Right?? It makes a lot of sense, when I finished watching the episode, I recall the very last scene of Episode…
Hello! We got 11 minutes left before the final episode and gdi I'm nervous as heck as well hahaha it's crazy that this drama had such an effect on us, but it's part of the fun!

And you're welcome! Crank-in is another term which pertains to when filming for a work starts :) I wonder when they will post the crank-up shots, ne? They haven't posted it even until now haha

It's fishy that they haven't posted any crank-up photos yet except for Ayame Misaki's (track and field club manager Aoki Nana). They also tweeted that the final episode is already undergoing post-production... could they still be filming something else? An extra episode perhaps?

Yeah!! Tbh I'd like it if he and Kase are the main culprit haha. Though now, in hindsight, there are some holes in the Daiki criminal theory too๐Ÿค”

I just read an article that pointed out that Kase and Azusa may be Tatsuo's accomplice and it makes a lot of sense as well (https://www.hinapishi.com/entry/2021/12/15/165554)

Since they still haven't cranked up yet, perhaps they're still filming somehing extra?๐Ÿ‘€

is this worth watching?
Yes! Especially if you like mystery/suspense with romance. The mysteries in the show have a knack of keeping you on your toes. The pilot episode's a strong one so you can give the 1st episode a try to get a feel of whether you'll like it or not :)

I think the pen is the hint that producer Arai and the directors was talking about before! They mentioned that…
It's alright! I apologize for the late reply as well ^^"

IKRRR like, Fuji just spit it out haha, he looked equal parts suspicious of Daiki and worried of what he might hear so I wonder what made him accuse Daiki of being at the scene of the incident 15 yrs ago. But if it's Daiki, I think it will give sense to some certain scenes like in E05 when Tatsuo "confessed", his thoughts repeatedly going back to Rio and her wound bacj in E02 and E03... but this may be another diversionary tactic.

I like Kase as well! Haha but I have this wish that he and Dai-chan will be the culprit๐Ÿคฃ must be the angst-lover in me haha! But also coz it will be a mindblowing twist. But then having them as the culprit reduces the chances of a happy ending of Daiki/Rio and Kase๐Ÿ˜ญ

Same thoughts with Masanobu, he's the character most cast aside haha we just learned more about him in E02 then just got bits and pieces in the other episodes. Even Azusa had more devt than him!

I've actually considered Daiki being Tatsuo's accomplice in dumping Kosuke's body but despite it making so much sense, I didn't want to dwell on it coz I want a happy ending for our Rio and Daiki.... welp, so much for putting these thoughts at the back of my mind haha.

Good job, Saiai team! Objectively a smart move, but subjectively a painful one hahaha! I guess in the next episode, we'll know the whole truth of whether Daiki's really involved. I'm equal parts excited and sad coz it will be the last one :(

(P.S. in Saiai's Ask Arai P event, someone asked if they will make an SP/sequel, and she mentioned thinking about it, so here's to hoping that we'll hear some good news soon! https://twitter.com/saiai_tbs/status/1469309520384249864)

HAHA I can relate! Though I can't help myself from speculating who's the culprit and all that.๐Ÿ˜‚

It was actually a really sneaky detail! I wouldn't have noticed it either if I haven't rewatched parts of that episode, too. Yeah, Fuji's really sus๐Ÿ‘€ But I recently saw a tweet from a j-netizen that the one who helped Tatsuo might be Masanobu... there actually were some ppl who speculated this before but I shrugged it off coz it seemed improbable but now, with some pictures of their hands to compare... they might be onto something๐Ÿ‘€

From what I remember, Kase was just depicted as someone who has been with the Sanada family since he graduated college, and he's described as the Sanada watchdog who will protect the family and the company. From E08, we got the reason why he's so devoted to Rio, but to the family/company in general, I guess it's because it practically became his family after his own died(?). With the setup for Kase that they did at the end of E08, I have a feeling we'll get more answers next episode!

Honestly, one of Saiai's strengths is turning our own perceptions on a character a full 180 degrees, such as from being indifferent/annoyed to sympathetic towards both Shiori and Goto in the past couple of episodes.

Also, Kase....๐Ÿ‘€ he definitely knows that something's up with Azusa. She's not telling him something. I feel like both him and Goto will be made scapegoats. Kase may know something about either of the two Watanabe cases, though, but this is just me...

No problem! :) and lol idk whether to laugh or despair at the number of deaths part haha, I feel like if we binge-watched this we'd have an easier time remembering details but hey, watching it as it's on-going is fun, too!

Ahhh, yes, knowing Kase, there is a chance that he did that. Same, I'm waiting for more revelations about the brother, too! I was actually getting worried about them leaving out some loose threads or losing the pace with fleshing out characters as we're nearing the end but there's still hope with the last two episodes.

AND YAAAS FUJI!! They gotta keep us hanging haha. I have a feeling that he's communicating with the Sanada family and he might be the "accomplice" of Tatsuo in dumping Kosuke's body back then. Remember when they showed a shadow moving behind Tatsuo in E05? Plus him getting mad when the cannabis incident was revealed shows that he might not be present during that time, or at least he went out when it was happening and arrived back at the dorms exactly when Tatsuo came back.

RIGHT?? Shiori made it from my "feeling indifferent" list right up to the "ones I sympathize with" part with Rio and Yuu. Maybe they'll do the same with Kase? Hmmm all these theories haha~

about the pen... i think i'm missing smth? is it related to shiori's case or kosuke's dad's case?also i feel like…
I think the pen is the hint that producer Arai and the directors was talking about before! They mentioned that there's a hint in E01, and yeah it's related to Kosuke's dad's case. If you remember in E01, they show that scene where they found Watanabe Akira's body, right? When they were laying out the body and the items by the pond, you can see a red pen as part of the objects that were extracted from the crime scene.

Also, the show's been good at turning our impressions on some characters around in a single episode (e.g., Shiori and Goto), so I feel that Kase may be a red herring. But still, like you said, considering how he cherishes Rio.... we might be onto something here. Plus, that preview video of Azusa thanking him.....

I don't think the father knew what his son did to those girls though.
Kjsdjk this reminds me of episode 02 of Samayou Yaiba, in that some parents like to believe that their children did no wrong. I used to hold a shred of sympathy towards Watanabe papa but now that you reminded me of this part, I completely lost it lol

Rio wasn't even assaulted. Yuu saved her before Kosuke could do anything. She always had people by her side to…
Right, thanks for pointing that out! Another contrast between them is Rio's always protected by the people around her, but Shiori had herself only. This episode's so good, they made us empathize with Shiori in a short span of time.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too, since she always mentions justice, and how the criminal should be punished, it seems that she really just wanted to expose the donation scam because of her principles. She does think life is unfair towards her, but it doesn't seem to translate to any malicious feelings towards Rio. Do you think she killed Watanabe Akira, though?

After watching E07 with subs, I empathized so much with Shiori :((
The revelations in the episode made me understand her character and her motivations. Back in E02, they mentioned ONE student filing a sexual assault complaint against Kosuke.... that girl was Shiori. Knowing about her background made me realize how strong and justice-driven her character is, and perhaps this is one of the reasons why she's so fixated on the allegations against Sanada Wellness.

The contrast between her and Rio's lives was painful. Like what she said, it's "unfair" that Rio got to "change the world" while she's right there struggling to breathe. Of course she didn't know that Rio's also still tormented by the memories of Kosuke, but still.

Also, her and Rio!! She looked so hopeful when asking Rio if she remembered her, and dejected when she figured that our Sanada shachou did not remember her. That short scene of their interaction in Shirokawa-go was heartwarming, made more poignant by the fact that it's the first time we saw her smile genuinely.

If only these things did not happen, they probably would have still been friends, or good acquaintances, in the least. My heart totally went out to her in this episode. At least there's the happy-fluffy scenes of our Daiki-Rio-Yuu trio to heal my heart at the same time haha.

But didn't the media publicize the cannabis incident and Shiori's case against Kosuke? So he must have known. And if I remember correctly, in the earlier episodes (2, I think?), the media approached Kosuke's dad about the incident and he said something about it.
