I can't do this one episode a week thing with this drama, I just can't. As soon as the episode starts time flies and then we have to wait another week *cries*.
I gotta say, I love that she's not the reincarnation of the woman he used to love, they weren't showing us her face so I was worried and that trope certainly has its merits in certain scenarios but it's been quite overdone and it casts this shadow on the current relationship because they're completely different people who possess the same face so you're asking yourself who's the person they're in love with really is. Also since his first love is reincarnated as we saw in the preview, this is even better because he will absolutely choose Lee dam over her.
This show is firing on all cylinders right now, the romance is gorgeous, both in its chemistry and the way the leads are so open and genuine with each other, the female lead is this wonderful mix of kind and strong and just weird enough to be interesting, the comedic bits are funny without being overbearing, the friendships are beautiful, we even have the seeds of a future plot and conflicts being planted with him keeping things from her and this new threat they're hinting at, everything about this drama just screams heart and it's all absolutely lovely.
I am not the target audience for this "rich people being awful " trend that's been happening lately, although I pretty much watch every genre as long as it's good but if it means we get more dramas with a dominantly female cast like sky castle, penthouse, mine and this one then by all means, make a hundred of these.
I am really enjoying this drama, I wasn't expecting to at all, but it's actually quite good. The actors are great, the music and performances are legit and I love the friendships and camaraderie between the group members and the way they're showing us some of the darkest sides of the industry while still giving us a lot of funny and cute moments, Jun young and Ji so are killing it and I can't wait to see how their relationship develops.
Can I just say how I much I already love Lee Dam as a character, she's so funny and sweet but also extremely weird and kind and strong, the way she schooled her classmates, the way she was just so honest and vulnerable with Shin woo yeo about wanting to go back to how they were, and Hye ri is killing it, she isn't afraid to look silly in the comedic scenes and is so sincere and raw in her emotional scenes, it's wonderful to see.
Will there ever come a time when I rewatch this show and my heart doesn't break everytime I see Looney, they did him so dirty with that ending, I don't think I'll ever stop being mad and disappointed by how cliche and fatalistic it all was especially in a show that's supposed to be about hope and second chances and especially because doing that to your only queer character in an industry that's barely had 10 lgbtqa characters to speak of is absolutely vile.
It's been such a long time since I've seen this level of enemies to lovers excellence and the fact that it's both of them antagonizing each other and not just a guy treating a woman like sh*t is *chef's kiss*.
Ok listen I love the fact that the love triangle is being done for the second leads but we have lee soo hyuk and kang tae oh so may I suggest an OT3...
I just want to say how much I love the fact that it's not just them spending time together and her accidently falling in love with him but it's rather her ACTIVELY trying to fall in love with him so he becomes the person she loves the most and when she doesn't make a wish to destroy the world , she doesn't loose anything (ie her brother and she doesn't end the world) but also the fact that from the preview it seems that her doing that spurs him into action and he's either going to be doing everything he can to make her fall in love with him so that she wants to destroy the world for him or hate him and they'll still fall madly in love. I live for this kind of messy sh*t.
The cast for this is stellar, Yoon se ah, kim hye woon, jung hae in, Yoo in a, jung yoo jin and jang seung go are all wonderful actors and the fact that it's by the writer of bridal mask/sky castle gives me hope that they'll all get to shine.
I really want to know why there are so much main female ?!
The better question is why you never see anyone ask this question under a show when most of the cast is men, something that's very very common, while having a majority female cast is quite rare...
Ryoc : Wait, go with C and D, A and B already had their happy ending.
Lmao, comedy kings.
