because he suffers from epilepsy (xiyun saw him having a crisis and helped him) and they consider this sickness as being cursed and possessed by demons so he can’t let people know about this and kills anyone who does (also why he was rejected by his mum)
i can already guess xiyun will be the one accidentally creating a fight between lanxi and his older brother; since lanxi is so protective of xiyun and his brother tried to kill her, it’ll add on misunderstandings and lanxi will go against him to protect her… since his older brother is already very sensitive, he’ll take this to heart and their relationship will probably deteriorate… that’s sad since i loved their brothers relationship but i guess it’s inevitable (unless they properly talk about it but i don’t think so)
I'm at episode 8 now and I keep on having fellings that there's a love triangle to happen(sorry for my bad English)…
if you mean with feng wu, there wasn’t one in the book but since feng wu is a lot different in the drama it’s hard to say, but since we see feng wu and xiyu becoming friends in the trailer, it might follow the book trope with feng wu always wishing to marry lanxi but then perfectly knowing it will never happen because she realizes early she’s no match for her and just can’t compete with xiyu
jealous lanxi has to be my favorite thing... really liked the first 8 episodes, chemistry between our leads is…
the 3 first episodes were pretty much the same as the novel and then it diverged with their take on lanxi family which really made me love his older brother, i got really surprised with the big changes on qiwu character but i like her even more in the drama, drama romance only focus on the main couple which i'm definitely not complaining about haha, the boat scene was so cute, they look so good together!!

Is this going to a that kind of drama where once the ML starts liking the FL will his whole world will revolve…
in the book it’s more complicated than that, feelings aren’t involved for both sides until the end, ml only likes her a lot at first but also wants to rule the world so it’ll get very ugly between them at some point … fl is indeed ignorant of how he feels at first, when she realizes she likes him too she doesn’t say anything because she knows he’s a man greedy for power; their relationship is quite complicated and their dynamic is what i preferred in the book so don’t worry about any “cliche” trope between ml and fl, it’s nothing like that (if they keep it the same as in the book)
just watched episode 1 and the editing is terrible... the way the scenes are cut got me screaming lol, (and the pacing i won't mention it omg), but the acting is good as expected from the two leads so i'll keep watching for them, hopefully the editing gets a bit better later
I'm currently reading the novel. but i think I'm gonna drop it coz i think the plots are too heavy for my preference.…
1. yes there is, there is like 1/2 scenes in the middle of the story (but it's just a bit romantic and more like tension?) and then toward the end there are the confessions and everything! 2. yes there is few at the end, even very major ones i would say? but very satisfying because it was what lanxi deserves hahah (she's mad at him for the right reasons)
Guuuuys, I need to know :P Was there a love triangle in the novel? And if there was, was it very annoying?
there are a few male leads who like xiyun, at first she loves someone else, then she likes another person (both of them liked her too but it didn't work), and only after she starts liking lanxi (or more like she realizes he was always the one? but i'm not so sure about that more like how i interpreted it), but to answer i wouldn't consider that love triangle, her love life is a bit complicated tbh ahaha
some of the comments here reminds me of vincenzo comment section when the drama was airing... in many dark dramas comedy is always present in the first episodes because of how dark the following episodes will be, they always change the tone after few episodes, i didn't read the books but i know we have a lot of toxic and angsty coming so enjoy the comedy for now LOL
