I actually bought the dvd collection several years ago because I anticipated that it would become hard to find over time. That is the only time that I have done that for a drama.

I looked at your "completed" list and noticed that my second-favorite k-drama is not there -- My Mister. Lee Sun-kyun and IU. Hope that you have time for it, and enjoy it, of course.

I agree with almost all of it. "Fangirl" also has a brilliant review of Secret Love Affair that I agree with in its entirety.

I have found the MDL average ratings to be nearly useless. Personal preferences and all that.

Eight years. Whenever I think of this drama I get sad. Lee Yoo Ri's performance was so spectacular. Everything that she has done since has been unworthy of her talent. I have always wondered why she did not become a bigger star, doing more important work. Anyway, I will never watch another drama with 50+ episodes, but when this one ended, I went into a state of mourning. Everyone should watch it. After it ended, I would visit from time to time and re-watch my favorite scenes.

I'm only three episodes in, but I think that this is the best performance IU has ever given. Moon So Ri is always great.

Different strokes for different folks.

I hate films about adultery for all the usual reasons. This is different. It is actually a move TOWARD morality, as you will see. As a bonus, you get the best music ever in a Korean movie or drama. Best acting, writing, and direction as well.

The average MDL score is often wildly off the mark. That is the case here. It will take me a while to make a guess as to why it is not rated much higher.

I would not have known of The Deal if you had not mentioned it here. I am glad you did. I gave it a 9. I will probably be watching the last half of the final episode again. I was caught by surprise.

I consider this the GOAT among K-dramas. I have watched end-to-end five times, favorite scenes many more. I even bought the DVD set. I have not done that for any other drama. Hope you enjoy it.

Along the way, I had some complaints about the script, but at the end of the final play I was crying and could not remember what the complaints were. I guess that I will have to watch it again to find out. I rarely re-watch dramas, but I don't think that I will mind re-watching this one. I am a serious fan of Kim Tae Ri.

I have made it through 8 episodes, but I swear that the writing gets worse with each one. I may just wait until it ends and then watch the final episode to see how it all wrapped up.

My Father Is Strange is also 50, actually 52, episodes, but the parents have a solid marriage. Eventually, the oldest daughter does as well. In fact, all the marriages work out. No cheating. The drama comes from other life-problems. Lee Yoo Ri, as the oldest daughter, gives a great acting performances.

I feel that Lee Yoo Ri's performance here to be one of the greatest that I have ever seen. Sometimes she underplays. Sometimes she "chews the scenery." But she is always on point. We have Kim So Yeon to thank because she walked away from the part as filming was beginning, forcing the producers to quickly find a replacement She would not have played the part as well.

Just finished ep 5. The writing is sub-par. The reason I am still watching is that I enjoy looking at Kim So Yeon. I will never forget how she walked away from My Father Is Strange just before filming began. In a panic, producers turned to Lee Yoo Ri, who gave one of the greatest performances that I have ever seen, but since has not done anything worthy of her talent. We live in a strange world.

I believe that this is the first time that I have seen Yeon Woo Jin in anything. He seems charisma-free. Maybe it is just me.

Kim Sung Ryung and Kim Sun Young are doing their usual solid work.

I guess that it is too late to bring in a superior writer to finish this up. : (

This is one of the first kdramas that I watched. I had forgotten just how good it is. It is not my all-time favorite, but it is a close competitor.
