Halfway through episode 33, I discovered that, after years had passed since episode 1, the teenage/child character Amai was friends with had never aged. I suppose this is what happens to characters who return solely to advance the plot; they exist outside of time and space until the plot requires them to step in for a minute or two
Thinking on it a little more....Normally excessively fleshed out side character's story can occasionally be annoying,…
In this case, it appears that the writers are either unfamiliar with the source material or are unable to reach a consensus on how to adapt the novel. As a result, the character development is lacking, and with the exception of the main characters, the supporting cast is underdeveloped and lacks compelling storylines. These characters are introduced briefly but never fully fleshed out, leaving us with little reason to invest in their journeys. Their limited screen time and purely functional role in advancing the main plot give no potential for emotional resonance. When someone dies here, I simply don't care. They took FL and everything that was supposed to be hers and gave it to the ML. But then they decided to make him mediocre because perhaps they didn't want him to outshine her. I don't understand their thought process at all. If they had adapted Love like The Galaxy, imagine what it would have looked like with the kind of adaptation 'Amai joins the Army' had. All characters had potential, but they just wasted it

Don't think it would ever happen 😅 she will discover how he was doing all of it for her bla bla, and than she will help him and forgive him but she will leave because he needs to be the amazing Emperor everybody knew he can be with an orchestal malinconic but victorious music of him sitting on the throne and her riding alone towards the sunset. Promising herself she will come back if he needs her but even if far apart she will always love only him and never have another man again. 🤣🤣🤣
I think it may be time to update the Cast & Credit information with these changes:Wang Rui Chang (Chang Yu Qing)…
Wang Rui Chang had more screen time as a supporting role in The Long Ballad than he does here as one of the main cast. Perhaps there was a disagreement between the writers behind closed doors. Everything feels like it was written by two opposing factions who wanted two completely different shows. It just feels disjointed and weird overall
This has got to be the most aggravating drama, I have seen in a very long time. Don’t know what sunk faster…
I'm still so bothered by the fact that the issue between the leads is a misunderstanding because the empress intercepted the letter... but in real life, no explanation from him would be accepted, as he is literally forcing her to be his concubine, telling her secret to everybody without talking to her first, and doing things for "her own good" when it is for his own. He said it himself: he wants to keep her under his control/sight and wanted a way for her to not be able to ever go to Beimo (both because he thinks he can decide if she needs to carry on her revenge and also because he thinks she might end up liking the other guy). And the worst part is she would forgive him 😭 as she already did when he lied and kept things from her in the past
So annoyed. SYZ I am so annoyed with you I can't even say. First of all, you know that your close man, MB is the…
I mean, he wouldn't last too long in the army either. There is only so much you can do with the talents of others and luck. At some point, his inadequacy would have come out. His lack of progress as a character in the show is just weird. Years passed, and he didn't improve at all. How is that possible? Was his brain frozen in time? I mean, even if you use others for plans and strategy, after so much time on the job, even the most talentless person would learn something, anything!
At this point, we all know what we dislike about this show, and the list is endless. 😅🤣 But what did you like that made you think, "Okay, it crashed and burned, but it still wasn't a complete waste of my time"? <- This is me being positive that it can't get any worse than it has in the last four episodes. I'll go first:
1. The initial concept (story, FL) 2. The OST 3. Discovering the original novel 4. Overall, the look of the show 5. This comment section 🤣 6. Anticipating new episodes of a show I don't like anymore 7. The actors (they did well with what they were given) 8. It was a good show in the first third of episodes 9. Overall, it was watchable. If I rate all the episodes and try to find a mean number, I guess it would be almost a passable number, almost...
When she is drinking after hearing that ML got married and reminiscing their "love" moments - there is really…
All the characters become so one-dimensional, instead of being at the peak of their characterization, even the prime minister and the empress. The story is so bad that I'm actually curious to see how much worse it can get. On a much smaller scale, it reminds me of Game of Thrones, where the writing just went straight down the toilet in the last few seasons. That one really got on my nerves. Even after all these years, I still get triggered when I think about it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sometimes, when you're nice and try to please everyone, you end up causing more problems than if you just took…
It is obvious that these writers don't know how to write a good story, or if they do, they weren't bothered. At the beginning, I thought that because of the censorship, they had to delete some scenes and edit it quickly to be released, so it feels choppy and weird at some points. But with all the plots and cheap tropes they are using in the last 10 episodes, I realized that it is the writers who can't deliver a good story. The miscommunications between the leads, the lack of growth of the ML, the badly written story, and the secondary characters who have no depth or purpose except to aid the plot when needed to make events easier to happen, are just the tip of the iceberg. The novel is not everybody's cup of tea, but at least leave the main story intact. You can make it more commercial in other ways, especially if your ideas are so bad. As well to leave the ML as a victim of circumstances they even decided it was a great idea for him to be literally r*ped by the Empress...
