Yes, and they missed the chance to make this meaningful by making her character inconsistent, to the point where I don't care at all. If she was like Ming, I would be very invested. I don't know how to explain it; she feels just like a character in a drama, not a person. Ming felt like a person. With Miao, I know she is a character

I just hate it when it’s done poorly and it happens 99% of the time. They kill off good characters purely for shock value, with no meaningful development or payoff. It feels cheap and undermines the story rather than enhancing it, it feels like a cdrama trope #killthefriends

They put that scene in because the male lead was beautiful as a tragic hero, wonderful for a desktop wallpaper. That was the depth of that writing. I mean, yeah, he was 🔥 with her jade in his mouth, but it wasn't worth the lives of his friends 🙄 it was really unnecessary 😭😭😭😭😭😭😱😱😱😱

Yeah, there aren't many episodes left, and for now, they're not crucial to the plot. They already killed off the ML's right-hand man, but with cdrama writers, one is never enough. I can accept characters dying if it makes sense to the plot, but when they do it just for the sake of it or some visuals... cough... The Double... cough... then I just can't stand it 😒

I can't endure her anymore. She went from the best friend who would move mountains for her friend to someone who would doubt their friendship for a man.

I’m sure she’ll survive and have some last-minute epiphany. in the meantime her abusive husband is following the textbook manual of abuse: first, present yourself as vulnerable to gain trust. Then, cut your victim off from their friends and family, isolating them. When they start to pull away, love-bomb them to draw them back in, all while making them increasingly dependent on you

Don't get me started on Miao Ansu. She gets on my nerves, and I have no compassion for her, but only because she is badly written. I think whatever her character was in the books is the character we are seeing now, and the person she was before becoming obsessed with SH was one they created just for the drama. And they didn't know how to integrate these two personas well now that she is needed as a plot device 😐

Instead of giving us more proper development between Chen Jia and Zhangru, we get Miao and SH instead. What did we do wrong? Why are we being punished like this?

She is never leading them on, and her affections are always friendly. One of them is her best friend; they call themselves soulmates, too. But never for a second did she give him reason to think she liked him romantically. He knows that very well but still secretly likes her. The other one thought for a second he had a chance, but later he realized he was over his head (he eventually is out of the picture in friendly terms)

They had the potential to create a fascinating and complex second male lead with the monk character someone who could have been a great gray character or even an intriguing villain. But instead, we were given a basic, uninspired 2ML. What a disappointment 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 ps. Feel bad for FL, two of her best friends are useless traitors

There are a couple of guys who like the FL at some point of the story, but she does not have romantic feelings for them, so they do not count.

I have to admit, I really felt sorry for Ming. She was incredibly naive, starved of love, and unaware of how to love herself properly. The guy was terrible, but in his own selfish way, he did love her. She just didn’t know any better, didn't know how to quit him, and that made her story truly heartbreaking for me.

However, I feel none of that compassion for Miao, absolutely none. Like SH, she feels more like a poorly written plot device than a real character. There's no depth or consistency to her, which makes it hard to connect or care about her at all, at least for me. I just feel like the writing in the last two episodes is weird...

The last two episodes weren't the best. The express package is being released tomorrow. I would binge-watch everything at once if multiple episodes were poorly written so it doesn't ruin too much the experience 🤣

The leads fall for each other; anyone else's feelings for them are irrelevant, as they don't care. So in my opinion there is no triangles, yes a couple of guys like her but she doesn't like them back
