Yes, she was in a position to do more to help. But I suppose since she is old and was sending money to JL (which she never received), she is given the opportunity to repent. However, not having sent a maid or someone to ever check on JL is abhorrent, regardless of any excuse she has for herself 😒

She is definitely not an idiot, but I guess she will play the game to make him believe he is succeeding before hitting him hard and destroying him. Maybe he is not 100% sure of her identity, but still, she is no longer the naive XFF; she is XFF 2.0 with a vengeance 😅 ps. She does enjoy taunting him. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, he tried to act like an innocent bystander, but he was actually complicit by deliberately ignoring all the warning signs and severely neglecting his daughter. Regardless of whether she was guilty of what she was accused of, she was still his child and his responsibility

There are so many other storylines to finish. It would be foolish to take this one up again. It was long enough, but as you say, they do overdo it toward the end, so let's hope not for this drama 😅

Obviously, they paid very stupid people to kill her. They beat her to what they thought was death and didn't even bury the body. That is what happens when you sublet the job to someone else. 🤣😅 PS. At least those two looked like some poor criminals, not trained assassins, like some guys they saw on the street and paid pennies for the job 😅

If they don't show him dead on the floor with the life leaving his eyes, then he is alive. Half-shown murder scenes are always something else in dramas 😉

You can't say that is better than her living every day in solitude, poverty, and fear, haunted by all the ghosts of people she's killed, knowing she will die alone in misery. To kill her is a second, but to torment her like this is much more cruel given her character

To enjoy them, he would have had to be a sociopath of some kind, but he is not. He is just a c*nt 🤣 He did it with a clear mind and remember, he chose to kill his wife in a very brutal way. The princess wanted her dead? Well, even in the monstrosity of what he was doing, he chose to kill her in a very horrific way, buried alive after telling her that her loved ones were all dead. He could have literally killed her in her sleep without her even knowing that she was dying.

Yes, his guilt is based on the fact that he is afraid of being exposed. If JL had never appeared, I doubt he would ever feel this way. Maybe he would just ponder how he no longer has his subservient wife who treated him like a god in human form, and instead he has the princess. With his personality, he will get rid of the princess at some point too. He still needs her, and she is still too powerful.

It is a combination of reasons why some people have some sort of feeling of sympathy. Remember, he is showing us all of his suffering, and strong emotions trigger similar feelings in people who are watching. His showing remorse or guilt to the extent of losing his mind humanises him and makes him more deserving of some sort of empathy. But I am sure that feeling would be erased if they watch the murder scene again, as then XFF emotions would trigger a stronger emotional response. P.S. Also, people tend to give a bit more empathy to good-looking people on a subconscious level 😅

I think it is mostly a halo effect. If he was ugly, he would have fewer people empathizing with him. They are also making sure to show us all of the guilt, etc., to try to do some emotional contagion in the audience. 😅 It doesn't work on everybody.

I think he came to the capital with no support and somehow met the princess. With her backing, he had a footing in the capital and in the court. Anyway, all of the ministers or scholars are there because of their family backgrounds or because when they were nobodies, they had somebody to back them up

He is a monster, and his suffering is a tonic for me. 🤣🤣🤣

But he definitely wanted to do that to his wife, as nobody could convince you about hurting a person you supposedly love and especially not in that brutal and sadistic way. He just used the princess as an excuse for his own ambitions and goals, and being sleazy and cowardly, he is now crumbling. It can go both ways: either he will go full evil heartless psycho or he will go mad from fear and guilt (but only because he is hunted by her ghost as JL, not because anything else).

She is punished with her greatest fears: a life steeped in poverty, misery, and solitude. Haunted by the ghosts of her past decisions, with no family and completely isolated, her existence will fade into obscurity. In the end, she will die alone, her passing unnoticed and unremembered by the world. All these things are everything she was so desperately trying to avoid by crushing others, and that is what she got in the end. PS. Definitely, her arc was too lengthy and generally not written well, especially the way she was taken down with no tangible proof, just accusations from a ghost and a woman who was deemed crazy. I'm just happy it is over and done. I liked how JL punished the father by making him believe for a second she would forgive him. That was a chef's kiss.
