The statement that the ML is only smart and thriving because he comes from our world is completely false; sure that's a big part of it but the bigger part is that he's actually very intelligent, what does him coming from another world have to do with his investigative abilities? Or his prowess in assessing every situation and its players? Or his knowledge of chemistry? Because we all know how to make fake sliver right? Not to mention his righteousness and moral character might partly stem from being born in a world where we're all "equal" but how true is that actually and how many people would stick to that belief when thrust into a society such as this to defend even strangers at the cost of their own life ?
Hee Joo is truly one of the best female leads of all time, she's ready to sacrifice her life for Sa Eon at anytime, not just to save his life but just to ease his pain, she would rather starve herself than live and have him be tormented. Do you know how rare that is? To get a FL who loves the ML as fiercely and devotedly as he does?
The implication that people dislike the FL just because she's a woman is not only insulting but also moronic. Especially in the same drama where everyone is praising 3 other female characters left and right. People are allowed to like or dislike any fictional character they want as long as they're respectful towards real people, both the actors/crew and those they engage with online.
Yes there is always misogyny in fandom but when dozens of people are saying huh I feel like this character is childish and kind of dull-witted, things she is both described as and shown as in the actual canon, responding with the inference that "gee these dumb girls don't possess enough intelligence to form their own opinion on a fake character" is not the flex you think it is.
P.S. I'm not referring to the people who said they like the FL's character in general I respect their opinion as I do everyone else's.
It sucks that the FL is relegated to being childish and spoiled (according to even her own brother) , she's trying to win a poetry competition when she can't even understand it and completely lacks the awareness to realize all of this or that she's hurting the crown prince with her antics even when he tells her to her face. The other important female characters are smart, competent women in their respective fields but the lead so far is shown to lack any sort of intelligence or character. She doesn't have to be a genius but a modicum of brain use or even cognizance of her abilities or lack thereof would be great. The 1st episode was SO good. The comedy, the action, the bonds between the characters, the emotional beats, the constant fight for justice. I am so excited for the rest of the season.
I usually don't care about ratings because they're subjective but I've said this already and i'll say it again, 8.7 for this drama on MDL is absolutely insane. It is nothing sort of a masterpiece and one of the best dramas to ever grace our screens. It deserves a 9, at least.

I want to believe there's a reason that ML went with XY that they'll show us later and that she couldn't abandon MRJH but I don't think there is. You're right we still don't know the full picture but what we got these last episodes is just confusing because there are valid reasons why she should be angry with him etc but they're not conveying that in the story or having her explain at all why she's like "move on" while she VISIBLY looks like she's still in love with him. So all it looks like is him still longing for her and doing everything to protect her etc but nothing from her either way. I was hoping after this mess we'll see her yet again show her love and save him/protect him etc and reciprocate what he's been giving for what will be 6 eps tomorrow but I'm not too sure that's happening.

She has every right to be upset especially since she didn't get to partake in the revenge but they're not letting her say or think anything so it just looks like she couldn't care less about him. I'm now thinking her taking YQ hostage has nothing to do with MRJH and all the scenes we have left with them is the same we've had for the last 4 eps, just about his love for her and not hers for him. Which is unfortunate, in the 1st half they really felt like an equal love.
