I know this is partly about me and my comment and I'll just add her giving up everything to stay had nothing to do with him it was her love and duty to her family the exact same thing that's causing this mess, she called him her family, said she loved him etc but all along she had that hidden card in her pocket so all of it is in question. I'm not denying her support at all just yesterday I really believed she truly loved him deeply and sincerely even just as much as he loved her but today's episodes completely changed my mind.
You can't say she does love him just as much when her actions say otherwise, when his actions are sooo much more meaningful, she basically betrayed him and he divided his already weak army to protect her family and clan if you add to that the harm they've already done him it's more than any other person would be able to do. Now please tell me where has she done anything remotely close to this or to holding the rites of the person who caused your family's annihilation in your own house because you love the person who misses that person so much?

Yeah because she's the cause for this mess right now? If it wasn't for her tunnel none of this would've happened so her going to Boya for help when not only were these the consequences of her actions but when he's willing to go to Liacheng despite everything is kind of the bare minimum isn't it? I was convinced she really loved him as much as he loved like you said because of all those things but let's think about how her having a good relationship with him is beneficial to her and her family while he gains nothing and even might lose respect for what he's doing. I would've said that it's more than enough except when it came to the big stuff, he trusted her completely but she didn't trust him of her own accord or love him enough to tell him the truth. Also if she doesn't help him and he loses they're all dead including her family so idk I'm going to need a gesture that's in parallel with his actions although I doubt very much it will happen.

That's all just talk though I'm going to need to see her actually act like it, he's done so much recently that showed he did trust her and cherish her above all else like I keep saying the thing with her grandpa's rites shows she's his priority, she's done and said a lot of things but nothing that really shows that as he did putting her above his family basically. They're not meeting in the middle, him chasing her is a metaphor to what their relationship is actually like when it comes to the important things, she can coax him and say sweet words when he's jealous but he can give up his hatred for her and everything else. Their actions when it matters say it all, not the small things that cost them nothing but the big things that are so hard and show just deep love and care beyond anything especially those relating to their families; she's done a lot of the former (so has he) but he's done a lot of the latter and she hasn't.

Chasing her all over? What does that mean? Judging by the preview he's the one yielding despite her being the one who made a huge mistake. At this point I think I've lost hope they'll show us that she really does love him above everything like they did with him in these episodes.

I totally understand that except we've just seen him do things that almost no one should be able to do in his situation because he loves her, let go of his hatred, gave his brother's spear to hers and even in this episode letting her hold the rites for her grandfather. That's sooooo huge letting her hold the rites for the person who is essentially responsible for the loss of his grandpa, brother and father. So the crux of it is he's willing to do monumental things for her that go against everything he knows and holds dear but she's not willing to that or even close.

Yeah see idk if I trust those words, she says a lot of things but when it comes to the most important stuff she still hid the tunnel from him. He actually let her hold the funeral rites for her grandfather in their house who caused him so much pain which shows how deeply he loves her and for her he's willing to let go of the hatred and put her first above his family but she's just not willing to do the same.

That fight was devastating, he loves her so much he's willing to do anything for her and she never actually trusted him. No wonder he doesn't believe the words she says after because how could he? Even I'm starting to question if she actually loves him or not. And now that tunnel has dealt them such a horrible blow and he's STILL willing to go fight for her clan's territory. I really thought we finally had a couple where both characters loved each other as deeply and sincerely instead of just the ML but apparently not.

That really doesn't apply here, he's literally going to protect the Qiao territory because their enemies got the best of them because of a tunnel QX , the cousin and her husband made that she never told him about. Not to mention he let her grieve her grandfather and hold the ceremony for him inside his own home so he can let go of the hatred of the man who caused his family's death but she can't ask her cousin for troops because her husband's troops are divided protecting her family's territory?

I understand where you're coming from but they both have to carry the burden of their families. It's absolutely not her fault at all but this is the way it was at that time, just him deciding to love her shows how much she means to him. This is the man who was going to wipe out their clan, the man who saw 3 generations of his family members murdered in front of him because of hers, who had to be a killer since he was a child and lead his clan as a consequence. They're both yielding and giving in in different ways, also regardless of their feelings for each other they're still a lord and a lady and they have to act accordingly otherwise they will be eaten alive. He also lets her berate him and throw things at him which insane for that period especially considering who he is and he has shown her so much love in so many ways so I don't think it's fair to say she's the one always putting him first, look at his wish, the way he gave her the wheat and carried her on his back in front of everyone and what it signifies for someone of his status especially considering whose family she belongs to.

It makes perfect sense why he is acting the way he is, instead of instantly falling into her arms at the first sign of feelings. Anything else would be bad writing, she's the daughter of the clan who caused his brother's, father's and grandfather's death all while he watched and he's carried that hatred and burden since he was a child. It essentially feels like he's turning his back on the people he loves the most, if he's not conflicted and wrestling deeply with his feelings then what does that make of his love for his family? Not to mention it's not like he's treating her badly in the meantime, he's showing her so much care and love in his own way, saving her, giving her warhorses, worrying about her etc

I'm referring to your statement that he fell harder, I think they both fell slowly and just as hard.

I disagree, so far it feels like they're as in love with each other in the way they treat and care for each other.

Your review convinced me to watch this and I really enjoyed it so thank you. Like you said the mutual effort really stands out, do you have any other recs from 2025 that have the same kind of relationship? Especially modern ones?

I know she'll never abandon her family but neither should he have to. Since this is supposed to be a love story I hope unlike the novel she'll come to love him just as much as he'll love her enough to risk her life for him etc and even put him first in some ways like it's obvious he'll do for her. I've seen the actress talk about her XQ's best quality is her sincerity and that once she decides to be by his side she's genuine so I guess we'll see.

Yup I would rather it was the same for both but it is what it is.

He is, for all the other ships I feel like both parties are just as in love with eo but with these 2 it seems he's way more into her than she is him.

The fact that he agreed to be her guardian spirit and is actively fighting him means it's at least a possibility for him otherwise what's his plan? Since he was told he'd need to deplete it to defeat him, just hope it works without it and then that thing kills all of them?

No because I'm also confused regarding this? He was told it would kill him and then the next scene he was like yes to YR? Does he have some plan they're not showing us or what???
