And Zhao Yi Qin only do short dramas to get main roles since 2023. He is very struggle to get ML roles from full length dramas, especially big budget dramas. KMLM is actually very great. It's one of my fave dramas. The ML is not as black flag as in the novel. But the screen writer modified the story greatly. It was exciting from beginning until the end. Especially for palace politics and game of thrones. The chemistry + kissing scenes are also great.

The production team changed the ML cruel and crazy behaviour in the novel into "normal" red flag ML like Murong Jinghe drama version. That's why the results are different with novel reader expectations. But I really love it. I still prefer normal Red Flag ML than wild, cruel, and crazy ML like original novel. He raped and abused FL so badly in the novel. He also killed many innocent people in the novel. Most of the people who enjoy KMLM also like Murong Jinghe drama version.

True or not, people already had negative impressions about this and Xu Kai lead many upcoming big dramas at this point. That's why i am anxious about his future projects.
