I never did really understand why the ML fell in love with the FL. She was not exactly warm and fuzzy. Only started to improve very late. Much of the plot made me cringe. "Why don't they do this?" "Why don't they do that?" I favor dramas that make me stay up too late because I want to see what happens next. With QOT, I didn't really care very much. By the time that I wanted to quit, I thought, "There are only a few more episodes. I may as well finish it." A generous 7.5. Park Ji Eun is not my favorite writer.

I mostly agree with you. JJH is one of the world's elite. I wonder what happened to Park Ji Eun. The writing quality in the last several episodes has really fallen off.

While waiting for Tears to wrap up, I have been re-watching My Love From The Star (Kim So Hyun and same writer). What stands out the most to me is how much better at acting Jun Ji Hyun is than Kim Ji Won. It is as if JJH has ten speeds, while KJW has only two. I am not being mean. They are both better than I would be.

You are right, of course. The writing seems to be getting worse with each episode. The only reason that I am not dropping it is that there are only two to go.

Agree. I have been tempted to drop it. I have been watching much of it a 1.5. They have been stretching it to get to 16 episodes.

I just finished episode 6. I have found that I am watching most of it at 1.5. I enjoy the overall story and the acting, but I wonder if it should have been 8-12 episodes in length.

lesle, have a heart. I watched this five years ago. I have found that if I rate a movie, or drama, 7 or less, I barely remember it a year later. BTW, I'm 76. I think that makes me the oldest person in the world. Or is that the dementia talking?

Can Kim Seo Hyung smile? OK, she tried a couple of times. While she is charismatic, over the years I have grown tired of her inability to emote.

The drama kept reminding me of Secret Love Affair, except that SLA was so much better, not just because of Kim Hee Ae and Yoo Ah-in.

Serious disappointment. I expected it to be at least as good as the original. Instead, I found myself switching from 1.25 and 1.5. Ken Watanabe sleep-walked through the entire film. The director should be ashamed of himself. The editor too.

Availability update: I found it on dramanice.la and kissasian.lu. It may be elsewhere as well, but I stopped looking.

I just checked on Ebay. Several vendors have it, both in DVD and Blue-ray. I bought it from megamoviebazaar because it is in about 400 miles from where I live. About $40-45 for DVD.

You are right, of course. I knew going in that this was not my normal "cup of tea." It was the rating that moved me to try it. Through the entire drama, I was about an inch away from dropping it. As I mentioned earlier, it was a desire to see how all the loose ends were brought together that kept me going.

I am bewildered by the high average rating. I watched all 16, but it was a struggle. Half of it was viewed at 1.5 or 2.0. The only reason that I stayed with it was to see how all the parts were tied together. If you enjoyed it, well, good for you. There have been dramas that I thought were great but received a low rating. That's life. Different strokes for different folks.

I admit that the leap from Hye Won to Ted Bundy is beyond my comprehension, so I guess that a friendly discussion is not going to happen. Have a good life. Be kind to others. Learn to calm down. Hye Won had regrets, massive regrets. She threw away the best years of her life chasing the superficial instead of the substantive. Should she have divorced her husband before fooling around? Of course. But have some compassion for how confused she was while her entire world was so in flux.

I understand where you are coming from. I disliked every "affair" story that I had ever come across (book or movie) until Secret Love Affair. And yet, this is my favorite Korean drama, even over My Mister. That is why I visit monthly to read the comments. I suppose that I should stop doing that.
