The look on that man's face. Did he think his kids would remain the little boys he could beat up and push around?…
I don't think he's scared or worried. I could be wrong, but his face expression looked l'surprised' to see his son at the doorsteps. He anticipated on hunting his son down like prey.
Scary part is, they showed us how AGE isn't a factor or a mountain to the psycho father at all. He may not be able to win hand-to-hand combat with his grown-up sons, but he is evil and will use any and all means to harm them.
See: the way he killed a young man, maybe around his son's age, with hornets, making it seem like an accident rather than homicide.
That's Korea today. What is happening with the Kang family is happening with a lot of people every day in Korea.…
Divorce proceedings, especially contested ones like this one would be (given that Ki Ho's dad is very possessive of his family and wants them under his control - mother can forget about divorce, kind of situation), is a super complex process in Korea. It's much more difficult to divorce in Korea than anywhere else, like the U.S. for instance.
There isn't a good safety network for families running away from abusive parent and/or partner. Their mother literally hid away. Her husband is a police, and would gain favor from all law enforcement. Just look at the cases in the U.S. where police get preferential treatment or simply a smack on the wrist (paid/unpaid suspension, or "fired" only to be immediately hired elsewhere and continue working as an officer).
The odds were (and are) NOT in the mom+sons' favor.
Legal system isn't perfect, I'm afraid. Perhaps that's why their mom+sons went the illegal route to guarantee their safety, rather than leave it up to chance at the hands of a flawed legal system who may fail to protect them.
And hey, it worked. At least until Mok Ha returned, they lived 14(?)+ years in safety. The dad wouldn't have been able to find them had it not been for Mok Ha's return.
I could be wrong, but I think Mok Ha & Woo Hak are endgame. Reasons:
- The writer likes emotional guys over level-headed individuals (See: HJP from Startup vs. Do San with anger issues, who punched HJP, and otherwise lacked communication skills). *puts up shield to ward against Do San fans* I know she chose DS over HJP. It's her life, her choices, and HJP deserves much better than her anyway lol *runs*
- The writer also set the floor by showing Woo Hak's emotional overreaction to his parents' careful inquiry into his feelings for Mok Ha. He obviously has a small crush on her!
- Not to mention, Mok Ha doesn't appear flustered or giddy over finding out Bo Geol (Ki Ho) still has feelings for her. Casual skin-ship with Bo Geol (Ki Ho) such as promise finger locking but she appears nonchalant over it. She is clearly MOVED by Ki Ho's non-stop search for her over 15 years (that dedication!). I just can't tell if it's true love or if she simply longed to see him, given all she's been through, being stranded alone for so long.
- Bo Geol (Ki Ho) is oh-so-conveniently-away whenever Mok Ha needs to do something. Woo Hak is the one freely available and just *there* when she could use company for her adventures. From Mok Ha's point of view, his availability and support for her may arouse feelings.
Again, I don't know for sure. These are just my passing thoughts given the episodes released thus far. Maybe she ends up with no one and remain good friends with both.
I asked ChatGPT if Seagulls can hold grudges - like crows do - and no, they do not. Mokha was being figurative when she said her seagull friend became her enemy, due to the feelings of guilt she felt...
From ChatGPT: "Seagulls, like many other birds, do not possess the ability to recognize individual humans and associate specific actions with them. While birds, including seagulls, can be protective of their nests and may exhibit defensive behavior if they feel threatened, they do not have the cognitive capacity to hold grudges or remember specific individuals.
If you were to disturb a seagull's nest or consume its eggs, the seagull may respond defensively to protect its territory, but any reaction would be based on the immediate threat rather than a lasting memory of you as an individual. It's important to note that disturbing bird nests, eggs, or young birds is generally discouraged, as it can have negative consequences for bird populations and may be illegal in many places due to conservation concerns.
In summary, while a seagull might react defensively to protect its nest, it won't "know" you or hold a grudge against you for consuming its eggs."
Netflix originals lacks when it comes to ost, Kdrama is known for giving the best ost that deliver the emotion…
Right??? YESS It’s kinda sad most of them don’t have memorable soundtracks. I guess it’s a bit americanized like movies where the ending credit song is the highlight song track for the entire movie there..
I do agree with the oversimplification of the recovery process, as it mainly focuses on medication rather than…
It’s like that IRL too, especially for lower income individuals who get government healthcare in US. You basically only see a psychiatrist who most times don’t really care about you, and will imply prescribe meds. Literally will cold ask “Ok, why are you here?” And offer no other words to help you heal or deal with things.
The more wealthy you are, you can then have a proper team (doctor, psychologist, therapist, and psychiatrist supportive network), and that holistic approach.
Otherwise, they just give you meds and make changes to dosages if it’s not woking out. There is no trying to help holistically, or talking kindly and empathy to help them overcome it or live with it. Those things are idea and often talked about in textbooks but in real world, those services cost money that not everyone can afford.
That’s why sometimes the dramas/tvshows covering mental illnesses feel like a Fantasy portrayal. Some healthcare providers don’t care, aren’t fully involved in treatment plans, nor do they have a passionate will to relieve their suffering.it’s their 9to5 job where most just go through motions, make sure they take meds, and extend no other effort to help.
I can't be the only person who didn't think Dr. Dong was being romantic. Dude was lowkey creepy most of the time,…
I got that kind of Ick when watching ML in “When the Camellia Bloom” (2019) kdrama. He was a police officer but his initially-one-sided-love for FL felt so creepy to me. I basically ignored their romance and stayed for the mystery murder plot. I digress >.<
It was less-so her, as he came across as slightly strange and eccentric to me. Wasn’t he getting treatment and seeing a professional? He shared how it was odd that his sumptoms disappear in her presence (possibly, he is attracted to her and his mind is busy) I don’t know lol.. the stranger parts were how they made the issue of his finger size or his profession… and how in the end, he’s trying to diet his fingers like what dude.. just accept! He isn’t overweight nor does he have any finger fat to lose..
Anyway, it did come across as creepy though. Maybe overly friendly if it is phrased kindly. Imagine if your coworker or someone approaches you like he did IRL… Anyone would be at least a little uncomfortable.
Episode 16 is a big dissapointment. So many things happened that i didn't like:-K was hanging up on the wall when…
Yeah, the redemption arcs for them all lol
I guess they killed off (or incapacitated, such as Dami’s father) so many good guys, the existing bad guys need to be redeemed and turn good to fight the greater evil that is K/Matthew?!? O_o
Right? The writer empathizes with the villains and gives them strong plot armor. Now they make it so Mone has…
That‘s true :(
People tend to be defined by their actions, not by their intentions. She made her choices (ex: to abandon her mother and family, to manipulate and hurt DaMi, to orchestrate bullying of other classmates through her henchmen-like-friends..)
i guess the show is showing us things from the 7’s pov a lot. They have more depth than simply being written as a one-dimensional bad villain
I thought our biggest worry was do hyuk x han mone. but apparently the redemption arc of the seven is worse
Right? The writer empathizes with the villains and gives them strong plot armor. Now they make it so Mone has motherly instincts or something?? X_x bizzare. Narcissist like her would be a nightmare mother like RaHee is.
From news article: "Lee Kyung-young on screen again? - Minor sex trafficking; public view/opinions"https://m.mt.co.kr/renew/view.html?no=2022051113502964200&type=outlink&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fduckduckgo.com"Lee…
Unbelievable. I just learned about this today, after seeing this actor in many kdramas.
He basically restarted his career like nothing happened, like he never coerced a minor into sex with money and promise of giving a child an actress role. Disgusting!!!

What do you all think? I'd love to hear!!

I've translated before, and take no insult to this o_o All L13 is doing is expressing excitement for this movie and wishes it were subbed.
If you dare to finish all 3 seasons.... rip...

How do these people not question it when the technology is THAT MUCH further developed in that dramaworld??

Justice for DaMi, when???
