In Thai culture if you throw a punch like Palm did you're going to get this kind of reaction. It's actually something they warn you about if you travel there. Everyone will join in the fight and the people who started it are going to get a huge beat down. I didn't think it was unrealistic at all. But even if it wasn't, it served a narrative purpose like you said. I'm going to post a video of this as soon as I find one.

Ok, I completely agree with that. Overall, not significant to the drama. I'm saying the same thing about the drunken fight scene at the end of this episode.

I love this series. I'm defending everything about it, except that kiss. It doesn't affect my overall opinion of this show at all. Just a weird kiss, though. The director is a pro and has done a thousand kiss scenes so I'm just curious why it happened like that.

Check him out in Warp Effect. It's like night and day even if it's with a woman. He's doing a full on sex scene. And it's the same director. I just can't understand what happened here.

I've been trying to see what people are talking about concerning Phuwin's acting, but I can't see it. I would be lying if I said I thought it was really bad, and I actually think it's pretty decent. I don't think he's as good as Perth or Chimon - their acting seems effortless whereas Phuwin's does seem like he's working at it, but he'll get there. Perth was a little stiff in his first roles as well. His Ae in Love by Chance was definitely good, but it was a little forced. I think Chimon and Perth are at the level that you don't even notice their acting which is the goal of a really good actor, but Phuwin can get there with a few more roles. He's not bad in this at all. This is a very challenging role, and he's playing a character that has a lot of complex emotions. Take, for example, whenever he is with Palm, the constant shift he experiences between a compassionate lover, and dominant upper class snob, vacillating between looking at him with pure longing, and treating him like chattel. I think he captures that really well. How he treats Chimon's character is different because he just has a more casual interest in him, and I think Phuwin captures the gradation of interest between his love for Palm, and his simple, exploratory interest in Ben with really nuanced acting.

I have no problem with the drunken scene at the end. I felt that it was a manifestation of Neungdiao's guilt for kissing Ben, compounded with jealousy over Palm's flirtation with his friend. What Neungdiao's done is very insensitive to Palm, and he should be ashamed of himself, because he knows he really loves Palm. Earlier in the day he just brushes it off when Palm confronts him about the kiss. This is a little bit of a shadow play scene, because Palm is really telling him he has seen Neungdiao with another man and that he's jealous, while Neungdiao pretends he has no interest in Palm and pretends he's not taken aback that he's been caught by him. Unconsciously, during the fight, he reveals how much he really is interested in Palm, and Nuengdiao is also a little bit of the entitled brat, and that comes out as well. It was a complex scene where a lot of subconscious motivations took over. I think he plays that crazy drunk really well. I don't know why everyone is disappointed in this scene because everyone's motivations are clearly made out, and acted out in a sensible and realistic way. Actually, this is a very interesting and well executed scene, in my opinion.

That was shot so strangely. That kiss must have a backstory as to how it became so weird. P'Jojo is an experienced director whose doing a lot of really explicit scenes in other shows like Warp Effect, and those are shot really well - but this is the clunkiest and ugliest kiss I've ever seen in a BL.

Once Again is a tragedy and the main character travels back in time to rescue his lover who is murdered by a serial killer. Unfortunately, he's not able to do this and goes back to the present having spent a few days with him, going out on a few dates, and returning to the present where he tries to move on with his life - he was kind of stuck in a rut, constantly thinking of the person he lost. The weird part is that there is another version of him that keeps going back to the past and relives the tragedy over and over again, like a kind of living hell. I think that part is just kind of sick and unnecessary. So to be clear, there are two versions of the main character, one stuck in an endless loop, and one that is moving on with his life after losing his lover. I think this is one to avoid, unless you are a fan of tragedy verging on horror.

Oh right, I've seen those. I wasn't even aware P'Jojo was the director of those series [never looked it up]. OK Bangkok has always been one of my favorites, and is definitely a pioneering series that was well ahead of its time. I love Friend Zone as well. I guess I forgot all about those series in making my point. Well, this is still one of a few handful of series that is this explicit, and I'm enjoying how it's pushing boundaries just like those other shows.

He was playing a comedic role in I'm Tee, Me Too. I can see his comedic side in a lot of his fanservice videos with Tay, especially that food show that they do. I've always thought he was versatile but they usually have him play this stiff character like in Comments which was unnaturally stiff, almost zombie-like. I don't think it's dabbling. He's naturally more like this character in this series, in my opinion. But I agree that he was getting typecast, for the most part.

I'm having the same problem across all GMMTV shows. You can watch them on dramacool with subtitles. You can watch this show, and Never Let Me Go on there. I'm suspecting My School President will also have this problem when it airs on Friday.

I love your comment! There is definitely a lot of realism here, and it is not the fantasy world of KinnPorsche. There is something new and exciting in this BL, and people have to give it a chance. I am tired of people criticizing Phuwin's acting. Check him out in the Warp Effect if you want to see him act more relaxed. He's supposed to be stiff and awkward here. It's his character! And the rest of this is really engrossing. There is like an enormous amount of mystery and suspense. I have a thousand questions as to what's going on, and I don't know why everyone isn't feeling the suspense. You have to be kidding me. This is exciting. Also check out Warp Effect if you want to see P'Jojo doing something like totally oppposite to the context of this show. This is a talented director.

Hey, sorry for interrupting this semi-private convo, but Once Again is just not that good. It's really a sloppy time travel show. I kind of misunderstood how the time travel works in it at the beginning, but it's weird and really makes no sense. I like to write sci-fi and study this and it's not using any science, but apart from that, even if it makes use of its own science (magical science), it's not thought through very well, and if you want a spoiler, I'll tell you how it ends. But some people liked it, and some people whose opinions I respect so it's kind of weird they got fooled by it, because I understand time travel pretty well and it's just kind of stupid even if it is not related to any real science. Just the idea behind it is pretty bad even if you are not going into the scientific aspect of it.

Huh, how did I become a VIP? There go my rights to being an underground nobody on this board. I didn't really contribute 10 million dollars to Mydramalist. I just couldn't get it to come up on my phone anymore so I contributed to them - some pitiful amount to just get them off my back with their obnoxious commercials. Damn, I thought someone was going to die in this show. I was hoping it was going to be Nan. I could already see the tombstone for him laid out with his wig on top. Or I guess an urn with his wig perched above it. There could have been some beautiful funeral orations : "Nan had great taste in wigs. That's what I most remember about him. How that velvety rug just wrapped itself around his head, and its lapping tendrils just caressed his face will be my most vivid memory of him. That wig was magnetic, it had an aura of something angelic, and brought us all together. Thank you Nan for your beautiful wig. We will always remember it."
