What I don't understand is why they didn't film this as a whole 50 episode drama like the writer's previous projects ( Six flying dragons and Queen seon deok). This aired on tvn originally not netflix so there was no reason for the whole 3 different parts for one season and THEN multiple seasons. With them casting well known actors something like this was bound to happen if they split it.

was she "kicked out" or did they just decided not to extend her contract for the second season bc of different…
She was kicked out while the first season was still happening and they changed the writer while it was airing.

I'm here for both the thriller AND the romance if there is one, I enjoy both like enjoy almost every genre as long as it's well written. Romance is not inherently less compelling or interesting than other genres and we need to stop acting like it's somehow inferior ( which unsurprisingly is the only genre that gets this much flack and low and behold it's also the only genre mostly geared towards women). Also it's present in a lot of shows, western or eastern in some capacity because you cannot write a show about humans, without delving albeit even somewhat into what arguably makes us who we are, our connections and relationships with other people be they romantic or otherwise.

It's insane to me that they kicked the writer off of her own drama? The show that she created ( even if it's adapted from a webtoon)? I've read it's because the show got very popular and they wanted a season 2 but she wanted to finish her show her own way and it's honestly sad how greed ruins creativity (they did the exact same thing with the uncanny counter and honestly all I have to say is what the f*ck).

I adore this writer, angry mom and inspector Jo are wonderful dramas, hopefully this one continues the streak of greatness.

Seo Hyun Jin has always been a stellar actress but I love how this drama is giving her the opportunity to flex almost every single one of her acting muscles, because the range she's displaying here? Phenomenal.

People who say romance isn't needed in a drama like this and that it makes the heroine who's always so strong look weak make me laugh tbh. The way misogyny has completely become ingrained in some people's brains, this dichotomy that a "strong" woman whatever the hell that is (because when it's male characters you never see that word being used) is just a female character who's supposed to be this non human cardboard of perfection based on their warped idea of what strength is supposed to look like in a woman. You do realize that women can be strong and badass and also fall in love and be vulnerable and be kind and everything in between. A female character falling in love does not make her less than or diminish her strength . We need complex interesting female characters who are allowed to be everything their male counterparts have been for decades. This is a rare drama where the role that is almost always given to men (the genius contending against corruption) is instead played by a woman let's not fall into the trap of trying to define her and by extension ourselves as either-or.

I am so glad to see how much love this show is getting in Korea and wordwide, it's getting great ratings and it's currently trending number 1 wordwide on twitter. It's honestly so satisfying to see a wonderful rom com get the praise and numbers it deserves, there's this constant derision for romance in all mediums which is baffling on its own but particularly for korean dramas as if the entire industry wasn't built on the back of romantic dramas.

You guys know previews are almost always misleading, let's wait until tomorrow and then we'll freak out if it is what it looks like. Also while I understand the frustration with how so far Tae moo seems to like Hari a lot more than she does him, it's only natural given the situation, he's her boss and she's been in a fight or flight state since she met him afraid to loose her job etc, her brain is going to need a little while to catch up with her heart and I'm sure we'll get her supporting him and loving him just as much as he does, especially since he hasn't dealt with his trauma regarding his parents death, I'm a worrier too but this drama has been stellar so far and I'm choosing to trust that'll it continue to be so.

One of the things that make this drama stand out is how self aware the writers are, whenever someone does something the audience would roll their eyes at, a character immediately calls them out within the show, like when TM was going overboard trying to get payback and SH says to him that she didn't actually do anything that bad and it's completely understandable from her pov why she would decide to lie or when YS is complaining to HR about the cost of living and HR is like "do you think I have the patience to listen to a rich girl complain about money to me rn" and YS immediately shuts up, or even how we have these two very very rich characters who are pursuing people who are much lower on the social hierarchy ladder and it's not even a point of discussion, it's not even a factor in their decisions, TM decides he likes HR and is all in thinking of dating her with marriage in mind, same for YS pursuing SH; whereas in every single other drama where there are class differences it's all "oh how could I fall for someone so poor *rich tears*", it's these little things that are so refreshing and add up to what is so far shaping up to be one of the best romcoms of the last few years.

This drama is great so far, tropes and cliches aren't inherently a bad thing. Every single work of fiction contains a certain amount . It all depends on the writing and the delivery and this show is doing very well, we've got a fun female lead who's also talented, we've got two very interesting friendships, great second leads, a good balance between the emotional and the comical. All things that might seem easy to write , but one of the hardest things to do is write a show carried only by its characters and their relationships, it's no less taxing than say a thriller it's just different and the inherent belief that romance is inferior and "easier" (mostly because it's geared towards women and the rampant notion that surely anything that's mostly enjoyed by women is less than) is absolute nonsense.

What a fun first episode, Se jeong is already owning the role and going all out with her shenanigans, Rachel and Samantha and pretend exorcisms lmfao. She's also absolutely gorgeous, I can't wait to see more.

The fact that the second the boyfriend leaves, it's all "my heart dropped when I saw you from behind, in case I loose you" and " it was so noisy but all I could hear was your voice" they say the most romantic beautiful things so easily, so simply, their relationship although very brief so far has so much depth and meaning to both of them.
