit? I can't say.
