remembering now how ling buyi plotted to make the wang clan fall, he was so sure of himself but few words of shaoshang to the crown prince managed to ruin his cunning maneuvers, a bit crazy... the tension was from there too " are you satisfied now" this was so cold... he's worried for her of course but someone like him... i don't think he likes she meddled in his plans... and it goes with what she reproached him "your plans, your stratagems, and your thoughts, you didn't tell me any of them"... he said "i just don't want you to be in danger, i want the best for you" sure thing, but i think it's more than that... it would be a bit ironical with how he forces himself in her heart and wants her to 100% accept him, yet he unconsciously doesn't 100% accept her... however not because he doesn't think she's good enough tho but because he's just like her, a lone wolf who doesn't trust anyone and has been surviving alone, doing what he wants without caring about others feelings or the consequences... i don't think he knows himself what he wants from her, where she should stand in his life since him falling for her wasn't in his plans either... this fight is 100% foreshadowing what will happen to their couple
consort yue is so cool, no wonder the emperor loves her so much...
kinda upsetting marquis yue and her daughter are so messy, especially the marquis since he's involved in the huo clan massacre and in today episode consort yue seemed sincere when she talked about ling buyi uncle... the consort daughter just got too influenced by her uncle and attacking shaoshang was her first mistake since ling buyi is already targetting marquis yue, third princess going to end very BADLY for sure... the fake money thing will be her loss consort yue seems to be an upright person but i'm pretty sure she's aware of the miasma thing tho... i wonder how things are going to unfold
I hope we are done with all the mean girl scenes bc I am getting really tired of them and idk... I just really…
in episode 28 preview and also in the drama teaser -when she enters the place, we see her getting bullied again and again so i don’t think it’s stopping any time soon unfortunately 😔
and i’m a bit twisted about this scene i like him protecting her and telling these two pests off since they deserve it but i would have also preferred to have shaoshang standing up for herself and this is definitely why she wasn’t feeling content, he’s so domineering what could she say? it was uncomfortable and not that romantic
i feel like the whole scene and when they talked in the carriage showed his privileges as a man and his lack of sensitivity when it comes to that, but i can’t be upset at him because that’s how most men were behaving at this era, i don’t think he cared much about equality until that small fight with shaoshang over the bread
These comments have shed a new light on the different ways each character’s motivations and actions can be interpreted.…
for the sloppily written part, since the beginning if there is one thing shaoshang isn’t going to do is keep her mouth shut 🤣 wether it’s with her mum, her aunt, her grandma, the luo family, yuan shen, the bullies-princesses and even in front of the rebels, she never stayed silent and reason why she keeps collecting ennemies; she’s bold, very honest and doesn’t always think of the consequences before saying something. 🤭 as for not being able to defend herself, she actually did, she went against the youngest princess and almost got herself disfigured since they all ganged up against her, since she’s the daughter of a low-ranked general it’s not as if she can headbutt the princesses at her free will because i’m sure she would have otherwise 🤣 about not mimicking basic social skills, she knows how to fight but does she know to properly hold a conversation with anyone she isn’t close with? mmm 🤔 she’s after all quite a reserved child who was alone most of the time, she didn’t receive any proper education either so no basic social skills, she could mimic some for sure but i feel like in such an environment she wouldn’t know how to act, and we saw her in the palace from being excited to scared she didn’t know how to act and had a hard time keeping composure. if we keep in mind she’s 15, she’s also very naive, it’s like the duality of her character, a young child who has experienced way too much harsh things but is still very innocent after all. if you’re talking about the part where she met the emperor and the empress at some point of their meeting you could tell she felt comfortable enough to say everything she had on her mind, she didn’t fear them since they praised her 😯
you will understand in part 2 why they antagonize her mum so much in the drama, they follow the book so the last…
yes third aunt is definitely one as well but the time they spent together is a bit too short while i think it’ll be few years with the empress, definitely both shaoshang real mums :’)

shaoshang will enter the palace and get really close to the empress to the point where she will become a mother figure to her, and make her mum regret later
CSS mother is really out of order and line. However I wonder why the writers decided that CSS should be suffering…
you will understand in part 2 why they antagonize her mum so much in the drama, they follow the book so the last bound between mother and daughter breaking in episode 24 was necessary for what will happen next in shaoshang life :)
