When it happened, I didn't even realize it was her, as I wasn't expecting it at all 😅 until they read us the letter.

I hate OE, maybe even more than the sad ones. 😆 Knowing the novel has a happy ending, anything different than that would drive us all crazy. After revenge, XFF/JL needs to enjoy the rest of her life and no more suffering!

I literally had enough of this arc. In general, it wasn't really great, and nothing they do can make it better. So I just want it to be finished and done so we can move on to something better, 😁 like the downfall of the princess and ex husband. And of course, Duke Su's battle with King Cheng.

Poor Aunt Hu, she was just a convenient plot device that wasn't needed anymore. I guess we need to go down the explanation that she killed herself to give more depth to her words, make it more dramatic for the father to believe in her revelations, especially on the first wife's death, as there was no proof to her revelation, just her word.

Bottom line, yes, she just had to die no matter what. I wish it didn't feel so preventable, but this is what we got. Instead of satisfaction about the stepmother's plans falling apart, we got Tong's death. 🥲

They always seem to kill off the sidekicks/right-hand men towards the end of a show. Do they know we can cry and feel emotionally invested even if they don't go on a killing spree? 😅 Let's just hold on to our tissues for the rest of the show. 🤧😭

They did a lot of foreshadowing with his talk about losses. I guess he will lose one or both of the guards, too. After JL had the conversation with Tong about the future, I thought, "Okay, she will definitely die." 😭😭😭 I mean every death could have been avoided with hindsight, and we could think that the guard made an error by leaving to take that girl away and took his time coming back. The other guards might have been on standby waiting for his command outside. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Regardless, the writers wanted to kill Tong. 😥

Don't know. Duke Su said she can 'afford' some losses and he too. Obviously, he didn't know it will be Tong, but I guess he will lose somebody too, probably one or both of his guards. I feel that was foreshadowing. I hope not, but it was for Tong together with the talking of the future part, typical foreshadowing of death in dramas 😰😨

After that conversation, I had a strong feeling that her character would meet her demise. It was one of those quintessential conversations in storytelling where a character is given a significant moment to reflect on their future before their untimely end. Poor Tong. She deserved better, but at least she didn't suffer too much and died quickly.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hoping he will have more screentime that will not result in him getting killed for more shock value 🤣

The girl's voice was just confirmed by the mother, which made the father believe it was really her. Despite the many years that had passed, causing him to forget her voice, he yearned to remember it. He wanted the spirit to be real. As for the rest... it was a bit weak, but at this point, I want this part to be over and to continue with the rest of the revenge. We can pretend that all was perfect because they truly believe in ghosts and spirits 😅 But it was really underwhelming

No, I was talking about when she drugged JL and wanted her to be found in bed with a man at the Palace.

But her daughter doesn't have her level of viciousness either. For example, when the guy was plotting to kill JL, she drew a line, at least on that. Her mother, when faced with evil, decided to embrace it for her own gain. I wish Ruoyao had some more moral ground to understand that rape as well is as serious as murder, regardless of how she was manipulated by her mother. I mean, to acknowledge it now and make amends as much as possible

Finally, she will get what she deserves! JL looked very confident, so that means she knows every single part of her stepmother's plan, and she will destroy her 😁

He was an observer, and at that point, he likely already knew about the ties between the princess and her husband. He found the timing of the accident too convenient not to be suspicious, especially considering he had already investigated everyone involved, their general reputation etc

More likely, I was mistaken. There was such an overload of information in the first episodes to set up the story, and I did watch it in a less-than-ideal environment (public transport after work 😅). Normally, I do rewatch the episodes one more time to catch all the details, especially since my first viewing was emotional and not critical because of the terrible fates of XFF and JL 🥲

My bad then, as I thought it was once she moved to the capital 😱. So was Duke Su already investigating the gold mines, etc., then? He looked at her when his sidekick pointed out that she is the most talented lady there. Ps. Now, I need to rewatch that scene, as I need a new perspective on it. Him being there gives a different meaning to it (regarding his revenge plans, not romance).
