I don't remember what her position was with the late emperor, whether she was a noble consort, concubine, etc. But she wasn't an empress. This emperor needed her support, and I guess giving her the position she has now was the best way he had to make sure he would have enough support as a new emperor.

He didn’t seem like some fool when she was whispering things in his ear; he looked like someone who knows very well what is going on. Also, he and Duke Su are very close; I doubt they would be if the Emperor was an idiot, but we will see. 🤣 They could surprise me.

It comes to show you the power of choice. They both made a choice, and they did so in different ways, in terms of how to treat people around them after they were victims of violence.

Yes, she was very powerful, with her family's and ministers' support. So, he took her as his wife, too, to have that support, as he himself did not have enough power when he became the emperor.

If he wanted to help her, he could have simply said he was the father and destroyed both himself and the princess. Can't help more than that. 🤣😅

Probably for some added drama, but it wasn't really needed. Like, why would the Zhao emperor even request it? I would understand if he asked the emperor to take the sister as his new empress or something... but requesting Duke Su to get married just because the sister likes him and she said she gave up on him doesn't make sense. I'm sure it will be resolved quickly in the next episode.

Yes, I am very invested in their friendship. I wish there was more of them and less of the princess and the wife killer. But being an XFF revenge story, it is normal that we have more of them. Still...

She decided to perpetuate the cycle of violence and thus became a perpetrator of atrocities, just like the person who had hurt her. XFF could have done the same thing, but she chose to help innocent people, not hurt them

I know that the wife killer and the crazy princess are the top villains for XFF while King Cheng is for Duke Su, but I have really had enough of them. I felt bad for the princess's past, and that's where my sympathy ends. She really needs to pay for everything she did, along with him. I'm so over them; I've needed a change of arc for so long, but we will have to endure them until episode 40 as it is XFF's story, so it can't finish before then 🥲 Just hope we will have enough time for the leads and their loved ones to have a proper ending

How long is it? Only one episode or something like that? I hate this kind of trope; it's very cheap. If I have to watch something useless for too long that will only be a dream, I prefer to drop this drama. Can somebody let me know how long this thing will be?

No, as it is prohibited to make those shows in China. But the main character in the novel did transmigrate into another person's body. In the drama version, she just took the identity of another girl.

XFF is officially dead. There is only JL identity now. He would not go and declare that he tried to kill his wife, but she is still alive as somebody else.
