hahaha considering the previous comments, this week's plot twist wasnt too much of a surprise, but i'm so glad…
Looked through the local viewers' tweets earlier and some speculate that someone's trying to set up Yuu, like... maybe someone could have imitated the scar on his arm and made it look like it's him who strangled Kosuke's dad?
one of the things that caught my eyes from the beginning was that the team behind this drama (director and screenwriters)…
Heyyyy it's you again, hello!😆 I just recently found out about this too and whoaaaa the girl power behind this drama!! It makes it even more amazing! And speaking of Kikazuru Koi, you just reminded me that I should watch it haha, I probably need it to balance the angst of Saiai😂
(btw what should we have as the title for the discussion here? :D )
So turns out that the writer for episodes 1-3 is Okudera Satoko, while for episode 4 is Shimizu Yukako. Both Shimizu-san and Kouhei and Iura Arata were teasing viewers about today's episode, mentioning the key points for E04 and how the timing of Kimi ni Muchuu for this episode is destructive..... I'm both nervous and excited haha!
EDIT: just watched the raws and IT'S INDEED DESTRUCTIVE THE TIMING OF UTADA HIKARU'S KIMI NI MUCHUU NEVER FAILS GDI
Remember Kase's narration at the start? That's one cause for worry, I think that it's even more foreshadowing…
Haha alright then, let's go with it! Doing it once E04 drops is a good idea, that way we'll have a lot more people to share our thoughts with :D
Hopefully we'll get to see that soon! That ✨developments ✨ though hahaha count me in with that anticipation as well!
Lmao yes, I imagine it will be fun to tease him and see him try to reign in control over his emotions and everything🤣 and tbh, considering that Mitchy's the actor for Goto, it's way more hilarious seeing the gap between his real-life self and him as Goto haha!
Remember Kase's narration at the start? That's one cause for worry, I think that it's even more foreshadowing…
Right? Haha based on E03 he wants to protect the company so Goto is sus as well🤣 That's actually the reason why I'm hesitating to make a discussion here HAHA I'm gonna miss filling the comment section with my thoughts😆 should we, should we? Haha
Well.... Kase said "don't ask for anything in return" so this might be possible hmmm. That's another thing, I'm starting to see a love triangle between Kase-Rio-Daiki but what exactly are Kase's thoughts about Rio? I'm excited for that as well, from "I'll protect your secret" to "I'll prove that it's not you" like-- talk about the development! Haha and we're nearing the halfway point of the story so I'm getting nervous about what revelations and developments will be there.
THAT'S A GOOD CATCH AAAA I MISSED THAT! Who will Rio talk to about the past.... it's telling that Rio hadn't yet talked to Kase about her past, so is her not yet telling Daiki. I have a feeling that it's Dai-chan too but let's see! Who knows, maybe it will be Goto lol🤣
Remember Kase's narration at the start? That's one cause for worry, I think that it's even more foreshadowing…
Hmm, yeah I don't think so. Since he's being asked around by Goto to do things, do you think he's somewhat involved? Or maybe - since Goto seemed to be in good terms with Rio's mother and cares about the company - Rio's mom is behind it? I feel like Rio was crying in the taxi because Watanabe might have mentioned something that have something to do with Yu. And it's alright I feel you haha I have so many thoughts that I feel like creating a discussion thread here in MDL just so we can all let loose with our theories😂
Daiki the bot is the best!😂 To be honest, objectively, I feel like this episode is showing the sensibility of one possible end for the love story part of the series - of Rio choosing Kase, who's the person supporting her present self. On the other hand, I also felt like the writers gave this episode as an opportunity for Rio and Daiki to confront the distance between them, acknowledge it.... then bridge it (their last scene). Perhaps. Hopefully (lol team Dai-chan haha!). Like, after acknowledging that distance, they'll be like, "ok, where do we go from here?". One option is to continue acting and meeting as detective/president. Another is moving forward together while understanding their current predicaments. With this, instead of continuing where they left off, it will feel more like starting anew with each other.
I'm really looking forward to how he'll react once he learns that Kosuke assaulted Rio, he'll definitely feel angry at that. The trauma truly affected Rio and Yu's lives, looking back at their young selves vs. now.... it really is devastating :(
Wow, nice observation about at the end of the episode Dai-chan sitting next to Rio contrasting at the start of…
Haha thank you! I feel like - after opening the episode showing their distance, then repeatedly showing how close her and Kase have been - ending it on a scene with Daiki now choosing to sit next to her is impactful. Kind of like a "ok, there's this distance, here's our situation now.... how will I act with you now?"
Thank you Kase for being there for Rio, indeed. At least in the Sanada household, she has him.
I was surprised when she called him Dai-chan, and he himself seemed surprised too lol but it felt nice to hear…
Me too!!! The way Daiki froze and looked at her for a moment that time sksks. Someone pointed out that he has yet to call her "Rio" to her face though, so we might want to watch out for that development in the future!
Remember Kase's narration at the start? That's one cause for worry, I think that it's even more foreshadowing…
OOOOH damn things will be messy if what you said is true, good catch! I wonder if that something to do with his attachment to the Sanada family...
Haha don't worry, I'm ready to conclude that he's Yu. But yes, the team is really slyyy for leading us into this conclusion when it might just as easily steer things to another direction. Based on the preview of episode 04, I think Daiki will chase Yu. I mean the informant.
AAAAAA same same, it's nice seeing Rio with Kase but I'm team Daiki. At this point, my resolve to be okay with a bitter/painful ending for them is crumbling because I'm rooting for them so much. Thank you Yuriko and Kouhei's amazing chemistry haha. Maybe Daiki's a bot? Maybe that's his secret?🤣 where can we find a Dai-chan these days //sighs
Kase-sannnn :((((( his intuition is so strong, he didn't hear anything from that phone call yet he knew it right…
Remember Kase's narration at the start? That's one cause for worry, I think that it's even more foreshadowing of him going to great lengths for Rio and the Sanada family. With dirt on the company becoming exposed, I fear this will become true :((
Hearing that song at the end lay and then reach a crescendo at showing Fumiya's face was sooooo goooood. Nicely done to the editing team haha waiting for next episode tho coz what will Daiki do about this?👀
IKR (I am Daiki/Kouhei biased am sorry HAHA) HIM THROUGHOUT THE EPISODE IS JUST SKSJSK. Plus him figuring out that Rio's crying in the taxi when everyone else was saying that she's sleeping🥺
Kuwa----ko. I'll call her Kuwako now too instead lol
This episode is pure pain haha with all of the things that happened both in the past and in the present. The subtle tonal shift is more pronounced here, perhaps because of the fact that we didn't see any happy memories from the past, as well?
Anyways, Kase really shone in this episode, aptly since he's the one who did the narration at the start (and I wonder... will that be related to future events?). We were shown his dynamic with Rio, and how he became a trusted comrade these past few years. It put into perspective the difference between Rio's dynamic with him and with Daiki.
Speaking of Daiki - DAI-CHAN!!!! SHE CALLED HIM DAI-CHAN!!!😭 But of course things can't easily go back to the way it used to be. However, notice how at the start of the episode, there's that evident (table) distance between them, but come near the end and we have Daiki sitting next to Rio and I just ---- **flips tables because of my feels lol**. I take it as them taking one step forward to trying to bridge the gap between them. That 15-second stare at the end.... reiterating what I said about Yuriko and Kouhei's chemistry - it's really, really good that my resolve to accept a heartbreaking ending for both is crumbling lol.
Agreed that Saiai has a good way of keeping you satisfied and interested at the same time, that feeling of getting…
Do you have VLC player on your Mac? That works :) Just try loading the subtitle (you can try subtitle>add subtitle file>then search for the folder containing the subs and click it)
it's good to know that yuu didnt actually just disappear... i did have a feeling he ran away bc he remembered…
Agreed that Saiai has a good way of keeping you satisfied and interested at the same time, that feeling of getting some answers and yet wanting to know more. So good. Haven't watched the 3rd episode with subs yet, though, but I'm curious with what happened to Yu running away as well hmm....
Less than 2 hours before the broadcast of episode 3..... why am I getting so nervous hahaha Saiai's social media accounts are hyping the 3rd episode up and teasing viewers that a "development" will happen..... I'm feeling antsy hahaha
First saw him in Mukou no Hate and after watching the first two episodes of Saiai I just had to go back and watch his scenes in Mukou no Hate coz he played these two different roles so well. I just know that after Saiai more good things will come for him. Officially taking him in to my faves basket now :D
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
Haha thanks! We can't help ourselves from speculating😆
I'm thinking of making a discussion here just to spill my thoughts out hahaha. But yes, for once I didn't want a tragic ending, or at least one of that degree. I want happiness for our characters /cries
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
Right? Very sus👀 and I feel like if Takahashi Fumiya appeared here, it isn't just to play an informant haha! You're right about that one, good point! Now I have to backtrack and rethink my hunch lol. Maybe Goto knows he's her brother?
HAHA the mysterious case of the missing Yu and his phone. Gotta give it to them though, we hit a roadblock there and I'm interested to see how the phone thing will be resolved. But yeah this poses a new conflict, like Rio getting accused and she has no evidence to use for her defense.... Daiki and Kase will back her up but.... without any evidence... ahhhh the show's so good haha.
Sameeee! I don't do ongoing dramas much either, the last time I did this was with Colorful Love last April. I agree, Saiai's too irresistible to put off until all the episodes are out haha! Good luck, I hope to see you again soon for E03, we have to crack the plot!🤣
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
Oooh good one! Especially because of what was revealed in E02, that's very possible as well. I feel like Yu is the informant that Goto contacts to keep an eye on Rio, and for some reason, one plot line I'm leaning towards is that Yu accepted that job from Goto so he can watch over his sis as well. That small smile he gave in E02 as he watched Rio and Kase.... I first interpreted it as something sinister but watching it again and again made me see it as something soft? Haha anyways yeah, I want to see Kase and Daiki's reactions, especially Daiki!
GAAAAH I was frustrated at that scene! I kept going "NO RIO NOOOO" when she deleted it lol, but looking back, it made sense that she'd want to erase all traces of that event coz she was so shaken up by it :( Maaaan, Kase doing that would break our hearts :( I wonder what his reason for his strong devotion to Rio is though haha he feels like both a mentor and a friend at the same time.
So see you again once E03 airs, then? Haha ikr!! We still have 8 more episodes to go, I bet it'll be even more crazy for us as more details are revealed in the next eps hahaha
GOD YES. The way they switched back to their dialect as they spoke, how Daiki berated her and Rio tried to talk…
Wait, just to clarify, you mean Rio will be the culprit, right? Coz yes, that's a strong possibility. I felt like the emphasis on Rio saying that she'll always protect Yu means something so this is very likely. Part of me thinks it might also be someone else haha. Rio being the culprit would be too depressing, I agree :( Let's hope that opening shot of her in the first 2 minutes of E01 is just her accidentally cutting herself at the lab or something haha
Gahd, yes, I felt like pushing Kase away coz you just know he'll go to great lengths to protect her T___T the implications, though..... I wonder if he'll do something against the law in the future episodes.
Anyways, thanks for talking with me about this and sharing your input as well, I appreciate it! :) My head's near bursting thinking about Saiai I just need to talk about it haha
(btw what should we have as the title for the discussion here? :D )
