Overrated boring slice of life in the boonies. Only first few episodes were interesting, the rest is a snoozefest.…
I'm guessing you're completely free of mental health challenges then? Because I can relate a lot to the ML's struggles and internal fears. They are very real and it's sad that you're missing the point.
Agreed. Zee and Saint never actually french kissed (which is still a little surprising) but whatever passion they…
I prefer there to feel like there's some sort of connection between the actors, and that can be for any genre. I'm watching an Issei Takahashi drama that has nothing really to do with romance, at least not so far, but the leads have fabulous chemistry for their roles. It really does matter a lot. There has to be a story that works and the actors have to click. If they don't, why bother watching? I drop so many dramas because it just isn't working.
Why RU? is an outlier for me because I personally think the story is crap, but the chemistry between Zee and Saint was off the charts. I don't usually keep watching dramas if the story stinks, but that one was an exception for me.
Might sound controversial but having two actors french kissing does not necessarily mean they have good chemistry.…
Agreed. Zee and Saint never actually french kissed (which is still a little surprising) but whatever passion they were tapping into feels a lot more real. I feel like Zee was always very aware of NuNew's youth. Because, boy, I was aware of his youth. I quit after 4 episodes and then caught a kissing video on youtube, but I'm still just not feeling it. Is french kissing hot? Yes, I guess, but not if there's really not much chemistry going on. Or flushing. Because nobody could flush like Zee when he was with Saint and I just didn't see that happening for him here.
Have you finished watching this dramas?? How is it? 😊
It's very good, you should watch it. It's an excellent highlight of Takahashi Issei's talent (he's phenomenal) and reminded me that Ayase Haruka is a pretty terrific actress.
You're giving the impression that you only watch BL when judging by your watchlist, that's clearly not true. Soooooo . . . . you're not making any sense. Wait until it comes out and try it and then see what happens. Thai Lakorns can be pretty amazing. Thailand has that whole other side of their entertainment industry that you should at least consider, especially since the actors do cross that line between Thai BL and Thai Lakorn.
It's fine, but way over-hyped, like how I feel about Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru. There's a bit of a pretentious vibe from the writing style that just bugs me. The episodes make me feel like I'm watching "Castle" or "Murder, She Wrote," which isn't actually a good thing because it means this type of story has been done practically to death. The secondary actors are all merely average. Suda Masaki is interesting to watch, as always, but his character is where that pretentious vibe is coming from.
Awww, I agree about "Run On." I don't watch a lot of Kdramas so I'm picky about the ones I do watch. But I love most of "Run On" and I just adore the soundtrack. It's such a sweet slow-burn story and the OST is delightful and suits it so well.
"Let's Fight Ghost" is my favorite Thai Lakorn so far. And while that's not saying much since I haven't watched that many yet, I do tend to continue loving the first of anything that I watch. So I suspect it will stay a fav. Saintsup is GENIUS as Off, oh my gosh, so brilliant. There were elements of the Kdrama I liked better (the ghostbusters duo for example and the villain), but yes, the story is so much better in the Thai version. And the chemistry of the leads, yes, please.
Watched "Oh My Ghost" too and like you, meh. It was okay, but not one I would ever bother rewatching. Sort of bland. And overall very annoying. Ghost girl really got on my nerves.
I'll have to go through your list and pick some more Lakorns to try. I love ghost stories apparently, something I always suspected about myself but I'm fully realizing now. And I am so trying "I See Dead People" after reading your thoughts.
I am planning to watch this. Can someone tell me which version I should watch? Which one is better ? The Korean…
That's a totally subjective question and you'll get a totally subjective answer. It's going to depend on each individual viewer as to which version they like best, and neither preference will be right or wrong.
