I get what you're saying it's about emotions and logic, I was with her until like ep 18 but atp she really doesn't need to be this cruel especially because both of their behavior doesn't make sense.
She wants to survive but survive from what? She doesn't actually die, she sees her sister is different but doesn't accept he could be too and he's so love starved and been treated so horribly his whole life yet he's holding on to her and letting her do whatever she wants to him and begging for more which doesn't really click with who he is and their relationship why is he so hung up on her?
And my BIGGEST point is is she going to reciprocate now? Is she going to be as devoted and sacrificial towards him as he has her or is it going to be "my bad oops" and him yet again being in a relationship where he's giving his all and getting nothing in return.

I mean by his actions not the fact that she knows about it. I'm saying are we going to see her do the same in the future when she finds out everything and really falls in love? As in the idea that him suffering for her and protecting her while she tries to kill him is him making up for what he did, is it going to be the same thing for her in the next episodes.

The thing is he's made up for all of that a 100 times over and more so AND it happened before they knew each other and were in love, she's treating him like human scum and he's still going above and beyond to help her and save her even when it costs him so much. He literally knows she's trying to kill him and is getting flogged for her and giving us his military powers.

What is she doing? She can understand that her sister is different but doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt, she's afraid he might kill her and??? It doesn't even make sense because if she dies she re-spawns so why is she acting like it's a real death and given the way cdramas operate in general and the way the writing is going, everyone is saying him doing all of this is him making up for trying to kill her, are we also going to see her do the same? Get tortured and almost die and give up so much for him and save him at the cost of herself 10 times ? It seems there is a set of rules for him and another one for her.

It also does not make sense why he cares about her so much to the point where he's letting her walk all over him, she hasn't done anything to warrant that kind of devotion, his friend is a million times more devoted to him than she is.

I like a good slow burn but by that do you mean both of them or just the ML thinking she's dead and realizing he loves her or is it the FL as well? And the spoilers you mentioned stumbling upon, are they from the novel or the drama?

Oh I'm curious could you share the spoilers, the trailers don't really have much romance, except for the scene where she runs and hugs him.

That sounds promising, I remember reading a comment here from someone who read the novel that he falls but she's only manipulating him, doesn't have time or care for love and is keeping some big secret that changes everything.

Please give me schemer x schemer, fox x wolf, badass x badass who start trying to one up each other and slowly but surely fall madly in love instead of ML who becomes a fool a few episodes in because he's in love and a FL who doesn't really reciprocate his feelings until the end and never with the same intensity (this kind of set up is getting really boring).

Thank you vm although I realize now why I didn't remember it, because it's not the ML saying it , it's his subordinate saying it to him, if you pay attention to the scene/voice and what says is "I was written to protect you" which doesn't make sense if it was ML to FL bc she's that's not the ML's dynamic with her original character.

Yeah they're obsessed with this kind of dynamic and idk why either but people seem to love it mostly? Most comments seem to only want loser in love simp MLs instead of balanced healthy couples. Just this year we had first frost, best thing, perfect match, si jin, filter, everlasting longing, eat run love and so many others that were like this.
I would wait until the drama is over but that might be a while so if you can separate the 2 there's nothing wrong with finishing it. I try not to read any because they're always so different even if the novel is good the drama is nothing like it.

Oh I really doubt they will change it for the drama, in fact I think they might make it worse. Even novels which had equal relationships get turned into this kind of couple where the ml is doing all the work and the fl doesn't care let alone one that already has that in the novel. and they love their smls who are always there for the fls while sfls are almost never present even if they are ml barely gives them 5 seconds of attention. It's exhausting but besides a few rare modern dramas like you are my glory and hidden love 90% of them are like this.

Nooo I was so excited after seeing the reuters and reading the synopsis, I thought finally a FL who is smitten but you're telling me it's yet again another one where the ML is a simp and it's not an equal relationship...

The level of annoyance I feel whenever Jun Mo is on the screen is unparalleled, every single time he opens his mouth I want to reach through and slap him into oblivion.

Yup that's the way it almost always is, ML is the one who suffers and sacrifices, there are some exceptions like LBFAD, Love of divine tree, blossoming love where the sacrifice feels more or less equal or at least the FL is sacrificing something, something where the FL sacrifices more is non existent to my knowledge it's either ML doing 90% or at best 55-45 lol.

Umm if she's already tortured and murdered him when from his pov he hasn't done anything the awful stuff he's doing isn't great but makes sense I'm not saying her behavior doesn't make sense (if we find out there's a very good reason) but like I said there's a 90% chance it's a misunderstanding and him still accepting everything even knowing who she is and letting her go on with her plans to kill him is already a looot. There's a huge difference in btw what she's doing and what he's doing... And I don't really like the term "red flag" because the way it's being used has completely striped it of all meaning.

If it was both treating each other badly for whatever reason that would make sense but him helping her ruin his life for reasons he doesn't know after she repeatedly killed and abused him is not my definition of "they're both not entirely in the wrong or in the right" but to each their own.

But that wasn't even my point, I'm saying all the swooning over the ML being okay with her doing so much horrible sh*t to him for no reason as far as he knows would not be happening if the roles were reversed I've seen dramas where the ML does 1% of what the FL is doing here even before they fall in love and for good reason and everyone wants him dead and her away from him.

Plus based on spoilers and what we've seen in countless dramas before, we'll see he's always loved her and was trying to protect her and did so much for her even when she finds out it was all a misunderstanding they'll just gloss over all the stuff she did whereas again if it was the other way around as he'd be begging and grovelling and almost dying for her for 10 episodes so that she'd forgive him. Okay that was a lot of words my ultimate point here is the double standards in which both dramas and us watching them quantify things when it comes to romance depending on whether it's a FL or ML doing them.

I'm enjoying the drama but also finding the difference in what's considered romantic depending if it's the FL or ML doing it very interesting. If it was a FL was getting treated like ML is here everyone would be hating him and wishing she would get some self respect or get together with SML but since it's the ML getting tortured and killed it's seen as swoon-worthy that he accepts everything (when from his pov he doesn't even know the reason and is behaving like he hasn't actually wronged her so it's most likely a misunderstanding) because he's in love.

Is it devotion or just insanity? If a FL was taking all sorts of torture from the ML in multiple lives and accepting everything for reasons she doesn't even know the reaction would be to hate the ML and tell the FL to get some self respect.
