this drama really failed with the character and relationship development. there's no depth. 2 eps to go and i'm…
You're not alone. I'm watching this with family, and they say the same thing. I'm the ONLY one sitting on the couch, tearing up occasionally, because I've read the webtoon & see those characters in live action.
Had I only watched the drama.. I wouldn't feel attached to the characters at all. The story is all over the place, too! They tried to smooosh too much of the story into 12 episodes, and changed core elements of the webtoon in this adaptation. Webtoon was popular for a reason :(( I get adding freshness for the viewers, but this isn't it lol
Why even bother adapting the webtoon if you're gonna change things this much? It's not even the same story anymore.…
If someone asked me if there was any great adaptation (of webtoon into drama), I'd struggle to come up with an answer. I enjoyed watching the dramas, but they don't seem to do the webtoons justice. There's just too much depth and chapters to cover, to fit into the traditional drama episode count.
He should let the chandelier fall on her. bish didn't even show any signs of gratitude towards him for saving…
She lacks empathy, or extends very low empathy for the guy. Hopefully the dynamic between the two of them improve over time, seeing as they may turn into lovers later lol
Actually, the WEBTOON is really good as it has more depth to the characters as to why they behave the way they…
Yeah
I'm enjoying the k-drama version a lot BECAUSE I've read the webtoon. It gives "life" to the characters, it's fun to see them on-screen. I get reminded of events in the webtoon which makes me tear-up a few times while watching.
However, if I only watched the k-drama... I think I may be disappointed, lost, or confused. They seem to be forcing down a lot of material all at once, editing is all over the place, lots of flashbacks without first a strong character development so new viewers can't first grow attached to the characters beforehand.
sometimes you just need to watch a drama for fun and not for professional criticizing. why do i have always see…
It's funny cause there's more outrage HERE than there was for other shows: - Goblin - Hotel Del Luna - My Love From Another Star - My GF is a Gumiho There are probably more but can't think of it presently. Anyway, that's a quite a few from K-dramaland alone! Western shows like Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Twilight, Legacies...
(Some) people are okay with one individual living an eternity and finding love, but suddenly have an issue with an individual that reborn 19 times and remembers her past life once she turns 8-9 years old??
Anyone else get randomly teary? Knowing their backstory and everything or something, I keep getting teary (i.e. her confession scene, her answer to his question) - maybe I'm grieving Joo Won.. haha.. Grieving their lost time together. Grieving her and her sister's bond... etc T-T
i wish people would read the webtoon as it makes the age gap make much more sense. she is not 1000 or however…
Yeah, and as far as memories go.. humans tend to remember bits and pieces (save for a few exceptions such as those with photographic memory). I'm sure she carries memories that are most impactful to her, close to her heart. And she probably forgot just as much, too.
Just think back to our own childhood! Do we remember eevvvvverrrrrythiiing? No! lol
The childish outbursts from people who claim to love this drama is astonishing. Try to open your minds a little…
Stalking I wish they'd stuck with the webtoon version of how Ji Eum met Seo Ha (as a child and teen, respectively) rather than the having Ji Eum stalk Seo Ha for DAYS.
Pedophilia As for pedophilia.. I'm on the fence with it. Up until the age of 8-9, she doesn't remember her past life. She's relatively normal until the flood of memories rush into her mind. But each live is still a new life. She is Ji Eum. The webtoon version of events was a lot more toned down (the level of her obsessiveness and love confessions). Just, she realized OVER TIME that she actually loves him.
Rudeness & Arrogance Seems to be traits acquired by a super long (almost eternal life). Many vampire portrayals show the arrogance and curtness of those that live forever. They're shown to be just as compassionate, caring, and loving, but also have an air of arrogance (especially when they compare themselves to humans). Is it inevitable or an avoidable outlook? I dont know.
None of us can remember our past lives, so we will never be qualified to judge how she feels. In other words,…
*Nods* All of our opinions are welcomed here.
I enjoy reading everyone's comments here - even views I disagree with. I don't have many people IRL to discuss K-Drama with (*smiles nervously* close to 0 actually), so I really appreciate all the discussion here :)
It wasn't like they lost contact, though. He had a very traumatic experience and witnessed her being killed. And…
Yep, for real! Not to mention, she promised Seo Ha's mother that she'd be there for Seo Ha when she died (EP2, I think). She may feel guilt for not being able to have done so. She may have really wanted to grow up with Seo Ha, continue as good friends.
When people reach the end of their lives, some have regrets. What's not to say that those feelings of regrets are carried over to the next life while they still remember it all? What's not to say they would seek out loved ones and try to do better or resolve their regrets?
I just want to second/ highlight this:"Dont get me started on the weird age gap. If you have the memories of your…
And in Episode 2, FL's conversation with the Ajumma, she says something along the lines of:
'No matter how old (adult) you are, we're all just pretending to be mature.'
There's some truth to that, to be honest. Of course we mature in some ways as we grow older (save for a few, unfortunate, exceptions) but we're also sometimes just a child at heart, no? :D

He gifted her a necklace!!
LOL. Why did they have to add this age-old K-Drama trope??
One visit to the ER in USA would be $2000+ EZ!!!

It's a fantasy genre, people!
